Review: Pretty Lost Dolls (Pretty Stolen Dolls #2) by Ker Dukey & K. Webster

15085543_1861855604094825_1500286618426004178_nBenny had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick.
Just like him, his dolly needed darkness as a fix, fix, fix.
So they tormented and hunted and played tricks, tricks, tricks.
Together their sins a lethal mix, mix, mix.

Until Benny missed his dolly who was lost, lost, lost.
He needed to find her and love her at any cost, cost, cost.
Not wanting him and his dolly to be alone, lone, lone.
He made plans to bring his dirty dolly, home, home, home.

Have you ever touched another’s soul with the essence of your own, breathed them in so they become apart of you?
I have.
Finally starting to live, feel and fall in love, amongst all the chaos surrounding me.
Dropping my guard and letting another into my heart.
I left my soul open.
I left my heart open.
I left the door open.
And he stole me.
Dillon…I’m sorry.

My Review

“Love is a savage beast trapped within me, thickening, and savoring its desire laid out before it.”

“I may have been free from my cell, but I’d always be caged inside the walls of my mind–where he’s still the master. Intoxicating and unyielding.”

Pretty Lost Dolls, there is not much I can say about you because I don’t want to spoil it. But, holy hell did this story take me for a ride. This story and this twisted journey that K. Webster and Ker Dukey took me on was one for the books. Pretty Lost Dolls picks up right where the last book left off and will definitely keep you on pins and needles. These two incredibly talented authors will take you to the edge of your comfort zone, and then will push you past those limits of comfort. The tale that they have weaved is dark and intense and thrilling at the same time. There are crazy twists and unexpected turns. And an ending that will leave your mind racing.

Pretty Lost Dolls is incredibly well written and is one shocking and entertaining read. This book/series is the perfect one for a buddy read because you might want someone to hold your hand as you go along for this crazy and twisted ride….

Review: This is Love, Baby (War & Peace #2) by K. Webster

Posted on

thisislovebaby

My War was over and I had lost. My captor reminded me I was nothing more than his pawn.
His strategy never changed…it was always me.

But what he didn’t know was that LOVE always wins.

In my War, I’d found not only peace
but LOVE as well.

I’d been through a battlefield with my War and LOVE was what brought us to the other side.
Our LOVE was beautiful and pure. Undying.

My captor thinks he has won this war. That I will LOVE him.
What he doesn’t know is this time, I’m the one with a strategy. I’m always thinking several moves ahead of him, my War taught me that.

I will outsmart him and find peace again.
This is a war I will win.
My LOVE will conquer all.

Warning:
This is Love, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes and violence which could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. Terrible, terrible things happen to our poor heroine, so you’ve been properly warned. This story is NOT for everyone.

My Review

“She’s my center. My nucleus. My only reason. I can only exist fully with her. And I’m nothing without her.”

“War is worth the peace.” My words are honest and true. War is worth everything.

“Fate may be the evil bitch but it’s Love who is the stubborn one. Love doesn’t care if you think you’re undeserving or unworthy. Love doesn’t give a rat’s ass about your past or who you’ve hurt along the way. Love doesn’t care if you have blood on your hands. Love is selfish and she always gets what she wants. And Love is the one who’s teamed up with Fate. They, for some crazy-ass reason, think I deserve this beautiful life.”

K. Webster, you have done it again! If you think your mind was blown with This is War, Baby; think again. This is Love, Baby is the epic conclusion and it will take you on one hell of a ride. Once again, K. Webster has given us a book with a warning. She is preparing us that when we read this book, it’s going to be dark. It’s going to be intense. It is going to once again, push our limits and make us question everything. It warns us to listen to that warning. This book is not for everyone….

This is Love, Baby picks right up where the last book left off and let me tell you, it does not disappoint. Once again, you will be shocked and surprised. You will be taken out of your comfort zone and you will go on a wild ride. There will be lots of twists and crazy turns. You will finally know the truth and get the answers that you so very desperately seek. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and will have you devouring every singe word. It will be impossible for you to put down. You will not be able to look away. You will have to see how it all plays out. And I gotta tell you, I loved, loved the ending of this book. I could not have imagined a better ending for this story. It is absolute perfection and in the end, all I can say is well played, K. Webster, well played.

This is Love, Baby gave me everything I could have wanted in a sequel and more. Fans of this series and lovers of dark reads, this is a must read. You will not be disappointed!

Review: Pretty When You Cry by Skye Warren

prettywhenyoucry

“Dark, perverse, and unbearably erotic, Pretty When You Cry is Skye Warren at her gritty best.”
~ Anna Zaires, USA Today bestselling author of Twist Me

A new dark romance novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Wanderlust and Prisoner…

I came from a place of dirt floors and holy scriptures. They told me the world outside was full of sin, and the first night I escape, I find out it’s true. Ivan saves me, but he does more than that. He takes me. He makes me his own girl.

My conditioning runs too deep. Ivan sees what I am.

That’s the thing about showing a mouse to a cat. He wants to play. And it’s terrifying, even for me. Because the only thing darker than my past is his.

My Review

“I’m dangling off a cliff, and I’ll keep scrabbling at loose rocks on the way down. That’s all he can offer me: loose rocks. I know it’s going to hurt at the bottom–God, it will hurt. But I can’t keep grasping for him. I have to fall.”

Wow! Talk about a book that takes you out of your comfort zone!! This book has definitely done this for me. I’m a pretty open-minded reader and have read my fair share of dark reads, but this one….I wasn’t prepared for this one. Pretty When You Cry really takes you for a walk on the dark side…

Pretty When You Cry is dark. It’s intense. It’s kinky. It’s so twisted. It’s one of those books where you’re thinking to yourself, “What on earth have I gotten myself into?”, but you can’t look away. It’s got you hooked and even though it’s not your normal read, you find yourself unable to put it down. You have to know what happens next.

I have to say that this isn’t your average dark romance. There are no hearts and flowers here. There is no knight in shining armor racing to save the day. What you get are two broken, flawed people. The love and “relationship” that they share is not for everyone, but what they have works for them. These quotes, I think pretty much sum up Ivan and Candy’s story: “That’s how we are together–depraved and beautiful.” or “We are made of the same thing, he and I. Of sin and hope, of power and pleasure. We were made to dream.”

Pretty When You Cry was well-written, intriguing and definitely captivating. This is my first book, by this author and I’m sure it will not be my last. If you are a fan of the darker side of dark romances, I definitely recommend checking this one out!

Henry –
My past is gruesome and unforgettable no matter how hard I try to let go.
Writing is my escape. My only therapy.
When I met my wife, had children, and my career sky-rocketed, I thought I’d never revisit those dark days again.
So, the moment Blue Hill, Maine beckons for me, I go willingly in an effort to write the next big story.
But when a ghost from my past shows up, all of my carefully rebuilt walls come crumbling down hard and fast. My only way of defense is ripped from my grasp as this distraction bounces into my life.
Will I be able to sift through what’s fiction to find reality?

Eli –
I’m a serial killer. A victim of narcissism and the need to satisfy my own urges. I have a thirst to snuff out the lives of those that remind me of her—the woman that ruined me—and I take great pleasure in quenching that thirst.
I have no rules. No parameters. I do as I please.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Henry McElroy, is my god. His sick, twisted mind constructs the world to which I rule. I would be nothing without him—my dark creator.

***
What happens when Henry McElroy’s story begins to take a realistic form the moment he sets foot in the sleepy, seaside town in Maine? As soon as he begins sharing excerpts of his book with his fans on social media, including an obsessive one he meets in Blue Hill, bodies begin to stack up in similar fashion to that of which he writes about. Will the blame be placed on the town’s newest and most twisted visitor? Or will Henry be able to prove his innocence and clear his name before it’s too late?

My Review

BOOM! My mind has been blown! I can’t even right now! I have no words. Like what did I just read??

I’m going to be honest with you, I had no real idea what I was going into when I picked up this book. All I knew was that one of my favorite authors was writing a new series under a new pen name. Who is this author, you might ask? It’s author K. Webster. Now, if you know me, then you know that I am a big, huge fan of her books. But, let me tell you, this book; it’s unlike anything you’ve read from her before!

Blue Hill Blood is unique. It is dark. It is twisted. It will blow your freaking mind. This is not a hearts and flowers type of book and is definitely not for the faint at heart.  I found myself on the edge of my seat from the very first page. That’s right. The. Very. First. Page. From that moment I was hooked. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. All I knew was that I had to read more. And the more I read, the more desperate I was for information.

Blue Hill Blood is well written and captivating. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. You will easily get lost in the world and characters that Elizabeth Gray has created. This story will mess with your mind as you try to put all the pieces together. The twists and turns will keep you guessing right until the very end.  And let me tell you, the twits; they just kept coming. By the end of the story, I was high-fiving myself for figuring out what was going on. I didn’t know all of it, but I was right for the most part.

Blue Hill Blood is one of those books that it’s best to not read spoilers for. And trust me, there are so many things I want to gush about and discuss right now. But, I’m not going to do that. You need to go into this story blind. Enjoy the thrill of solving the mystery. The only little tidbit that you’re going to get from me is this: If you liked the movies Gone Girl or The Usual Suspects, you are going to love this book.
