From the New York Times Bestselling Author of The Resistance comes this new STANDALONE contemporary romance.

Because first love deserves a second chance

One month.

One movie.

One shot at a second chance.

I fell madly in love at first sight with Jane Lewis.

The girl with bright green eyes, a pretty smile, and great ass owned my heart. I thought she was happy with the status quo, but ten years later, I foolishly let her go. Despite dating other women, no one compares to my first love. We are meant to be together, and I’m going to try my damnedest to convince her of that.

Luke Anders tricked me. The deal was sealed before I knew he was behind it.

We agreed to be just friends. Simple. Easy. But it’s not just the weather that’s hot in Texas. I was a fool to think I could resist him. He knows how to work his charms and those kissable lips, that great jaw, and biceps. We are here to work, but he has become downright distracting.

I’m strong. I can handle one month of his flirtatious sexual torture. But if I happen to fall in bed with that sexy bastard for a night, or three, does that make me weak? Asking for a friend, of course.

I guess I’m about to find out when love gets messy, it’s not just the talk that’s dirty.

**BONUS BOOK EDITION of Dirty Talk includes the full novel of Sweet Talk. “Sweet Talk is a fun, sexy, emotionally-rich second chance romance with a charm-your-panties-off hero.” ~ New York Times Bestselling Author, Violet Duke

Meet S.L. Scott

s.l. scott

New York Times and USA Bestselling Author, S. L. Scott, was always interested in the arts. She grew up painting, writing poetry and short stories, and willing her days away lost in a good book and the movies.

With a degree in Journalism, she continued her love of the written word by reading American authors like Salinger and Fitzgerald. She was intrigued by their flawed characters living in picture perfect worlds, but could still debate that the world those characters lived in were actually the flawed ones. This dynamic of leaving the reader invested in the words, inspired Scott to start writing with emotion while interjecting an underlying passion into her own stories.

Living in the capital of Texas with her family, Scott loves traveling and avocados, beaches, and cooking with her kids. She’s obsessed with epic romances and loves a good plot twist. She dreams of seeing one of her own books made into a movie one day as well as returning to Europe. Her favorite color is blue, but she likens it more toward the sky than the emotion. Her home is filled with the welcoming symbol of the pineapple and finds surfing a challenge though she likes to think she’s a pro.

Release Blitz: The Divided by Bria Starr

Title: The Divided
Author: Bria Starr

Adjust. Adapt. Accept.
But never give up hope.
Falling…
                    Falling…
                                        Falling…
When eighteen-year-old cousins, Julie and Mary Anne Adler, are plummeted onto a grassy field surrounded by a post-apocalyptic world, they have no idea where they are, or how they got there. In this unfamiliar wasteland run by a group of refugees called the Sector, the girls search for answers.
But things get complicated when one of the men in the Sector finds himself enamored with Julie. Despite Julie’s own feelings toward him, she knows she and her cousin must return home. Now it’s up to them to find a way to escape this strange and isolating place…
Or die trying.
We stand and look around. We’re on the edge of a plot of land about the size of a football field, and three-quarters of the edges are lined by a chain-link fence. A large stone wall surrounds the field beyond my view. No mountains. The road, only several feet in front of us, leads three different ways, yet something in my brain is pulling me back to the other end of the field. I turn, hoping to see a sign that will let me know where we should begin. In the distance stands the skeleton of a rusty old water tower flanked by the remnants of what I can only guess was once a typical town.
“Do you see my car?” Mary Anne asks.
I shake my head. Just as I move to take a step, a loud whistle sounds off, followed by sirens, and my body jumps in surprise. Two vehicles round the corner and charge straight for us.
Mary Anne stiffens when she sees them, her hands covering her ears from the deafening sound.
“Run!” I scream, reaching for her arm, but she refuses to move.
The sirens cease, but the engines rev louder as they pick up speed. I can’t leave her, and they’ll easily catch up to us before we even make it halfway across the field. Several men holding guns come into view.
One man’s raspy shout to, “Get down!” thunders out above the engine. “On your stomach!”
Mary Anne and I glance at each other, her wide eyes mirroring my own fear as we drop to our knees. With my forehead pressed against the cool ground, my aching body is the furthest thing from my mind. Tires are crunching on the street just ahead before they come to a stop, and I know they’ll be here soon.
We shouldn’t be here.
I hear more shouts and voices raised. Lifting my head slightly, the two modified vehicles looking straight out of a Mad Max movie stand before us, four men in each, all carrying firearms. All eight of them jump out and start walking toward us.
“Get back down!” one of them shouts from the road. I quietly resume my place with my head down.
“Well, well, what do we have here?” I hear a smile in this guy’s voice.
“Stand up,” a third man gruffly commands.
I hear movement from Mary Anne’s direction and realize she’s doing what she’s told, only now I’m too scared to stand. “Can you help us?” Mary Anne stammers. “We need to get back to our car.”
She’s asking them for help? My first instinct is that they are foes, not friends, but I hope she’s right, even though Mary Anne has never been great at reading people.
Footsteps approach. “Get up, girl,” the gruff voice demands again and nudges my leg roughly with his boot.
A small pain from my leg strikes up my body, and I try to ignore it as I slowly rise and observe the men several feet away on the pavement, ready to raise their weapons. I immediately notice they are all wearing matching dark shirts and dark pants tucked into combat boots. The uniforms giving away that they’re military of some sort, along with the guns, worries me that we might be in trouble for unknown reasons. Trespassing?
The gruff man who nudged my leg is standing directly in front of me on the grass, examining me as though I’m an alien. His salt and pepper hair frames his face perfectly, and his sullen eyes give me the impression he’s seen hard times. He appears to be older than my own grandfather, yet I’d have to place my bets on this guy if the two of them were to ever get into a fight. I’ve never seen an older man in such great shape.
I shift my sights back to the grass and concentrate on squishing my toes into the soaked bottoms of my sneakers.
“They’re just girls,” I hear the guy with the smile in his voice say from somewhere in the background. He steps out and stops when he sees me, blinking a few times before his gaze moves to Mary Anne and then back to me again. I feel like cattle on sale as all the men quietly examine us.
“You know as well as I do that girls can cause just as much damage as men,” Gruff responds as he moves to Mary Anne, his husky tone booming in the open air.
Bria Starr grew up in a small town in Minnesota and continues to live there with her husband and two kids. She’s a stay at home mom who is very close with her family, loves junk food, and is always cold. Her favorite things include reading books, writing, listening to music, and watching too many movies.

Cover Reveal: Garrett by Karla Sorensen

Title: Garrett
Series: Bachelors of the Ridge #2
Author: Karla Sorensen
Release Date: Oct 21, 2016
The one thing Garrett Calder and Aurora Anderson have in common is that they absolutely hate each other.
Garrett has the job that Aurora has worked for and wanted for years and it was handed to him on a silver platter, just like everything else in his life. The fact that he manages everything with the most annoyingly handsome smile on his equally annoying, handsome face is just icing on the freaking cake.
Aurora is not only the most beautiful, but the smartest, most infuriating woman Garrett has ever had the misfortune of meeting. Her sharp tongue and inability to be charmed by him makes her somehow more maddening, and she’s never let him get away with a single thing, not for the eight years they’ve worked together.
Garrett and Aurora are pushed into a situation neither of them want to be in— forced to work together for twelve months or risk losing everything. Twelve months where they can’t kill each other. Twelve long months, and only one of them will be left standing at the end. And in the process of surviving it—and each other—they’ll discover that there’s a very fine line between love and hate.
Well, let’s see … I’m a wife and a mother. I’m a writer who wants to make people smile when they read my words. I own a dog that sheds roughly eighteen pounds of hair every day. I am obsessed with Outlander (both the books and the show). I’m almost exclusively a romance reader, which means some people will never consider me a literary snob. If I could meet one historical figure, it would be Jane Austen. I received my Bachelors in Public Relations and worked in health care marketing before I had my babies. I hate Twitter. I do it, but I hate it. Also, if you want to get on my good side, bring me wine and I’ll love you forever.

My Review

“There’s a belief that our souls guide us to certain people because something in them reminds us of ourselves or because there’s something we have to learn from them.” “It’s an attraction of energies, the seeking of fulfillment. Sometimes opposites attract, but sometimes likes attract. We like each other, and we’re also alike. So on one level it’s not so strange after all.”

Told from dual points of view, Sweet Dreams follows the story of Polly and Luke. Ever since her mother passed away, Polly has been working hard to salvage her mother’s dream. She’s doing everything she can, but never seems to get ahead. It’s not until her 23rd birthday, that she takes a moment for herself. She goes out to celebrate her birthday and meets the hottest guy she’s ever seen…What could possibly go wrong??? Luke is all about business and has no time for dates. So, when he meets Polly, he can’t help but be intrigued. They are as opposite as opposites can get. But, there is just something about her that calls to him. Luke tries to fight the pull, but one can only fight a connection like that for so long…..

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I loved the idea of the story and was pulled in from the moment I picked it up. I thought that Polly’s character was a lot of fun. I loved how quirky she was and her free spirit. I thought that she was very hard working, determined and independent. I appreciated how hard she fought to keep her mother’s business alive. I liked Luke a lot. When I first met him, I wanted to know more about this sexy workaholic. He too was hard working, focused and determined. He doesn’t do love or relationships, but when he meets Polly, it’s like something has been awakened inside of him. He feels things he never knew existed. For the first time, he’s seeing a future and that scares him…

I adored Luke and Polly together. I loved their push and pull. Their chemistry was intense and undeniable from the very beginning. I loved watching their relationship grow and could not wait to see how things would play out between the two of them.

However, I did have a few issues with Sweet Dreams. While I felt that it was well written, there were some parts that were a bit bumpy and didn’t quite work for me–and that might just be me. But, sometimes, those little things can be distracting. My only other issue was the ending. Please don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the ending, I just felt that it was a bit rushed and left me wanting more.

Despite the few issues I had with this book, I really did enjoy it. I toyed between a 3.5 and 4 star rating and I just feel that 4 stars is the right way to go. I loved Polly and Luke’s story. I felt that it was sexy and sweet with just the right amount of romance, angst and drama. I think this new series is off to a good start and I’m excited to see where the series will go next.

Review: She’s My Kind of Girl (Something New #4.5) by Jennifer Dawson

she'smine

In high school, they’d burned fast and hot. Now is their chance to find out if the sparks that linger will ignite a whole new flame.

The only thing Darcy Miller ever wanted more than gorgeous troublemaker Griffin Strong was to shake off the dust of small-town Revival, Illinois, and head to the big city—even if she had to leave him behind. Ten years later, Darcy is the ultimate New Yorker, writing a sex blog and living on designer cocktails and the pulse of urban life. That is, until she hears that Revival plans to seize her mother’s house right after the holidays, thanks to the new mayor—who is none other than Darcy’s ex…

Griffin couldn’t have asked for a more dangerous Christmas gift. Curvy, sassy Darcy is every bit as delectable as the wild child she was in high school—and just as determined to stir up problems. But Griffin learned long ago to straighten up and fly right in order to make changes in the town he loves. Keeping his reputation wholesome is a big part of that. If only Darcy didn’t make him want to take his place on the naughty list with her, right under the mistletoe…

My Review

She’s My Kind of Girl is a fast-paced and easy read. I found the story-line to be really enjoyable. I loved the drama of Darcy, the bad girl, having to return home to the one that got away. On the outside it may seem like Griffin has grown up and let go of his bad boy ways, but when Darcy returns home, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Even though many years have passed, the pull between Darcy and Griffin is stronger than ever and it’s only a matter of time before these two give in to the passion that they share.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Even though it was fast paced, I thought it worked very well with this book. I fell in love with Darcy and Griffin from the moment I met them. The sparks between the two of them were undeniable. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next.

She’s My Kind of Girl is a novella in the Something New Series, but it definitely can be read as a stand-alone. I fell in love with the characters and their town and am looking forward to going back and discovering the previous books in this series.

She’s My Kind of Girl has the perfect mix of drama, sex and romance. If you’re looking for a quick, but sexy and entertaining read, I would definitely recommend giving this one a try.

Genre: Contemporary Romance

CHANDLER FINAL .jpg

Synopsis:

I’m good in a boardroom, but I’m better in the bedroom. Much better. I can charm the skirt off any woman in one encounter. I’ll even give her an orgasm before I put her in a cab. Or three. No more or she’ll start making plans for the future and I’m not into that.

Or I wasn’t until Genevive Fasbender. She’s the first woman in five years that I want to spend the whole night with. And she’s the first woman who’s told me I’m not what she wants in a lover, even after multiple O’s. She’s brash and bold and stubborn as hell, and she doesn’t believe it’s possible to satisfy her.

But I’m up for the challenge.

And after an incident in my brother’s office closet―a downright dirty incident―I think I’m just the guy to deliver.

Genevive Fasbender will never know what’s coming.

My Review

Chandler is the 5th book in the Fixed Series, but can totally be read as a stand-alone. One of the things that I loved and enjoyed most about this book is that it told 100% from Chandler’s point of view. To me, there is nothing better than getting inside a guys mind and seeing how he really thinks and feels about things. And let me tell you, Laurelin Paige does an amazing job at nailing the male point of view.

When we first encounter Chandler, he is the typical playboy. He’s charming. He’s sexy. He always gets his way. Meeting Genevieve is a total game changer. For the first time ever, Chandler wants more. And let me tell you, Genevieve is not about to make it easy on him. Genevieve is one smart, stubborn and difficult to please. But, if anyone is up to the challenge, it’s going to be Chandler.

Overall, I thought Chandler’s story was a great read. I thought it was a fantastic addition to the Fixed series. I was pulled into the story right away and devoured this book in just one sitting. I really liked Genevieve and Chandler together. They had amazing push and pull. I loved watching the two of them together and was excited to see how things were going to play out. I thought that Genevieve and Chandler had amazing chemistry. I loved seeing Chandler’s world being turned upside down. Genevieve brought out qualities that he didn’t even know existed, such as a romantic heart and caveman tendencies.

Chandler is a terrific story and addition to this series. If you are new to this series, as I previously stated, this story can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. If you are already of fan of the Fixed series, you won’t want to miss out on this one.

Excerpt:

Five minutes later, the valet pulls up with my car. Genevieve raises an eyebrow. “A Bugatti?”

I’m so impressed she can name the model that I practically jizz in my pants. “It’s the best.”

She shakes her head, and I swear I hear her mutter something about rich men and their toys, but I don’t respond, too occupied with inspecting my car and then passing the attendant the cash I promised him earlier for returning my vehicle in perfect condition.

I slide into the driver’s seat, and when I look over at Genevieve as she buckles her seatbelt, a wave of pure, unadulterated lust rolls through me. I’m very aware that I’ve trapped her, that she’s now defenseless to my whims. Not that I’d take advantage, but goddamn, to think that I could…

I nearly shiver at my own vile thoughts.

Glad she can’t know what I’m thinking, I flash her a smile. “So. Where am I taking you?”

“I’m staying at the Park Hyatt on 57th Street.”

“Fancy.” The Park Hyatt is one of the nicest luxury hotels in New York. That means this girl has money, which isn’t a bad thing. Just, the swell of my wallet in my back pocket is usually one of my better attributes. If wealth doesn’t attract her, I hope I’m not shit out of luck when it comes to getting an invitation up to her room.

Apparently, I’m transparent because she asks, “Not impressed?”

“Quite the opposite. I’m worried you won’t have a reason to be impressed with me.” Now I’m the one who can’t believe how honest I’m being.

“It’s a valid worry,” she says after a beat, and I can’t tell if she’s teasing or being blunt. Can’t tell if I should prepare for gut-wrenching disappointment or dive into another round of sexy banter.

I concentrate on my driving instead, speeding up before slipping expertly into a tight opening in the adjacent lane.

I’ll admit I’m showing off.

“Smashing,” she says with a tone that vibrates through my body like I’m a tuning fork.

Then, abruptly, she laughs, and I turn my head toward her, alarmed at the source of her amusement.

“I still can’t believe you drive a Bugatti in the city. I can’t decide if that makes you brilliant or as mad as a bag of ferrets.”

“Brilliant, of course.” Though, with her so close, I feel more like I’m going crazy. “What can I say? I like things that are fast.”

“Of course you do.”

“You don’t?” I raise a questioning brow. “Maybe you don’t understand how awesome fast can be.” I put my foot on the gas and race down the next block to prove my point.

The traffic light turns red as I approach the intersection, and I ease the brakes. “See? Fast is fun.”

“The problem with fast is it’s over too quickly.”

Is that innuendo? Her gaze pierces into me, and the air around us feels tight and charged, and I’m suddenly certain that I will die if I don’t get to taste her tonight.

Even if she didn’t mean anything more when she made her statement, I certainly do when I say, “Don’t worry. I know when to take my time.”

She exhales, slowly, and I swear I can feel it. As though she’s already in my arms and her breath is grazing every inch of my bare skin. No matter what happens after this, I know she at least feels this…this attraction. Or whatever it is.

Her voice is low and sultry when she replies. “You’re not talking about cars anymore. But do you really take your time? I’d guess you bolt the minute you’re finished.” She’s so blunt, so direct, and I don’t know if it’s a her thing or an English thing, but I like it.

I also like this conversation we’re having. Because we’re drawing the lines, and that means the potential for tonight is high. So I answer with a nod, making sure she understands that she’s correct in thinking I’ll bolt. Because I will.
