Review: Unwritten(Beachwood Bay #7) by Melody Grace

Posted on

He’s my best friend’s brother – and the only boy I’ve ever loved. Movie star, manwhore, and totally off-limits.

Until now.

I told myself it was time to move on, until one epic night changed everything. Now there’s no denying the way I feel when he touches me, or the reckless desire in his eyes.

Once we cross that line, there’s no going back. But can I risk it all for him when he’s still hiding secrets of his own?

Some love stories are destiny. Ours is still unwritten.

The new steamy, swoon-worthy stand-alone from New York Times bestselling author, Melody Grace.

My Review

“You can hope and dream for something for years, and then get exactly what you always wanted, and it’s nothing like you thought it would be. Real life isn’t a dream, Blake. It’s a lot messier and more painful than that”

Unwritten follows the story of Blake and Zoey.  Zoey has always felt like an outsider. Her parents live a very busy life, never really having time for her. She’s been shipped off from one school to another, basically raising herself. She had no friends. She was just alone. That is until she meets Blake. Blake gave her some kind words and showed her that she didn’t need to hide who she was and that one day, things would be better. It was that moment that she fell for Blake….Years have passed and he never saw Zoey as anything other than the little sister type. Until one day, Zoey decided to take matters into her own hands, making Blake open his eyes to what’s always been in front of him. Will Blake finally open his eyes and take a chance?

It’s no secret that I am a big fan of the Beachwood Bay series, so when I find out that there is a new book coming out, I get completely giddy. I am addicted to this series and the characters. And this book was no exception. I fell in love instantly and couldn’t stop myself from devouring each page.

This book had everything that I’ve come to know and love from the Beachwood Bay Series. It had the perfect amount of angst/drama, romance, and steam. The story flowed really well and the characters were super easy to connect with.

Blake was a charming, fun guy. But, in reality, he’s just pretending. He has a lot of self loathing and has built his walls so high, that it makes it impossible to get through. He’s so afraid to take a chance on something real and his fears almost make him miss out on something truly amazing.

“He needs me. I can feel it in the passion of his kiss, the desperate way he clings to me, trying so hard to express what words fail to convey. That this is everything. Him and I, together, right here. I fall into the moment, and know that no matter how hard I try, I could never find a love like this again”

Zoey….I felt so bad for her. Always on her own, never really feeling like she had a place in life, friends of her own or a place to call home. I just wanted to give her the biggest hug and tell her things would get better. She was such a kind person and always in Blake’s corner, even when he didn’t deserve it. Their road to their HEA was a bumpy one, but once they both got over their insecurities, it was so worth it.

There is a moment at the end, where a scene from one of my favorite movies was played out and that just made my heart swoon. I still can hear the song from that movie in my head. What am I talking about? Well, you’ll just have to read it, won’t you?

Unwritten is a wonderful addition to The Beachwood Bay series. It is a great friends to lovers story that will frustrate you, make you swoon and have you wanting to read more. If you are a fan of the Beachwood Bay series, you will not be disappointed. I definitely recommend checking this one out!
