MY REVIEW

Is there anything, A.L. Jackson can’t write??! As a huge fan of her contemporary romances, I was beyond excited to learn that she was trying her hand at fantasy romance. And let me tell you, this book does not disappoint.

Visions of Darkness is intriguing and a truly fresh take on Fantasy Romance. I couldn’t help but be fascinated by the characters, storyline, and world-building. I especially loved the forbidden romance aspect. Fair warning, Pax and Aria are going to steal your heart. And I, for one, couldn’t wait to see how their story would unfold.

Visions of Darkness is the first book in the Darkness series, and after that cliffhanger ending, I certainly can’t wait to find out what will happen next. If you’re looking for a well-written and unique fantasy romance with no shortage of action and intrigue, you won’t want to miss this all-new story from A.L. Jackson.

Talk about kicking off a new series with a bang!

I knew the moment we were first introduced to Rowan and Kyleigh, we’d be in for one heck of a ride, and I was not disappointed.

I loved seeing Rowan and Kyleigh navigate their way through all the obstacles that stood in their way. From their own personal baggage to a secret that could ruin everything. These characters experienced a ton of growth throughout their story, and I really enjoyed seeing them go from just having fun to exploring the possibility of more.

Mr. Heartbreaker is a one-of-a-kind sports romance that checked all of my boxes with its steamy and unforgettable secret romance, delicious angst, fabulous secondary characters, and family drama that would make anybody’s head spin. This new series from Piper Rayne is off to an amazing start, and I can’t wait to read more.

MY REVIEW

The House at Watch Hill is an intriguing read that I couldn’t help but devour. I found myself easily swept up in Zo’s story. Even though she frustrated me at times, I understood where she was coming from and found her devotion and hardships relatable.

I thought the author did a great job creating a web of mystery and intrigue. I enjoyed the whole process of trying to figure things out. There are a lot of odd/strange things, and secrets everyone was privy to except Zo.

As far as romance goes, I wouldn’t consider this book a romance. There is definitely steam and chemistry with certain characters, but it wasn’t the focus of this story. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the romance expanded upon.

The House at Watch Hill isn’t without its issues and imperfections. The pacing felt a bit off at times, which I attributed to the world-building. There is a lot of story to build and secrets to uncover. But now that the stage has been set, I look forward to seeing how everything will play out.

Overall, I think this series is off to a great start. I’ve got a ton of questions and look forward to getting them answered. The House at Watch Hill ended with one delicious cliffhanger that will leave you anxious to get your hands on the next book. I certainly can’t wait to find out what happens next.
