Billy’s not my baby daddy, but he doesn’t mind pretending to be…
I’m a Division 1 cheerleader with hopes of becoming a sports broadcaster. None of my plans for college include getting knocked up by a cheating ex who just got engaged to another girl.
When my father finds out I’m pregnant, he goes ballistic. That’s when my BFF, bad boy Billy Babcock, comes to my rescue and agrees to “take responsibility.”
Billy and I solidify our contract on a napkin—he’ll pretend to be my baby’s father, and I’ll help him clean up his image. The only problem is my father, the football coach, hates Billy. He warned me off dating players a long time ago, and he thinks Billy’s the biggest player out there.
Now that we’re in a “relationship,” Billy thinks we should spend some quality naked time together, but I’m worried about crossing that line. Because athletic guys with big muscles, intricate tattoos, and sexy smirks are my biggest weakness, and Billy ticks off all those boxes.
Can my football player “boyfriend” walk the straight and narrow for me?
Or did I just get handed off from one heartbreaker to another?
Heartbreaker Handoff is an angsty, friends-to-lovers, forbidden romance featuring a sassy cheerleader, who’s about to be a single mother, and a criminally charming football player determined to prove he’s the man for her, one sizzling kiss at a time. Heartbreaker Handoff is a dual POV standalone in the USA Today-bestselling series Varsity Dads.
Lex Martin is the USA Today bestselling author of The Varsity Dad Dilemma, the Texas Nights series, and the Dearest series, books she hopes readers love but her parents avoid. A Sexy, Small Town, Secret Baby, Sports, Standalone Romance From Bestselling Author, Stacey Lynn.
Everyone knows who Caleb Kelley is. I’m at the top of my game, known all around Colorado and beyond for not only my elite skills in professional hockey, but also my family’s ranching heritage. For this reason, I trust very few people as I’m used to strangers and so-called friends trying to get close to us for a piece of fame.
But when I receive a letter from a woman I slept with years ago, letting me know I’m a father—I implicitly trust her. Emily Russo is forever ingrained in my memory, and is the exception to every rule.
That one night I spent with her was unforgettable. I still remember the feel of her lips and the way her body moved under mine. For years, I’ve regretted not leaving her my phone number because if I had, I wouldn’t be seeing the first glimpses of my son in glossy pictures. Instead, I would’ve held him in my arms the minute he was born.
Now, I not only have to get to know my son, I also have to convince Emily that the spark that once burned between us is still smoldering, ready to burn even hotter a second time around.
But it’s not only hanger-ons who follow me. There are others who want to see this golden boy tossed off his throne. Too bad they don’t know what lengths I’ll go to protect what’s mine. I’ll do anything for Emily and my son. My love for them is unending.

Ryleigh Growing up in Hollywood, I was surrounded by liars and phonies. So when I got my law degree, I knew I wanted to work as a district attorney. Busy days turned to long nights—I was on my way up the ladder. Then he happened. Bullied his way into my life as if there was no choice. Suddenly everything I thought I wanted wasn’t as important.
Stone I had one thing on my mind and that was never going to change: The game. The only goal I had was beating the records set by my family. I didn’t have time for anything else. Until she walked in the room. The earth shifted, just like the stories said it would. I said it wouldn’t happen—not to me. I didn’t have the time, but now she was the only thing on my mind. I knew it was her. Now I had to convince her.
When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
Wells Whitaker was once golf’s hottest rising star, but lately, all he has to show for his “promising” career is a killer hangover, a collection of broken clubs, and one remaining supporter. No matter how bad he plays, the beautiful, sunny redhead is always on the sidelines. He curses, she cheers. He scowls, she smiles. But when Wells quits in a blaze of glory and his fangirl finally goes home, he knows he made the greatest mistake of his life.
Josephine Doyle believed in the gorgeous, grumpy golfer, even when he didn’t believe in himself. Yet after he throws in the towel, she begins to wonder if her faith was misplaced. Then a determined Wells shows up at her door with a wild proposal: be his new caddy, help him turn his game around, and split the prize money. And considering Josephine’s professional and personal life is in shambles, she could really use the cash…
As they travel together, spending days on the green and nights in neighboring hotel rooms, sparks fly. Before long, they’re inseparable, Wells starts winning again, and Josephine is surprised to find a sweet, thoughtful guy underneath his gruff, growly exterior. This hot man wants to brush her hair, feed her snacks, and take bubble baths together? Is this real life? But Wells is technically her boss and an athlete falling for his fangirl would be ridiculous… right?
Fangirl Down was an okay read. I liked the premise of the story and enjoyed the tension between Josephine and Wells. Tessa Bailey never disappoints with her dirty-talking heroes, but I will say, there were some sexy moments in this book that I could have lived without. Some of the other issues I ran into with this book were third-person POV & the pacing. Third-person POV is always a struggle for me. Sometimes, I’m able to make it work, and at others like this one, I definitely struggle. As far as the pacing goes, it started strong and I did find the idea of a golf star making a comeback to be intriguing, but somewhere along the way, the pacing got off and I found it a struggle to keep reading.
Overall, this book was a bit hit-and-miss for me.

Pretending to be a celebrity billionaire’s fake fiancée is anything but simple, especially when the man is my boss, Nate Crawford.
He’s fifteen years older than me. One of the hottest actor-producers in Hollywood. And my childhood celebrity crush. Or at least, he used to be—before I became his daughter’s nanny and realized how demanding he could be.
The only reason I haven’t quit is because I adore his daughter, and I’d do anything for her. Which is how I find myself agreeing to a fake engagement to prevent Nate’s ex-wife from gaining full custody.
But when Nate kisses me, it feels real. And the longer we pretend, the easier it is to believe it’s not all just an act.Now I’m worried his daughter’s future isn’t the only thing at stake because I’m falling in love with my fake fiancé.
Nate is Emerson’s teenage dream, her childhood crush. She can’t believe her luck when she finds herself nannying for Nate’s daughter, Brooklyn…that is until she gets to know Nate. Nate is super protective when it comes to his daughter and his rules are ridiculous. Her adoration for Brooklyn is the only thing that keeps her from quitting her job. She’d do anything for this little girl, even if it meant putting herself in the last position she ever imagined….as Nate’s Fiancee.
I absolutely adored this book. Emerson is a total spitfire and force to be reckoned with. As an athlete, she’s no stranger to stress and fame and isn’t willing to take crap from anyone, not even Nate. Nate might have a playboy image, but he’s put his heart on the line a time or two. Burned by love and past relationships, Nate likes to keep things calm and simple. He works hard and wants to be the best dad. But, Emerson was the plot twist he never saw coming. She challenges him in ways he’s unprepared for and when Emerson has a health scare, things take a turn neither one of them saw coming.
Together, Nate and Emerson had some truly amazing chemistry. I loved the push and pull between them, those will they/won’t they moments. The tension just oozed off of the pages and no matter how hard Nate tried, he didn’t stand a chance when it came to Emerson.
Reputation is a fantastic read from beginning to end. I was captivated from the very first interaction between Nate and Emerson and couldn’t help but root for them to find their happily ever after. And when you add in all of the wonderful Taylor Swift references, you’ve got yourself one enjoyable read.
If you’re looking for an entertaining age-gap, fake relationship romance, you’re not gonna want to miss Reputation. I hope you’ll fall head over heels for this story just as I have.

I’m her brother’s best friend, and for the past ten years, I’ve also been Addison McKenzie’s dirty little secret.
My pro-hockey player lifestyle kept me from her, but I thought we had a good thing going. Burning up the sheets whenever I visited home worked well for us. Or so I thought. When a season-ending injury sends me back to Starlight Cove, I find out she thinks of me as nothing more than a mistake. She’s trying her hardest to ignore my presence, but being snowed in together is making that difficult. So is sharing a bed. Old habits die hard, and it’s no surprise we fall right back into each other. Undeniable chemistry was never our problem, though. Making it last in the real world was. But I’ve been in love with Addison for years. And I have no intention of giving up on us now.
Meet Brighton Walsh: Award-winning USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brighton Walsh spent a decade as a professional photographer before taking her storytelling in a different direction and reconnecting with her first love—writing. She likes her books how she likes her tea—steamy and satisfying—and adores strong-willed heroines and the protective heroes who fall head over heels for them. Brighton lives in the Midwest with her real life hero of a husband, her two kids—both taller than her—and her dog who thinks she’s a queen. Her boy-filled house is the setting for dirty socks galore, frequent dance parties (okay, so it’s mostly her, by herself, while her children look on in horror), and more laughter than she thought possible.
