“Who are you? And what do you want?”

This would have been a fine question to answer under normal circumstances but not when the question had come from a woman holding a shotgun aimed at my head. A large hat pulled low, shaded her face completely, those long, curly locks stuffed inside. And she wore a long trench-looking coat that covered her sleek body from shoulder to ankle. If I had seen this woman, first, I would have understood what everyone was talking about.

“I said, ‘what do you want?’ And you have about five seconds to answer before I put a slug in your chest.” She cocked the gun, the little pup hopping up and down, ear-piercing barks flying from its little mouth.

Review: This Feeling by Kelly Elliott

Posted on

Is there anything worse than getting dumped by your boyfriend in a very public, very humiliating way? How about agreeing to fake-date the jerk to help get his matchmaking mother off his back and make his new love interest jealous?

My friends and family don’t think so, but I’m getting Giants season tickets out of the deal. I can do anything for a short couple of months, right? However, when my ex’s sexier older brother, Delcan, moves back home, I realize I’m not that confident after all.

For five years, I’ve avoided Moose Village, New York, as much as possible for one reason: the girl I’ve crushed on since high school was already spoken for—by my brother. Now discharged from the military, I’m coming home, tentatively heartened by the fact that they’re no longer a couple. Except…it seems they are. But something’s different this time. Harper doesn’t seem as smitten as she was the first time around. Meanwhile, the chemistry sizzling between us is what I’ve dreamed of for years.

Even if I’m able to get to the bottom of the weird behavior between my brother and Harper, I’ve gone from one dangerous career to another. I’ve already got my anxious mother badgering me to quit. Will my career choice be too much for Harper, too?

I can only hope this feeling between the two of us is enough.

MY REVIEW

I am absolutely, without a doubt, in love with the Moose Village series from Kelly Elliott.

This Feeling follows the story of Declan and Harper. Declan has had a crush on Harper for as long as he can remember. But something always stood in the way, whether it was Harper’s younger age, his military career, or when she started dating Declan’s brother, Sean. The timing was just never right. But now that Declan’s time in the military is over, he’s ready to return home and hopefully, claim the woman he’s always wanted….

This Feeling is an unforgettable small-town romance that’s not afraid to pull out all the stops. I mean, you’ve got a fake relationship to throw off meddling parents, hilarious moments, off-the-charts chemistry, and a will-they/won’t-they romance that is sure to make anyone’s heart swoon. This book hits all the marks and has unforgettable side characters that you’ll be dying to know more about.

A must-read for lovers of swoon-worthy, small-town romances!

Review: Tempting Wyatt by Caisey Quinn

Posted on

A grumpy/sunshine, forced-proximity cowboy romance packed with sizzling chemistry, emotional tension, and small-town charm. Perfect for fans of slow-burn, steamy opposites-attract love stories.

Wyatt Logan doesn’t have time for distractions. His family’s ranch is hanging by a thread, developers are circling like vultures, and after his father’s sudden passing, the weight of Triple Creek Ranch rests squarely on his shoulders. The last thing he needs? A smart-mouthed Hollywood princess renting the cabin on his land.

Ivy Anderson is out of options. Hiding out in small-town Montana was never part of the plan, but after a painful scandal nearly destroys her career, she needs an escape. A quiet place to write. To heal. To disappear. She’s not here to make friends—or to catch the eye of the broody, infuriatingly handsome rancher who seems to hate her on sight.

But with their cabins only a few feet apart, avoiding each other isn’t an option. And every heated argument, every stolen glance, every accidental touch only fuels the fire between them.

He’s all rough edges and responsibility. She’s a flight risk with nowhere left to run. They’re complete opposites in every way. But when the line between love and hate blurs, falling for each other isn’t just possible—it’s inevitable.

Perfect for fans of Elsie Silver and Laura Pavlov, this slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance is full of tension, steam, and a swoon-worthy rancher who will steal your heart.

MY REVIEW

Caisey Quinn is back with a delicious and unforgettable forced proximity, grumpy sunshine romance.

Wyatt Logan has the weight of the world on his shoulders, and the last thing he needs is a distraction.  But when Ivy Anderson blows into town after having her heart broken, his entire world gets flipped upside-down.

From the moment we meet Wyatt and Ivy, the tension and chemistry explode off the pages. Wyatt is a grumpy, stubborn rancher who doesn’t have time for the likes of city girl, Ivy Anderson. However, there’s more to Ivy than meets the eye, and the more time Wyatt spends with her, the more she gets under his skin. What starts off as an enemies-to-lovers situation quickly turns into an unforgettable slow-burning romance that will have every woman wishing for her own dirty-talking rancher.

Tempting Wyatt is an entertaining read from beginning to end, with characters that are destined to steal your heart. With just the right amount of steam and drama, you won’t be able to put this book down. I had the best time getting lost in Wyatt and Ivy’s story and can not wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

🔥 HOT SHOT AVAILABLE NOW! 🔥

It’s finally here! Read it today for free in KU!!

“Smart, hilarious, and spicier than a ghost pepper — Hot Shot is fake marriage perfection with banter that bodied me.” — USA Today Bestselling Author Kandi Steiner

TROPES

🔥marriage of convenience

🔥he falls first

🔥single dad

🔥second chance

🔥small town

🔥smoking hot firefighter

🔥jilted bride

🔥first love

🔥baseball

🔥only one bed

🔥no third act breakup

Never thought I’d agree to a marriage of convenience to my hot, firefighter ex boyfriend.

Especially after he casually informs me we’ve been married for ten years.

Ten years ago, Wilder and I were so in love that we got married in Vegas for one night only before leaving for college on different sides of the world. He was supposed to mail the annulment papers.

Problem is, he didn’t.

Worse? He didn’t tell me.

Not even when I came back to town to marry another man.

But now he needs my help, and I can’t say no. All I have to do is have to pretend in front of the whole town like we’re married. Hold hands. Kiss. Not throw myself at him when he looks at me like I’m the only woman in the world.

My body might remember him, but the rest of me isn’t ready. Because I’m just learning how to find myself, and if I get wrapped up in Wilder’s world, I’ll lose more than my heart—I’ll lose everything.

Again.

MY REVIEW

Staci Hart is back and better than ever! She pulled out all the stops with Hot Shot, and I loved every second of it.

Hot Shot had everything I could possibly want and then some. I mean, you’ve got a hot firefighter ex who suddenly becomes a single dad, and you find out you’re still married to said ex. What started off as a marriage of convenience quickly evolved into something unforgettable, and I am here for it.

Wilder and Cass had the kind of connection people dream about. They were wild and passionate and completely devoted to each other. And despite being apart for 10 years, the Sparks between them never dulled. You could tell these two were meant to be, no matter how hard they tried to fight or deny it. And the fact that Wilder was 💯 alpha and used phrases like “My Wife”…..Need I say more?

If that wasn’t enough to make you swoon and lose your heart, just wait until you meet Cricket. This little girl’s world was turned upside down, and entered Wilder’s life at just the right moment. She was so sweet and adorable, and the mom in me just wanted to make her feel better.  I can definitely say she stole a piece of my heart.

Hot Shot took my breath away, and I couldn’t help but devour this book. It exceeded my expectations, and I just loved every second of Cass and Wilder’s journey.

Her skin is soft, her touch electric. “Thank you for being here tonight,” I say, meaning every word. “You’ve made me feel like the luckiest man in this room.”

“Jabari, you’re laying it on a little thick,” she says, though her eyes sparkle. She likes it—she can’t hide that, and honestly, I don’t want her to.

“Maybe. But you’re worth it,” I tease, my voice dropping lower.

Her laugh is soft, almost shy, and I swear it’s the sweetest sound I’ve heard all week. She drops her menu and lets out a frustrated sigh. “Ok, I give up; how do we order off this menu? There are too many small sections.”

I chuckle and lift my menu between us, my eyes meeting hers over the edge. “This is how it works,” I say, letting my voice drop to that rumble I know gets to her. “It’s a tasting menu. We pick a bunch of things to share.”

“Share?” She raises an eyebrow, a flicker of surprise flashing in her eyes. “You and-We’re going to share food?”

“Absolutely,” I say, grinning. “Tonight, I’m going to feed you.” The words roll off my tongue smooth as silk, and I don’t miss how her breath catches.

“I may love to eat, Jabari,” she says, leaning in just enough for her voice to wrap around me, “But I’m a picky eater. And this is a lot.”

“Trust me, you’ll savor every bite.” I know she’s thinking about the cost—practical to a fault—but that’s not her problem tonight. She’s with me, and when you’re with me, you don’t worry about a damn thing.

The waiter returns, and I rattle off our order: coco bread, cornbread, lamb, shrimp with a kick, lobster, and a plate of jollof rice and chicken. It’s comfort food—my food.

“Jabari, are you sure—” she starts, but I cut her off with a wink.

“Relax. I’ve got this.”

Dinner becomes its own kind of game. The air shifts, the tension turning warm and playful as she laughs at my jokes and throws back quick comebacks. I insist on feeding her—a piece of lamb here, a forkful of rice there. She fights it at first, her independence flashing in those eyes, but eventually, she softens.

Every time my fingers brush her lips, her body relaxes more. Every flick of her tongue, every quiet sigh, tightens something deep inside me. And if my pants get any tighter, my dick is going to bust through.

“Stop it,” she says, but her voice is weak, her protest half-hearted, when I lick a dollop of butter that fell to her fingers,

“Can’t.” My voice is rougher now because this woman is doing things to me I can’t ignore.

“Jabari…” Her tone shifts, and there’s no mistaking the heat simmering in her words.

“Sierra.” I hold her gaze, daring her to admit what’s building between us. She doesn’t, but she doesn’t have to. It’s all there, written in how her lips part and body lean just a little closer to mine.

The moment is interrupted when the waiter drops the check on the table, but Sierra moves fast, her hand darting out like lightning to grab it.

“Sierra,” I warn, my voice steady but low. “Don’t even think about it.”

“It’s just a check, Jabari,” she says, feigning innocence, but the spark in her eyes gives her away.

“Touch it, and I’ll take you over my knee right here,” I say, my voice dropping to a growl. “Spank you until you’re a real redbone.”

She gasps, her cheeks flushing that perfect shade of pink. “You wouldn’t dare.”

“Try me,” I shoot back, my jaw tightening as I dare her to test me.

Her hand retreats, and she pouts, crossing her arms with a defiance that only makes me want her more.

“Good girl,” I say, my voice softer but no less firm. It’s not a dig—it’s appreciation. This woman is fire, and I want to get burned.

I stand, holding out my hand. For a moment, she hesitates, but then her fingers slide against mine, and it feels like victory.

“Come on, Siren,” I say, my voice coaxing. “Let’s return to Chesapeake Heights and walk by the water.”

“Jabari, I live here in the city; that’s almost an hour away. Are you going to want to bring me back home?”

“No, but I will,’ I say with a wink. Plus, it’s Friday night. We’ve got nothing but time.”

MY REVIEW

Wow, oh, wow, Kelly Elliott! I did not see this book coming.

This Moment is a small-town second-chance romance that follows the story of Kian and Cadie. Cadie is on the run and looking for a fresh start. She ends up in Moose Village, purely by accident and can’t help but fall in love with the small town. The last thing she expected was the charming Kian…Kian is tired of living the life his parents demanded and is ready for a change. He moved back home to Moose Village to clear his head and figure out his next step. The last thing he expected was Cadie.

From the moment these two met, the sparks between them oozed off the pages. I loved how supportive Kian was and how he didn’t get turned off by Cadie’s past. Sure, he was intrigued, but he trusted that she would confide in him when she was ready. And the more time these two spent together, the more I couldn’t help but root for their happily ever after.

The road to happily ever after was definitely a bumpy one for Kian and Cadie. I loved the twists, turns, and oh, so satisfying moments. And when Cadie’s past finally catches up to her, I was definitely left holding my breath.

All in all, This Moment was a terrific read from beginning to end and I can not wait to read more books from the Moose Village series!

As we walk, I feel Jabari’s presence before I see him, his shadow a faint whisper behind Ann’s confident steps. When I steal a glance over my shoulder, there he is—hands clasped tightly behind his broad back, his expression unreadable but his posture screaming control. He’s a silent guardian, watchful and unrelenting.

I whip my head back around, pretending not to notice him, but the heat of his gaze burns into the small of my back like a brand. It’s steady and searing; I feel it no matter how much I try to shake it off. I bite my lip, fighting the overwhelming urge to glance again, refusing to give him the satisfaction of knowing how much his stare rattles me.

Instead, I focus on the uneven trail, willing myself to stay composed, but fate has other plans. My foot catches on a big, stubborn, and perfectly placed root to send me sprawling.

Time slows as I lurch forward, bracing for the harsh sting of dirt and gravel against my skin. But it never comes.

Instead, strong arms yank me back, wrapping around me like a vice and holding me steady before the ground can claim me. His touch impacts me like a lightning strike, sending electricity coursing through me as I gasp at the warmth of his body pressed against mine. His chest is solid, his grip firm, and for a moment, I lean into him, caught between the safety of his embrace and the unmistakable charge sparking in the air between us.

“Careful, Siren,” Jabari murmurs, his voice low and rough against my ear. The way he says it sends shivers down my spine, his tone full of something I can’t quite name but feel everywhere. “We can’t have you hurting yourself.”

Before I can process the warmth of his breath against my skin and the solidity of his presence behind me, he sets me upright and steps back. His hands fall away as quickly as they came, leaving me cold and off balance in more ways than one.

I catch my breath, my heart racing for reasons that have nothing to do with the near fall and everything to do with the man standing behind me.

“My name is Sierra,” I mutter as I move past him.

Ann continues, blissfully unaware of the hot mess unfolding behind her. When she suddenly stops, she turns and smirks at her son but doesn’t say a word. Instead, she gestures to a green clearing encircled by towering, venerable oaks. “And here is where we host our annual jazz festival,” she says. “Every first week of July, music becomes the heartbeat of Chesapeake Heights.”

“Sounds amazing,” I reply, my voice faltering just a little, caught in the pull of Jabari’s eyes. He might as well be wrapped in caution tape, the way he stands so still, so controlled. His fitted tee clings to his muscular frame like a second skin, and every inch of him exudes power and restraint.

I want him to unravel.

“Sierra, are you alright?” Ann’s concerned voice breaks through my reverie.

“Absolutely,” I lie, offering a brittle smile. The truth is, Jabari makes me nervous, not because of his brooding demeanor, but because there’s something in his guarded gaze that threatens to scale the walls I’ve built around my heart with ease.

When You Were Mine by Erika Kelly is now live!

Planning a wedding for the ex-husband who left her in Vegas was not on her To-Do list.

Jessica Elsworth isn’t the small town girl she used to be. She built her resort empire from pieces of a broken heart. Now, she’s on her way to snowy Iceland to take on a last-minute consulting job where she’ll renovate a hotel for a wedding.

Four days and two hundred thousand dollars. It should be easy.

Until she meets the groom. It’s him. Trevor Montgomery. The only man she’s ever loved. And her ex-husband.

Trevor Montgomery might be one of the world’s most famous faces, but he’ll always be the boy from Wyoming with stars in his eyes.

Recently retired, he’s heading to Iceland to marry his best friend’s little sister. She’s proposed a marriage of convenience—business and friendship together in one union. Why not?

Everything’s going well…until he meets the wedding planner. It’s Jessica. The woman who still owns his heart.

Now that fate’s brought them together, nothing will stop him from winning her back.

Not even his own wedding.
