The rugged men of the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team are winning hearts once again in another scorching novel fromNew York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett.

The stakes have never been higher for Carolina Cold Fury goalie Ryker Evans. With his contract running out, he’s got a year left to prove he’s still at the top of his game. And since his wife left him, Ryker has been balancing life as a pro-hockey star and a single parent to two daughters. Management is waiting for him to screw up. The fans are ready to pounce. Everybody’s taking dirty shots—except for the fiery redhead whose faith in Ryker gives him a fresh start.

As the league’s only female general manager, Gray Brannon has learned not to mix business with pleasure. And yet even this tough, talented career woman can’t help breaking her own rules as she gives Ryker everything she’s got. She hopes their hot streak will last forever, but with Ryker’s conniving ex plotting to reclaim her man, the pressure’s on Gray to step up and save a tender new love before it’s too late.

My Review

“For the first time in my life, I feel interest in something other than my career. I feel need. I feel happy. I feel cherished. I. Feel. Everything. And I don’t want to let it go.”

When we first met up with Ryker in Zack’s story, I have to tell you; he was someone I wanted to know more about. Ryker was a newly single father, just trying to get a handle on things. I couldn’t wait to finally hear his story…..

Ryker has everything going for him. He’s at the top of his game, and he’s an amazing dad to his two young daughters. However, thanks to his cheating ex-wife, he’s made some not so good decisions, which has everyone just waiting for him to mess up again. Things are about to be shaken up even more when his team announces that they’ve hired a female general manager. And let me tell you, this more than ruffles a few feathers. Gray has got her work cut out for her. Gray is not only beautiful, but super smart. But she’s living in a man’s world, trying to do a man’s job and a lot of people aren’t ok with that. In fact, one of her only supporters is Ryker. Ryker should be off limits, but there’s just something about him that just keeps pulling her in. Will Gray give into what she wants with Ryker? Or will they both learn the hard way that you shouldn’t mix business with pleasure?

Overall, I really enjoyed this read. I loved a good work place romance and this one did not disappoint. It had a really great forbidden quality to it. Ryker and Gray entering into a secret relationship because it would ruin both of their careers. I loved the chemistry between Ryker and Gray. It was hot and undeniable. I loved watching the two of them together and seeing how they would navigate this relationship that they were in.

Ryker was a quick and easy read for me. Sawyer Bennett once again delivers a perfectly balanced book that leaves me begging for more. It hit all the marks for me, giving me just the right mix of angst, romance, drama and scorching hot sexy times. The main characters are intriguing and easy to connect with. Their problems are those that real people face down everyday; making them even easier to relate to. The secondary characters are a joy as always. I can never say no to more Alex, Garrett or Zack. It’s impossible not to love those guys.

I honestly can’t say enough about this book or this series. I fell in love with this series when I first met Alex and kept coming back for more. Each book giving me more amazing stories and characters. As this series/this book comes to an end, my only complaint is that it’s over. However, these characters will live on, on my kindle forever. Fans of this series, I definitely recommend checking this one out and hope you fall in love with Ryker and Gray the way I did.
