After reading Moonlit Thorns, I knew without a doubt, that I had to get my hands on the next installment, ASAP. And believe me when I tell you, this series keeps getting better and better!

Shattered Vows is the second installment of the Midnight Manor series and follows the story of Kol and Rapsody. Once upon a time, Kol and Rapsody fell hard and fell fast. But, Rapsody isn’t like the other girls. She’s lived an incredibly sheltered life and when their love is put to the test, Rapsody disappears and ruins everything. Now, years later, Kol is on a mission for revenge and kidnapping Rapsody seems like the perfect plan…

Shattered Vows sucked in from the very first page. Rapsody is the perfect representation of Rapunzel. She’s innocent and sheltered. She only knows the life her mother has given her and has never questioned it until Kol. Kol is his own brand of darkness. He’s intense and not afraid to go after the things he wants. Together, these two shouldn’t work but their connection is all-consuming and I loved seeing Kol and Rapsody navigate through all the hurdles P. Rayne threw at them.

P. Rayne has completely knocked it out of the park with Shattered Vows. The characters are the perfect mix of dark and light. They are complex and intriguing. You’ll find yourself utterly consumed, desperate for answers, and ultimately, will lose track of time because you can’t stop reading.

If you’re a fan of fairytale re-tellings, you won’t want to miss Shattered Vows. This modern-day, Rapunzel re-telling is filled with action, suspense, angst, and danger. It more than delivers with its secrets, revelations, sexy good times, and of course romance.

MY REVIEW

This book was so cute and unexpected!

Paige and Cole were complete opposites who got off on the wrong foot when they first met. Their banter was flirty from that moment, yet rocked an enemies-to-lovers vibe. A burning passion burned between them despite their seeming hate for one another. The pull between them is intense and undeniable. And just when you think things will finally happen between them or they might finally be getting along, the rug gets pulled out from under them….

I absolutely adored Their Last Resort. Cole is by the books and Paige is like a breath of fresh air. They mix as well as oil and water, yet the pull between them is undeniable. I loved their banter and their interactions kept me wildly entertained. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next and couldn’t help but root for Paige and Cole to find their way to a happily ever after.

If I had to make any complaints about this story, it would be the pacing. Their Last Resort started slow, which I didn’t mind too much, because I felt like it helped to set the stage and build the connection with Cole and Paige. However, once we reached the climax of the story, it felt like things went a little too fast and were rushed. I would have liked to see Cole and Paige’s relationship develop a little more post-hurricane and see them fall for each other, especially after their rough start.

All in all, I found this book to be a really enjoyable read. I loved the plot and had fun getting lost in the characters. I had a great time getting swept up in Cole and Paige’s story.

If you’re a fan of flirty, enemies-to-lovers romances, you won’t want to miss Their Last Resort.

Winnie and Archer’s story captivated me from the first page. At first, I wasn’t sure what to think of Archer or his intentions. But, the more I got to know him, the more he became the book boyfriend of my dreams. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for Winnie. He was the knight in shining armor whom Winnie never saw coming. And, Winnie is feisty, funny, and isn’t afraid to give Archer a run for his money. She’s a devoted friend and is just what Archer never knew he needed.

The chemistry between Archer and Winnie was off the charts, amazing! The push and pull between them left me aching for more. I loved watching the two of them grow into their relationship and seeing Archer trying to earn Winnie’s trust.

I enjoyed everything about this book from beginning to end. It captivated me. It intrigued me. It kept me on my toes. I loved the rivalry between their families and seeing certain people get their comeuppance. And the romance and sexy good times left me yearning for more.

From fake marriage to catching feelings to an unforgettable romance, this book definitely delivered. If you’re looking for a sexy, age-gap, arranged marriage romance, Pretty Rings and Broken Things is just the romance you’ve been waiting for.

MY REVIEW

From being famous for playing hockey to working at his father’s hardware store, the last place Chase ever thought he’d find himself was crawling back to his hometown. Thanks to his ex cheating on him, sacrifices have to be made. His kids need stability and what they really need is Madison. Unfortunately for Chase, he’s been the bane of Madison’s existence for as long as he can remember, and it just so happens, that Madison is the only nanny in town…

I thought this book was an okay read. I was intrigued by Madison in the beginning. She just returned to her hometown after having the rug pulled out from under her by her ex. She was desperate for a change and a fresh start. The last thing she ever expected was to find herself working for Chase. Chase was a good father who wanted the best for his boys. He’s definitely a work in progress, but has a lot of potential.

Madison and Chase definitely rocked the enemies-to-lovers trope. I thought they had good chemistry and there were some really great moments where their relationship/connection shined like true partners. Even though they started off as enemies-to-lovers, I do feel like their story rocked a pretty insta-love vibe as well. The reason I say that is because I felt like their romance took off at warp speed. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a good insta-love romance and I LOVE a fast-paced story, but I think for these two, their story was a little too fast-paced. Some things felt glossed over and unresolved.

My other issue was the twins, Cale & Cole. We truly only got a few glimpses of them and not nearly enough time of them with Madison. Don’t get me wrong, I do think the twins were cute, but if I’m being honest, they felt like an afterthought when they should have played a bigger role in the story.

Overall, I think Back Against the Wall is going to be a hit for some and unfortunately, a miss for others. And for me, it was an okay read. The characters were likable and their story was entertaining, I was just left wanting more.
