I don’t have the hots for my roommate… If I say it enough times, will I believe it?
A Reluctant Roommate, an all-new hilarious forced-proximity, brother’s best friend, romantic comedy from USA Today bestselling author Angela Casella is available now!
I don’t have the hots for my roommate… If I say it enough times, will I believe it?
Some people might say I’m allergic to change. They’d be right.
I’ve lived in the same house my entire life, worked at the same company since I graduated from college, and hung out with the same three friends since middle school. If you think that sounds boring, you’re in agreement with my new roommate—my sister’s best friend, Andrea Ruiz.
Andy has always been a ball buster, a hell raiser…and she’s also the sexiest woman I’ve ever met. I let her move in because she was down and needed a place to stay, but she’s taking a hammer to my carefully constructed life.
My grandmother’s always told me I’m too impulsive for my own good. Should’ve listened to her, I guess. I posted a few (very tame) videos of my feet on a platform known for its racy content, and suddenly found myself homeless and out of a job. But Drew took pity on me and gave me a place to live, and now the Fairy Godmother Agency, a husband and wife P.I. team who thrive on anarchy, is offering me a job.
Drew’s so solid and reliable. I know my chaos is driving him crazy, but there’s a part of me that likes driving him crazy. I want to crack his shell. Because in the brief moments when he lets himself relax his rules, he’s surprisingly irresistible.
From New York Times & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Aurora Rose Reynolds comes a brand new romantic comedy about a girl who understands how short life is, and a man who quickly learns there are things way more important than money.
I had no idea that taking a temp job for the summer would send my life into a tailspin, but that’s exactly what happened when I started working for Jace Ellis.
One day I was his secretary and the next I was sitting on his private plane, wearing an obnoxiously large engagement ring, after he asked me if I would pretend to be his fiancé for one week.
I can admit that greed got the best of me. But the money he offered in exchange for my lie would help not only me, but my mom out tremendously.
I just had no idea what I was actually getting myself into.
I didn’t think about the fact that we would be sharing a bed, that we would have to pretend to like each other, and I sure didn’t know that I would be surrounded by his entire family at their annual family reunion.
But if the guy want’s a fiancé, I’m going to be the best one he’ll ever have.
I just hope I can remember that this isn’t forever; it’s for never.

The room is pitch black, which is unusual. I prefer the blinds to be partially open so moonlight can seep through the windows at night, but maybe my housekeeper shut them while she dusted. Too tired to think of it any further, I pull down my crumpled comforter and drop myself on the bed. Except, I’m not on my cool sheets. I’m on top of another human being. “What the fuck!” I jump off and turn on the lamp. Pumpkin meows loudly, but all I can do is stare at the strange female in my bed. “Hey!” she says. She jumps off, wearing nothing but a black tee, which I’m sure belongs to me. The first thing I notice is a pair of long, lean brown legs. She’s running a hand over her face by the time my eyes travel up her slight frame. She’s tall but thin. She pushes back a head full of dark hair, and I look into her dark brown eyes. She’s pretty. Very pretty with full, pouty lips and high cheekbones. Her only imperfection is a mole in the middle of her right cheek, but it works for her. She would have been too perfect without it. It’s the only blemish on her clear, smooth skin. “Who the hell are you and what the fuck are you doing in my house, in my bed?” I look around for my phone; then I remember the stupid thing broke on me. That’s another thing I need to do tomorrow. I need to go buy a new phone. I haven’t had one for days. “Um,” she looks around the room, looking a little confused. This is a high-end neighborhood. There are no squatters here. “Max said I could stay here.” She yawns, showcasing her perfect straight teeth. That’s not the mouth of a squatter. She runs her hands over her face again, and I notice a fresh French manicure. “Max said you could stay here? My brother said that? And did he also tell you that you could sleep in my bed?” She sighs almost as if I’m inconveniencing her and sits on the bed, “He called you a bunch of times. I’m Delaney Lewis.” She offers me her hand, but I don’t take it. “Am I supposed to know who you are? You have five seconds or I’m calling the police.” It’s a total lie. I have no phone, but she doesn’t know that. And I’d never call the police on such a stunning creature. Beautiful women are my Kryptonite, and this one is as beautiful as they get. “I’m Summer’s best friend and—” I calm down now that I recognize the name. “Right,” I relax, but I don’t sit. “They went to your wedding last Saturday.” I pull back the rest of the covers to make sure there’s no naked man in my bed. “Well, the wedding didn’t happen,” she mutters. She looks down at the carpet, and her shoulders slump. “But that doesn’t explain why you’re here,” I tell her. “I’m not ready to face my parents or ex-fiancé yet. They know where Max lives, so he said I could hide out here for a few days.”

It’s that time of year again! As you know, there is nothing more that I love than challenging myself when it comes to the books I read. Whether it’s a new author, series, a genre that takes me out of my comfort zone or being able to tackle some books that have been on my tbr for far too long; I live for a good reading challenge. In the past few years, I stepped up my game not only with the books that I read but also by attempting to clear out that never-ending to-read list. As always, my challenges have been hard, but a ton of fun at the same time.
For 2023’s Reading Challenge, I really wanted to once again challenge myself and kick my never-ending to-read list’s butt!! And I am more than ready for the challenge……

2022 has been another crazy and stressful year that has thankfully left us with a lot of good reads and hope for 2023. Despite all of the challenges 2022 brought us, it has been one heck of a year for amazing reads. This year, I read over 362 books, discovered lots of “new to me” authors, and trying to narrow that list down was tough. I have just read so many amazing, life-changing, blow-me-away, knock-my-socks-off books. Amazingly enough, this year, I was able to keep my list at 14. These 14 books have given me all the feels. They’ve made me laugh, cry, swoon, and taken me on some of the best journeys.
I hope you enjoy my top 14 and the quotes I’ve pulled….
“People say you fall in love, but fall is such a sad word when you think about it. Falls are never good. You fall on the ground, you fall behind, you fall to your death. Whoever was the first person to say they fell in love must have already fallen out of it. Otherwise, they’d have called it something much better.”
“He wanted to be around me as much as I wanted to be around him. No matter the time or distance between us, the want was always there. It had always been there. And being around him again in this city made me want him more than ever.”
“You know, sometimes I think we get caught up in the idea that our jobs make or break us as humans, when that’s not the case at all. A job is a means to make money and provide for yourself. I think it’s the relationships we cultivate, the energy we put out into the world, that define us. You could be a billionaire with all the riches in the world, but that wouldn’t mean your life was truly rich.”
Space is the last thing an event planner and an astronaut need in this charming new romantic comedy from New York Times bestselling author Samantha Young.
When event planner Hallie Goodman receives party-inspiration material from the bride of her latest wedding project, the last thing she expects to find in the files are digital videos from Darcy’s ex-boyfriend. Hallie knows it’s wrong to keep watching these personal videos, but this guy is cute, funny, and an astronaut on the International Space Station to boot. She’s only human. And it’s not long until she starts sending e-mails and video diaries to his discontinued NASA address. Since they’re bouncing back, there’s no way anyone will ever be able to see them…right?
Christopher Ortiz is readjusting to life on earth and being constantly in the shadow of his deceased older brother. When a friend from NASA’s IT department forwards him the e-mails and video messages Hallie has sent, he can’t help but notice how much her sense of humor and pink hair make his heart race.
Separated by screens, Hallie and Chris are falling in love with each other, one transmission at a time. But can they make their star-crossed romance work when they each learn the other’s baggage?
A Cosmic Kind of Love is a fun and entertaining romantic comedy by author Samantha Young.
A Cosmic Kind of Love follows the story of Hallie and Chris. When event planner, Hallie receives an inspiration file from one of her clients, the last thing she expected were videos of her client’s ex, Chris. Hallie knows it’s wrong, but can’t help but watch the videos and before long, Hallie finds herself making and sending video diaries of her own to Chris. Even when Hallie’s emails bounce back, it doesn’t deter her from putting herself out there. Hallie and Chris’s connection starts out rather unconventional, but somehow these two start to fall for one another one transmission at a time.
Overall, I thought this book was such a cute and unique read. I loved the way that Hallie and Chris’s story started out. It was refreshing and unconventional. I loved getting to know Chris and Hallie. They were perfectly imperfect, with flaws and real insecurities. Their family lives were far from perfect and they were both no strangers to life’s disappointments. I think both of these characters experienced a lot of growth and I loved following their journey to happily ever after.
If I had one complaint about this book it would be that it had a bit of a slow start to it. It seemed to take a bit to really get the flow going, but once it did, I couldn’t put it down.
In the end, Samantha Young delivered a sweet and fun romantic comedy that kept me entertained and unable to walk away.

A missed opportunity five years ago makes for an unexpected encounter now between two people meant for each other – but who square off in a very public battle of wills in the small town of Love You, Maine, where every day is Valentine’s Day. Can love conquer all in a town steeped in it?
Kell Luview refuses to be a sucker at love again. Five years ago, he left D.C. with his tail between his legs and his heart broken. Fiercely protective of his small town in rural Maine, he’s determined to save the family tree business and avoid his feelings at all costs, no matter how much he longs to solve the mystery of what happened in D.C.
L.A. native Rachel Hart hates being underestimated almost as much as she hates this small town. She has two goals on this trip: get out of the cheesy tourist trap of Love You, Maine with a completed business deal, and avoid running into Kell, her old friend from D.C. who never became an old flame because of a huge misunderstanding.
One that still aches.
When her rental car breaks down on a logging road and Kell comes to her rescue, it’s clear he’s a changed man – and not for the good. Grumpy and reserved, he pushes all her buttons, still stubbornly convinced she betrayed him all those years ago. He’s never forgiven her, and she’s never forgiven herself for carrying a torch for him.
An embarrassing incident gets the town gossip mill going when residents wrongly assume Kell and Rachel are the newest couple to find love in the most romantic place on Earth. But the townsfolk aren’t wrong for long…
As Rachel breaks through his defenses and charms the town, he faces his biggest fear: all those pesky feelings he’s been avoiding.
Because they’re all about Rachel now.
And maybe they always were.
Can Kell and Rachel fight their growing attraction in the one place in the world where you can’t avoid love?
If you’re looking for a fun read about enemies to lovers, forced proximity, heroines who get their comeuppance and sworn bachelors felled by unexpected true love, featuring a hot bearded lumberjack impervious to poison ivy, and a city-slicker, jaded career woman with a penchant for great coffee, set in a small town in New England – then this is your book.
Grab a cup of (properly good) coffee, a can of hot cocoa mix, a jar of Fluff and maybe some calamine lotion (just in case), and get your happymeter ready as you read the very first book in New York Times bestselling romantic comedy author Julia Kent’s Love You, Maine series – where love isn’t just a feeling – it’s a way of life.
“Kell,” she whispered against his mouth. “Thank you.”
“For this.” She motioned at the romantic dinner he’d created for the two of them, the wide table in this conference room an ample spread for a…
“We haven’t even had dinner. Thank me after.”
She batted her eyelashes. “Is that an offer?”
“Rachel,” he said, moving his hand from her waist to cup her ass. “That’s more than an offer.”
He started to kiss her again, but she put her fingers on his lips. “If we don’t eat dinner first, we’ll never eat. And I have a meeting here in this very room, to try to pitch the deal again, in three days. Boundaries, Kell – boundaries. I refuse to have sex on this conference table.”
“The thought never, ever occurred to me,” he lied.
With a deep laugh he adored, she reached for the bottle of wine. “How about you uncork this and we start with a lovely glass.”

Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 4 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French, German, and Italian, with more titles releasing in the future.
From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men’s room toilet (and he isn’t a billionaire she met in a romantic comedy).
She lives in New England with her husband and three children where she is the only person in the household with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.
T Gephart is a USA Today and International bestselling author from Melbourne, Australia.
With an approach to life that is somewhat unconventional, she prefers to fly by the seat of her pants rather than adhere to some rigid roadmap. Her lack of “plan” has resulted in a rather interesting and eclectic resume, which reads more like the fiction she writes than an actual employment history. She’d tell you all about it, but the statute of limitations hasn’t expired yet. But all those crazy twists and turns have led her to a career she loves—writing romantic comedy.
When she isn’t filling pages with sassy and sexy characters with attitude, she’s living her own reality show in the ‘burbs of Melbourne with her American husband, two children, and her fur child—Woodley.
She loves adventure, to laugh, travel, and strives to live her life to the fullest.
King crab fisherman Fox Thornton has a reputation as a sexy, carefree flirt. Everyone knows he’s a guaranteed good time–in bed and out–and that’s exactly how he prefers it. Until he meets Hannah Bellinger. She’s immune to his charm and looks, but she seems to enjoy his… personality? And wants to be friends? Bizarre. But he likes her too much to risk a fling, so platonic pals it is.
Now, Hannah’s in town for work, crashing in Fox’s spare bedroom. She knows he’s a notorious ladies’ man, but they’re definitely just friends. In fact, she’s nursing a hopeless crush on a colleague and Fox is just the person to help with her lackluster love life. Armed with a few tips from Westport’s resident Casanova, Hannah sets out to catch her coworker’s eye… yet the more time she spends with Fox, the more she wants him instead. As the line between friendship and flirtation begins to blur, Hannah can’t deny she loves everything about Fox, but she refuses to be another notch on his bedpost.
Living with his best friend should have been easy. Except now she’s walking around in a towel, sleeping right across the hall, and Fox is fantasizing about waking up next to her for the rest of his life and… and… man overboard! He’s fallen for her, hook, line, and sinker. Helping her flirt with another guy is pure torture, but maybe if Fox can tackle his inner demons and show Hannah he’s all in, she’ll choose him instead?
In the follow-up to It Happened One Summer, Tessa Bailey delivers another deliciously fun rom-com about a former player who accidentally falls for his best friend while trying to help her land a different man…
Hook, Line, and Sinker is the much-anticipated follow-up to It Happened One Summer and is a must-read romantic comedy.
Hook, Line, and Sinker follows the story of Hannah and Fox. Fox is a man with a reputation and is known for giving the ladies a good time. But when Fox meets Hannah, all bets are off. Hannah isn’t falling for his charm or antics. For the first time in Fox’s life, a woman wants to be just friends. However the more time these two spend together, the more the lines of friendship start to blur…
Hook, Line, and Sinker was everything I was hoping it would be and then some. I loved the slow-burning romance between Hannah and Fox. These two were amazing friends and had an undeniable connection. Fox could charm the pants off of anyone, but Hannah refused to just be another notch on his bedpost. I really loved watching these two grow from friendship to more. I loved how much faith Hannah had in Fox, the way she built up his confidence, and showed him that even a player deserves more.
Hook, Line, and Sinker is a smartly written and entertaining romantic comedy. I loved being back in Westport and catching up with Piper and Brendan. Hannah and Fox’s story had me hooked from the first page and had me devouring their story in just a few short hours.
In the end, all that’s left to say is that I loved and adored this book. It checked off all of my boxes and was just the romantic comedy I was hoping it would be. Hook, Line, and Sinker is the perfect book to spend your day getting lost in. I hope you will fall head over heels for Hannah and Fox just as I have.
