The One I Left Behind kicks off the Plain Daisy Ranch series with one heck of a start. Ben and Gillian’s story starts off like any good romance. Ben and Gillian are high school sweethearts and desperately in love. However, when Ben leaves town to follow his football dreams, he leaves Gillian behind. Fourteen years later, Ben returns home and it’s as though no time has passed. Gillian swore to herself that she’d never get left behind again and would protect her heart at all costs…

Instead, he wants to get to know Gillian’s son Clayton. He wants to show that he’s not afraid of doing the work or putting in the time with the people and things Gillian cares about. I loved watching these two characters grow and work past their issues on their way to happily ever after. If ever there was a couple I wanted to have a second chance at love, it was this one.

The One I Left Behind wasn’t all hearts and flowers. Despite being fairly tame with the drama aspect, this story does touch on some sensitive subject matter and this duo did an incredible job with it.

If you’re looking for a small-town, second chance romance that will utterly consume you and have you fall head over heels for all of the characters, you’ve got to get your hands on The One I Left Behind. I loved everything about this book and can not wait to see where this series will go next.

Wright Kind of Love picks up right where Wright Kind of Trouble left off and if you’re like me, you’ve been on pins and needles waiting for this epic conclusion. Wright Kind of Love hits the ground running and pulls out all the stops. Sinclairs and Wrights shouldn’t mix, and despite everything they’ve got going against them, Harley and Chase can’t be apart. They’ve fought long and they’ve fought hard. With their relationship finally out in the open, they’ll do anything to protect what they’ve been working so hard towards.

There’s one thing I can always count on when it comes to Aurora Rose Reynolds and that’s a book that will captivate and slay me at the same time. And Before This Ends does not disappoint!

When we first meet up with Emma, she’s ended a long-time relationship and isn’t sure of the direction she wants her life to take. One thing she’s certain of is that getting involved with someone new spells nothing but trouble. That is until she finds herself drawn to Miles. Miles doesn’t do complicated, but there’s something about Emma that pulls her to him. Before he knows it, he finds himself desperate to break down her walls and break all of his rules…

From the moment I met Emma, I just knew she was going to be a force to be reckoned with. She might be unsure of the direction her life is going in, but she’s the kind of person you can always count on and when she lets someone get close to her, she loves big and loves hard. Miles only has two priorities in life: his job and his little girl. He doesn’t have time for other distractions and doesn’t do relationships. But when he gets to know Emma more, he suddenly feels things he never expected. Before he knows it, he’s ready to take on the world and fight every single one of Emma’s demons.

What I loved about this story was the ease of the relationship between Emma and Miles. Yes, their connection was instant and off the charts. But, I loved seeing them build and work towards a solid foundation, especially when it wasn’t just their hearts at risk. The other thing I really loved was that while there was some drama, it was mostly light and fit with the story. No drama for the sake of drama, just a solid love story between two people that I just couldn’t get enough of.

In the end, Before This Ends was everything I was hoping it would be and it left me with a huge smile on my face. If you’re looking for a sexy, single-parent romance, you won’t want to miss Aurora Rose Reynolds’ latest release, Before This Ends. I hope you’ll fall head over heels for Miles and Emma just as I have.

MY REVIEW

From being famous for playing hockey to working at his father’s hardware store, the last place Chase ever thought he’d find himself was crawling back to his hometown. Thanks to his ex cheating on him, sacrifices have to be made. His kids need stability and what they really need is Madison. Unfortunately for Chase, he’s been the bane of Madison’s existence for as long as he can remember, and it just so happens, that Madison is the only nanny in town…

I thought this book was an okay read. I was intrigued by Madison in the beginning. She just returned to her hometown after having the rug pulled out from under her by her ex. She was desperate for a change and a fresh start. The last thing she ever expected was to find herself working for Chase. Chase was a good father who wanted the best for his boys. He’s definitely a work in progress, but has a lot of potential.

Madison and Chase definitely rocked the enemies-to-lovers trope. I thought they had good chemistry and there were some really great moments where their relationship/connection shined like true partners. Even though they started off as enemies-to-lovers, I do feel like their story rocked a pretty insta-love vibe as well. The reason I say that is because I felt like their romance took off at warp speed. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a good insta-love romance and I LOVE a fast-paced story, but I think for these two, their story was a little too fast-paced. Some things felt glossed over and unresolved.

My other issue was the twins, Cale & Cole. We truly only got a few glimpses of them and not nearly enough time of them with Madison. Don’t get me wrong, I do think the twins were cute, but if I’m being honest, they felt like an afterthought when they should have played a bigger role in the story.

Overall, I think Back Against the Wall is going to be a hit for some and unfortunately, a miss for others. And for me, it was an okay read. The characters were likable and their story was entertaining, I was just left wanting more.
