Throw Back Thursday….Fallen Crest High (Fallen Crest High #1) by Tijan

This week’s Throw Back Thurday goes to Tijan and Fallen Crest High. Fallen Crest High is the ultimate guilty pleasure, like Cruel Intentions or your favorite soap opera! From sex to lies to drama and tons of angst, this book has it all. It’s smartly written, addictive and will consume your mind, body and soul…..

“In that moment, I realized that he always had that affect on me. The ice façade I reined over myself was plucked away whenever his attention was on me. He reached over and took it away like I was a baby with candy.”

“He watched behaviors. He didn’t listen to words.”

Mason and Logan Kade are two brothers who did their own thing. They were rich and expected to attend her school, Fallen Crest Academy. They chose public school and now Samantha has to live with them. The problem is that she doesn’t care at all: about them, about her friends, about her cheating boyfriend, or even about her parent’s divorce. But maybe that’s a good thing. Maybe change is a good thing.

Throw Back Thursday: Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1) by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Posted on

For this weeks Throw Back Thursday, I’m kicking it back to a YA Paranormal Read, Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl. For me, this book was a lot of fun getting lost in. I loved the paranormal setting these two ladies created and love, love, loved the southern touches. This story intrigued me like no other and kept me coming back for more…..

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she’s struggling to conceal her power, and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town’s oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

Throw Back Thursday: Fighting Temptation (Men of Honor #1) by K.C. Lynn

Posted on

This week’s Throw Back Thursday is going to K.C. Lynn and Fighting Temptation. I remember coming across this series on goodreads and a friend of mine told me, “Amy! You have got to read this book!!” So, I picked it up and this is where my love affair with KC Lynn’s writing began. There is literally nothing this author will write that I won’t read. Her writing is beautiful, flawless and full of deep emotions. She gives you stories filled with unforgettable love, hope, and overcoming the odds. I encourage you to pick up Fighting Temptation today and see for yourself what an incredible read this book/this whole series is. I promise you won’t regret it.

Jaxson is arrogant, angry and aggressive. Yet he’s also beautiful, strong and honorable. I unconditionally and irrevocably love every damaged part of him. And for the boy, who didn’t believe in love, he would always and forever have mine. ~Julia Sinclair

Julia was different from anyone I’d ever met. I never thought someone so good and genuine existed until her. The more I saw of her the more I became addicted to her. Every time I was around her she would destroy some of the darkness that lurked inside of me. She made the bad shit in my life seem not so terrible. Then, before I knew it, I had fallen for a girl from another world. ~Jaxson Reid

Two unlikely friends—the innocent, good girl and the notorious bad boy. One fateful night brought them together, and they formed a bond—one so strong it was unbreakable—until one night they gave into temptation.

Fast forward five years and Jaxson is back to fix the mistakes he’s made with the only girl who’s ever mattered to him. Only someone isn’t happy with his return, someone who thinks Julia is theirs and they will stop at nothing to make sure it stays that way—forever.

Jaxson will not only fight to protect Julia, but will also battle the new and existing demons that haunt his soul from death, corruption, destruction and war.

This is Book One in the Men Of Honor series. It can be read as a standalone and has a HEA. It’s New Adult Romance and is told from both character’s POV. Due to strong sexual content, coarse language and mature subject matter this book is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18.

Throw Back Thursday…..Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

Posted on

This weeks Throw Back goes to Laini Taylor. Daughter of Smoke & Bone is probably one of my all time favorite fantasy reads. The world building is just incredible and the writing literally blows me away…..

Around the world, black hand prints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.

In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grows dangerously low.

And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherworldly war.

Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real, she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious “errands”, she speaks many languages – not all of them human – and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.

When beautiful, haunted Akiva fixes fiery eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?

Throw Back Thursday…..

Let’s kick off this week with an oldie, but goodie: Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.
