BEYOND WHAT IS GIVEN
Flight & Glory #3
Rebecca Yarros
Releasing Sept 28th, 2015
Entangled Embrace
Lt. Grayson Masters is focused on graduating the Apache helicopter course, and the last thing he needs is his gorgeous new roommate Samantha Fitzgerald distracting him. While her smart mouth and free spirit are irresistibly irritating, he can’t deny their off-the-charts chemistry, no matter how hard he tries.
Having just been expelled from college, Sam has no business digging for Grayson’s secrets while she’s hiding her own, but that doesn’t stop her from trying to tear down his walls. Each barrier she busts through drops one of her own, though, and she’s not prepared for the truth: another woman laid claim to Grayson’s heart long ago.
Falling in love is something neither Grayson nor Sam can afford, and when that line is crossed and secrets are exposed, they’ll learn that sometimes it’s the answered prayers that will put you through hell.

“She makes me feel like I’m flying my helicopter. Free. Like I’m standing on the edge of something I can barley control, and it could be the most amazing ride of my life, or I could burn one into the ground.”
What an amazing addition to this series! Beyond What Is Given is beautifully written and captivating. The story pulls you in from the very first page grabs a hold of your heart, refusing to let it go. From the moment I met Samantha and Grayson, I was immediately intrigued by the two of them. They both seemed to have mysterious pasts and demons that ruled their lives. Grayson didn’t make the best first impression on Samantha, but as time went on, the two of them formed a great friendship. However, the chemistry and connection between the two of them refused to stay on a friendly level. The connection they shared demanded to be noticed and acted upon. And let me tell you, these two had scorching chemistry. I couldn’t put my kindle down. I had to see how things would play out with these two. I could only hope that when the truth about their pasts came out, that they would be strong enough to handle the outcome.
Beyond What Is Given really tugged at my heart. This story took me on one heck of a roller-coaster ride. I had so many feels, so many emotions. Samantha and Grayson’s story definitely wasn’t an easy one. Both of their pasts just broke my heart; especially Grayson’s. Grayson’s story brought a whole new meaning to the word complicated, but in the end, I just wanted to see him happy. He was such a good, honest, loyal man and he really deserved a HEA.
One of my favorite moments was this: “Don’t do this. Do not leave me. I will get on my knees if that’s what you need, but don’t give up on us.” “Give me one good reason.” “Because I fucking love you!” The words carried through the room, the hallway, the house, my whole soul. “I’m in love with you, Samantha. You own me, body, heart, mind, soul, whatever there is to give, it’s yours.” This moment is so powerful. So moving. You can feel the emotion and angst of the moment. My heart swooned and these words owned ME. This passage is a perfect example as to why I could not put this book down!
Once again, Rebecca Yarros has completely blown me away. She has once again given me an amazing story that has completely stolen my heart. The characters are complex and broken, but so easy to connect with. I loved the secondary characters; many of whom I’m already familiar and love and adore. There were also a few new faces, that I’d love to hear more about. Fingers crossed on that!
Beyond What Is Given was a really great read. I loved everything about it from start to finish and I can not wait to see where Rebecca Yarros will take us next.

Rebecca Yarros is a hopeless romantic and lover of all things chocolate, coffee, and Paleo. In addition to being a mom, military wife, and blogger, she can never choose between Young Adult and New Adult fiction, so she writes both. She’s a graduate of Troy University, where she studied European history and English, but still holds out hope for an acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Her blog, The Only Girl Among Boys, has been voted the Top Military Mom Blog the last two years, and celebrates the complex issues surrounding the military life she adores.
When she’s not writing, she’s tying on hockey skates for her kids, or sneaking in some guitar time. She is madly in love with her army-aviator husband of eleven years, and they’re currently stationed in Upstate NY with their gaggle of rambunctious kiddos and snoring English Bulldog, but she would always rather be home in Colorado.
