By Teagan Hunter

Release Date: December 10

Don’t fall for your roommate…especially when he’s your best friend.

Cooper Bennett is my best friend.

That’s all he is and all he ever will be.

Nothing will change that.

Accidentally seeing him naked? Please. So not a big deal.

Having less-than-tame thoughts? I mean, have you seen this guy? Who could blame me?

Kissing him? It was a one-time mistake, and it will not be repeated.

Falling into bed with him? Uh-oh…

It’s fine. We’re fine.

We’re Caroline and Cooper. Best friends until the end. Nothing has ever come our way that we couldn’t survive together.

Surely, we can handle this too…

Jeremy pulled off his coat and slid his arms around Lydia, burying his nose in her neck. The strange sense of being perched on the edge of the world, obscured in white and disconnected from everything abated with each breath, the tick-tock of the mantel clock tracking a different kind of time.
“You’re wet!” Lydia squealed. “And stubbly!”
He didn’t stop. Her squirming turned to a tense freeze, then a slow melt in his arms. She stayed in place, he knew, because she sensed his need.
That was love. Real love.
Mike walked into Jeremy’s line of vision, carrying two open beers, one ready to hand to Jeremy. Ice-blue eyes met his, powerful and knowing. Something deeper than relief took over Jeremy’s cells as he stood there, Lydia touching him, Mike in the same frame, too.
His people. He had his people. That’s all he really needed.
“Hey,” Lydia said softly in his ear. “What’s wrong?”
Jeremy shook his head and just inhaled deeply. The change of plans was welcome. Christmas had come early to the small campground in Maine. He cradled Lydia’s face in his hands and kissed her, the taste of her tongue a tether, holding him in place, keeping him from tipping over the edge and into the pale, snowy abyss.
As the kiss deepened, he felt Mike’s hand on his shoulder, heard the cackle of Madge’s ribald comment, smelled the heady scent of burning wood.
And he was home.
Really home.

I’m good at hiding my feelings.
Having to pretend I’m not in love with my best friend?
Pfft. That’s child’s play.

Here’s how I do it: I avert my eyes when he walks out of his room, shirtless in all his toned glory. I squash the butterflies that fill my stomach every time he slowly unfurls a dimpled smile. And, most importantly, I keep an arsenal of “personal massagers” in my bedside drawer. Wink.

Not to brag, but Aiden Smith isn’t hard to resist if you’ve been doing it for as long as I have. In fact, we might have continued as best friends forever if not for the fact that I needed him to play the part of my fake boyfriend.

Date me like you mean it, I told him. Nudge nudge. C’mon, just go along with a little lie, help a girl out, and then we can all return to life as we know it.

Except he veered from the plan.

He crossed the line.

Flirting with me when no one else was around? Pinning me down and kissing me like that? Okay, how exactly is taking off my bra part of the ruse, Aiden?!
I’d ask him about it if I could, but well…things got ugly and we’re not best friends anymore.

In fact, we’re the exact opposite.

Now, I have to play nice even though I want to crush his heart in the palm of my hand.

Pretending not to love Aiden was the easy part.
Pretending not to hate him?
Well…I might need a little more practice.

“These are the words I’ve wanted to hear. They’re the words I imagined during so many lonely nights. But they’re just…words. They don’t change the past. They don’t repair the damage that’s already been done.”

“It feels like I can’t get her close enough. I want her inside me, part of me.”

“It’s the kiss of a lifetime. The kiss I’ve wanted for years. A kiss that comes right after the truth.”

R.S. Grey has knocked it out of the park with Date Me Like You Mean It. Aiden & Maddie’s story pulled me out of my reading rut and left me with the biggest smile on my face.

Date Me Like You Mean It is the latest romance novel from author R.S. Grey and it follows the story of Maddie and Aiden. For years, Maddie has harbored romantic feelings for her roommate Aiden but has never acted on them. She’s always been too afraid of the consequences and let’s face it, nothing is worse than admitting your feelings and finding out that they’re not reciprocated. So when Maddie needs a fake boyfriend, even though she shouldn’t do it, she asks Aiden to help. Only, fate had other plans in mind for these two, and Aiden deviated from the plan. In the end, Maddie was left with a broken heart and more confused than ever. It will be a year before these two are reunited. Maddie isn’t the same girl Aiden used to know and Aiden isn’t going to walk away without a fight…..

I love, love, loved absolutely everything about this book. From the very first page, I was hooked. I connected instantly with Maddie and loved her friendship with Aiden. Their banter was off the charts and entertaining. Their chemistry just flowed off the pages and left you dying for more. My heart ached right along with Maddie’s and I felt every bit of her frustration.

You see, Maddie and Aiden were the best of friends until one night everything got screwed up. If only they could have communicated better with one another, a lot of this pain and heartache could have been avoided. Maddie and Aiden had some of the most delicious will they/won’t they moments. The yearning so intense, it lept off the pages.

Together Maddie and Aiden were an excellent match. The road to happily ever after wasn’t an easy one for them, but neither one of them was willing to let go without a fight. I absolutely loved that about them. Neither one of them was perfect and both had me wanting to knock sense into them at times, but at the end of the day, I couldn’t help but root for this couple to find their happily ever after.

And I just have to say, Aiden is without a doubt a great book boyfriend. Is he perfect? No. Does he try to right his wrongs? Yes. Is he swoon-worthy? Without a doubt. Aiden is 100%, knock you off of your feet swoon-worthy and I just loved him!

Date Me Like You Mean It is a fantastic read and I absolutely adored every single second of it. Maddie and Aiden’s story delivered everything I wanted and then some. Date Me Like You Mean It had the perfect combination of swoon, romance, humor, and heart-tugging angst. Date Me Like You Mean It is easily one of my top reads from this author and I hope you’ll check it out and fall in love with this book just as I have.

Cover Reveal: Bet The Farm by Staci Hart

Cover Reveal: Bet The Farm by Staci Hart

Guys! I’m so excited! Staci Hart has a brand new rom-com standalone coming January 26rd! Bet the Farm is a heartfelt, flirty story of opposites attract and I cannot WAIT to read it! Mark your calendars and pre-order your copy today!

Amazon | AppleBooks | Kobo | B&N | Goodreads

Olivia Brent has one summer to save the dairy farm she just inherited.

But there’s one problem, and it’s not her lactose intolerance.

Jake Milovic.

The brooding farmhand has inherited exactly fifty percent of Brent Farm, and he’s so convinced the city girl can’t work the land, he bets she can’t save it in a summer.

Determined to prove him wrong, Olivia accepts what might be the dumbest wager of her life.

His strategy to win seems simple: follow her around, shirtlessly distracting her between bouts of relentless taunting. And it’s effective—if his dark eyes and rare smiles aren’t enough to sidetrack her, the sweaty, rolling topography of the manbeast’s body would do the trick.

What they don’t know: they’ll have to weather more than each other.

Mysterious circumstances throw the farm into disarray, and with the dairy farm in danger, Olivia and Jake have to work together. But when they do, there’s more to fear than either of them imagined.

Because now their hearts are on the line, and the farm won’t be the only casualty if they fail.

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

Release Blitz: Ghosted by Kat Addams

Title: Ghosted
Author: Kat Addams
Genre: Paranormal Romantic Comedy
Release Date: October 23, 2020

Rub one out with this genie, and you’re guaranteed to get more than three wishes.

As a workaholic writer, I’m used to chasing down the latest story. As a single lady, I’m also used to pursuing that perfect O, all by my lonesome.

But this time, the story is a ghost hunt … literally.

My hometown of Morningwood has been experiencing supernatural activity lately, and I’m headed home to investigate the ridiculous rumors.

I don’t believe in ghosts. At least, I didn’t until a sexy, comedic genie named Dylan popped out of a big blue dildo and right into my bed. I’m certain this is a postorgasmic haze, or maybe I’m dreaming. But this ghostly guy can ride my magic carpet anytime.

Dylan has lost his ability to grant wishes, thanks to a spell from my witchy great-aunt Karen, but he’s never lost his magic touch.

Talk about horny and hexed!

The only way to break his curse is to find the matching toy to his “lamp,” hidden in a town I’m now convinced might be haunted.

From boogeymen to butt plugs, our hilarious adventure is nothing short of epic!

Review: The Bookworm’s Guide to Dating (The Bookworm’s Guide #1) by Emma Hart

Posted on

What I wanted for my birthday: Books.

What I got for my birthday: my brother’s best friend playing matchmaker.

Let it be known that I, Kinsley Lane, am one hundred percent against being set up with somebody.

And I’m one thousand percent sure that Josh Carter is not the man to find me a boyfriend.

I mean, if I’m so great, why isn’t he the one dating me? (For the record, I don’t know the answer. That’s just what the guy on the internet asked.)

Still, I’ll humor him. If I go on his little dates, he’ll teach my bookish, introverted self how not to be totally, completely, utterly, unforgivably awkward on every single one of them.

And all I have to do is fall in love with one of the lovely gentlemen he’s serving up for me on a silver platter—all of whom fit my very specific guidelines.

Simple, right?

It would be.

If only I could stop falling for Josh.

The Bookworm’s Guide to Dating follows the story of Kinsley and Josh. Kinsely is the ultimate bookworm. She’s addicted to the written word and wants nothing more for her birthday than books. However, Kinsley got more than she bargained for. The last thing she wanted was for her brother’s best friend to try and set her up. In spite of everything, Kinsley finds herself going along with Josh’s plan. Seems simple enough. Too bad Kinsley ended up falling for Josh instead….

Overall, I thought that this was a really cute book. Kinsley could be my soul sister. She’s an introvert who is completely addicted to books. However, when it comes to real-life romance, she’s a complete wreck. So, when Josh offers to help Kinsely find Mr. Right, she can’t help but jump at the offer. Unbeknownst to Kinsley, Josh has had a crush on her for the longest time and never acted on it because Kinsley’s brother is his best friend. The last thing he really wants to do is set Kinsley up with another man, but maybe, just maybe this might be what Josh needs to finally get over the woman he can’t have.

The Bookworm’s Guide to Dating is a fun and entertaining read. The characters are real and easy to connect with. Josh and Kinsley’s romance is the ultimate slow burn that will leave you begging for more. Their story has the perfect balance of romance, drama, humor, and sexy good times.

When it comes to romantic comedies, Emma Hart never disappoints. This story is filled with her signature heart and humor. Josh and Kinsley’s story stole my heart and I had the best time getting lost in their story.

Pride & Papercuts by Staci Hart is coming soon!!

Only two more weeks!! Staci Hart is heading back to her Austen series and bringing us Pride & Papercuts, a modern love story inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice!

Hate is a strong word.

Depending on the company, loathe is a good substitute. Abhor might be a little fancy, but it gets the job done. But the word that really sums up how I feel about Liam Darcy is, without question, hate.

He doesn’t seem to think much of me either. The second he lays his fault-seeking eyes on me, he sets out to oppose me. Everything about him is imposing, as if he consumes the nearby air to power the rise and fall of his broad chest, and it’s clear he resents my presence on his advertising team. Every idea I have is shot down. Every olive branch I offer is set on fire by nothing more than the blistering coals he calls eyes.

In return, I light him up with my words.

It’s not as if he can dismiss me, since I work for his client, Wasted Words. Instead, he’s forced to tolerate me, which seems the closest we’ll ever be to friends. Fine by me.

I can be civil and still hate Liam Darcy.

But if there’s more to him than his exterior shows, I won’t be able to hate him at all. I might stumble over that line between love and hate and fall right into his arms.

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. Review: Swing and a Mishap (Summersweet Island #2) by Tara Sivec

“Hawks fans still in shock after centerfielder, Shepherd Oliver, sustained season-ending injury last night in the 5th inning of the playoffs against Chicago.”

Two years ago, I was a pretty big deal. I thought I had it all, until a blast from my past popped up on my social media feed, keeping my ego in check and reminding me how basic I am. Except sassy Wren Bennett isn’t just a blast from my past. She’s the only woman I ever saw a future with.

Even though my soul leaves my body every time she says she hates baseball and has never watched me play, a year’s-worth of messages filled with laughter and sarcasm only remind me how amazing my “pen pal” is. Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter how fine I look in a pair of baseball pants; I’m still 3,000 miles away, and she’s taken… or so I thought. Maybe I should have thought a little harder before I dropped her like a seeing-eye single into the outfield.

When an injury has me questioning everything about my life, I can only think of one place I need to go and one person I need to see. Home, to Summersweet Island, to get back my “pen pal.”

Now I just need to make sure single mom Wren knows I didn’t come back for a change, and I didn’t come back for a job. I’m swinging for the fences, and I’m finally coming home to make her mine. If only she’d stop insulting me and stay in one place long enough for me to tell her. She wouldn’t try to drown me with a tub of ice cream, right?

I’m sure it’ll be fine.

Add to Goodreads

Swing and a Mishap is the second book in the Summersweet Island Series and it follows the story of Shepherd and Wren. When it comes to baseball, Shepherd was a pretty big deal. He thought he had it all until a blast from the past gave him a glimpse of something he never knew he wanted. Wren and Shephard had the most amazing conversations and chemistry that was off the charts. The only problem, Wren was 3000 miles away. When Shepherd experiences a game changing injury, it makes him make the biggest mistake of his life. He cut off all ties to the woman he wanted. Now, a year later, Shepherd is ready to take back what he wants in his life and the first stop is winning the girl. Will Wren be able to forgive and forget? There’s only one way to find out….

Overall, I thought this book was a really enjoyable read. The plot was fun and entertaining. I thought Wren was a total riot. I loved her sarcasm and snark. She wasn’t afraid to be herself and I loved the confidence she gained by being around Shepherd. He brought out the fire in her and I couldn’t wait to see what would come of it. And then we’ve got Shepherd. Poor Shepherd. He put his foot in his mouth more times than I can count. But when he messes up, he owns up to it and will do whatever it takes to make it right. Shepherd is the definition of swoon and boy does he ever pull out the big guns to win Wren over. Together these two characters were a lot of fun. I loved their banter and the overall ease of their relationship. Their chemistry was explosive and I loved the Shepherd was with Wren.

Swing and a Mishap was fun and left me with a big smile on my face. This book made me laugh and swoon all at the same time and it had just the right amount of drama to shake things up. If you’re looking for a fun romantic comedy, then look no further, Swing and a Mishap is just the book you’re looking for. I hope you’ll give this book a try and fall head over heels for the characters as I have!

I’ve fallen victim to a heinous act.

An act so vile, so downright dirty, that I’m not sure as a twenty-year-old man I’ll ever recover. Brace yourself, because what I’m about to tell you might have you gasping in secondhand horror.

Ready? Here it goes . . .

I’ve recently become the pawn of a meddling mom.

Yes . . . A MEDDLING MOM–who’s been trying to set me up all summer.

Now, I understand it’s not a crime for a mother to want her child to fall in love, but when she makes it her relentless MISSION, the heinous act should be classified as a misdemeanor at least.

Of course, my mom, the evil matriarch in the devil’s leggings, made her final stab at finding a girl for me days before I went back to college.

And I hate to admit it, but she saved a doozy for last.

A titan in black skinny jeans.

A boss of nonchalance.

And a girl who would not only turn my life upside down, but do it while juggling a soccer ball, looking effortlessly gorgeous around campus, and is one hundred percent against relationships. Of any sort.

Thanks, Mom.

I’ve fallen victim to a heinous act.

An act so vile, so downright dirty, that I’m not sure . . .

as a son,

as a member of society,

as a twenty-year-old man . . . I will ever recover.

I see the concern in your eyes, your hand wandering up your chest to clutch the collar of your sensible cotton shirt, scared to find out the truth.

Brace yourself against something sturdy, because what I’m about to tell you might just knock you back on your ass in horror.

*Deep breaths, everyone*

I’ve recently become the pawn of a meddling mom.

Yup, you read that right. A MEDDLING mom.

The bane of a son’s existence.

I know what you’re wondering . . . what did she do? Make me pick up my socks during summer break?

*Woe is you*

*Grow up*

You grow up!

Ehhh, that was a little harsh. But before you go and put your judgy face on, you need to know the difference between a nagging mom and a meddling mom.

A nagging mom is one who storms into the living room while you’re trying to watch the series finale of Game of Thrones, complaining about the dishes in the sink you swore you’d take care of once you found out who took the throne.

Nag, nag, nag—part of the daily routine of the person who birthed you, or in this case, one of two moms who adopted me.

But a meddling mom, oh boy. They’re a fresh kind of hell wrapped up in high-waisted leggings and muted tunics. This isn’t some everyday mom who texts you GIFs of squirrels playing with a hula hoop. Nope, meddling moms have an agenda.

An agenda that they believe benefits their children. But it really benefits them . . . and only them.

In this case, my mom’s agenda: get Lincoln to fall in love.

I understand it’s not a crime for a mother to want her child to fall in love, but let me tell you. When she makes it her mission when you’re home from college, it should be classified as a misdemeanor.

That’s right, all freaking summer, my mom has made it her duty to set me up with girl after girl, all of whom she’s met in our hometown Kalamazoo, Michigan. I’d like to say I’m exaggerating that she made a list and set me up with every eligible girl—one by one—but I’m not.

I saw the Excel spreadsheet on her computer.

Girls who were highlighted in red were a no-go.

Girls in green still had a fighting chance.

Girls in yellow? Apparently, I had lukewarm interaction with them, but they showed promise.

Why is she so desperate for me to fall head over heels?

Can you believe she’s been spending time on the Internet, researching relationship statuses of major league baseball players? Well, she has. Too much time. And she said she didn’t want me to end up forty, about to retire, with nothing to say for my life other than that I was able to throw a ball off a mound.

She also wants a girl to fawn over.

When my mothers were adopting, Mom hoped for a girl, but Mama hoped for a boy. Don’t get me wrong, my mom loves me more than anything—hence the meddling and nagging—but she always wanted to do girly things with me, like have tea parties, get our toenails done, shit like that.

Side note: I’ve done the pedicure thing with her, and it’s not that bad.

But she wants a daughter, and apparently, a daughter-in-law is the next best thing.

Which brings me back to my summer of “not love.” I wanted nothing to do with these girls and after my mom’s eighth attempt to set me up—yes, eight—I told her enough was enough. I was done.

And thankfully she listened . . . until the last Saturday before I left for school.

The evil matriarch in the devil’s leggings made her final stab at finding a girl for me.

And I hate to admit it, but she saved a doozy for last.

A fucking titan in black skinny jeans.

A boss of nonchalance.

And a girl who will not only turn my life upside down, but do it while juggling a soccer ball, looking effortlessly gorgeous, and is one hundred percent against relationships. Of any sort.

Thanks, Mom.

*Thumbs up*

Your meddling has made me absolutely miserable.

The Setup is a laugh out loud, entertaining romance.

The Setup follows the story of Lincoln and Indie. From the moment I met Lincoln and his moms, I was in love. Not only did Lincoln have an unbelievable bond with his moms, but I just loved his moms meddlesome ways. They just wanted their boy to be happy and the lengths they went through to find him happiness just brought a smile to my face. In the end, all of the meddlings worked because if it wasn’t for Lincoln’s mom, Lincoln would have never met Indie….

Some things you should know about Lincoln. He’s a terrific athlete. He’s a great friend. He’s loyal and supportive. Definitely, someone, you’d want in your corner. And then we have Indie, who is also an athlete. So, she gets Lincoln and understands the pressures of the game. She’s guarded when it comes to letting people get close. But, if she lets you in, you’re golden. For Lincoln, meeting Indie was a complete game-changer. Their relationship was the true definition of SLOW BURN. I loved how simple things were and how these two just fit. Their friendship was one for the books. They were each other’s person. But, deep down, their friendship was always destined to be more. The chemistry and passion between these two just sizzled. The closer they got, the more they were going to burn. I thought I was going to die waiting for these two to take the next step, but all that waiting just made it sweeter.

While I love Indie and Lincoln together, there was one thing that really bothered me. Indie and Lincoln’s story experiences quite the time jump towards the last 15-20% of the book and I just HATED it! They were separated for soooooooo long!! Their lives took them in different directions, but they tried to hold on to their “friendship”. There was some conflict towards the end that just killed me. I hated it. I wish I wish, I wish I could go into more detail, but since I can’t you’re just going to have to pick up this book for yourself to see what I’m talking about. My only other complaint was the ending. It felt so rushed and after everything that Lincoln and Indie went through, I wanted, no needed more.

The Setup was an entertaining and captivating read. I was glued to the pages and couldn’t wait to see how Indie and Lincoln’s story would play out. Yes, there were some moments that made me absolutely batty and left me wishing for more, but even with all of that, I loved every second of their journey. This book made laugh and swoon and it frustrated the heck out of me. And for me, that makes it one heck of an enjoyable read! I had a lot of fun getting swept up in The Setup and can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us readers next.
