Embrace Sales Blitz: Best Book Boyfriends Ever: Men In Uniform

Posted on

This week, Entangled Publishing has been celebrating The Best Book Boyfriends Ever by shining a light on some of the heroes on Embrace! Today I’m joining in as we salute the military book boyfriends!

Authors Ophelia London & Cole Gibsen shared their thoughts about writing about men in uniform. Entangled has all of the Embrace stories with military heroes on sale for just 99¢, today only!

Is your hero inspired by a real-life person? If so, who?

Ophelia London (author of Abby Road & Crossing Abby Road): Actually, my hero, Todd, is very, very roughly based on a mix of my college boyfriend and the fantasy I wished he’d been back then. Hee-hee. I started dreaming up this story a few years after 9/11, so I KNEW Todd needed to have served in the military.

Cole Gibsen (author of Seared on my Soul): I’m the executive director of a charity that places PTSD service dogs with veterans. I wouldn’t say Reece was inspired by a particular veteran, but rather the struggle I’ve witnessed so many of them going through.

What other kinds of heroes do you like to read about?

Ophelia: Basically any of them! But currently, I love to read about powerful men: the businessmen: strong silent type that appear to be all business, but deep down have a gooey heart of gold. And if they have an accent, whooo baby!

Cole: I’m seriously a romance junkie, so when it comes to heroes, I don’t discriminate. I love them all.

Fight & Glory #2

And it almost does, until Jagger pulls her from the ocean and sets her soul on fire. Jagger is wickedly hot, reckless, and perfect for a girl living life to the fullest. Except Paisley is the commanding general’s daughter and her boyfriend is Jagger’s biggest rival. One wrong move, and they could crash and burn…

Beyond What is Given by Rebecca Yarros
Fight & Glory #3
The last thing Lt. Grayson Masters needs is the distraction of his gorgeous new roommate, Samantha Fitzgerald. While her smart mouth and free spirit are irresistibly irritating, he can’t deny their off-the-charts chemistry—or her ability to pull his focus away from his Apache helicopter course. Sam has no business digging for Grayson’s secrets while she’s hiding her own, but that doesn’t stop her from trying to tear down his walls. Each barrier she busts through drops one of her own, though, and she’s not prepared for the truth…

Hallowed Ground by Rebecca Yarros
Fight & Glory #4
Josh Walker is loyal, reckless, and every girl’s dream. But he only has eyes for December Howard. Together they have survived grief, the military, distance, and time. As Josh heads to Afghanistan, a country that nearly killed him once before and took Ember’s father, they fill their last days together with love, passion, and plans for their future… If there’s one thing Ember has learned from her father’s death, it’s that there are some obstacles even love can’t conquer.

Seared on My Soul by Cole Gibsen
Written on My Heart #2
Reece Montgomery never planned on being anyone’s hero, especially the foul-mouthed, bleach-blonde barista from the local coffee shop. He thinks there’s more to Emily Garret than her tattoos, and lip ring, but getting close means letting her into his past and meeting his ghosts.

Abby Road by Ophelia London
Abby Road #1
It’s been exactly one day since rock star Abby Kelly fled her chaotic life. One day without her demanding manager, papparrazzi, ridiculous tour schedules, and recording sessions. But all it takes is one twist of fate— to enter a stranger’s surf shop while trying to dodge some fans—for everything to change. When Abby meets Todd, an ex-Marine sniper turned surfer, she feels things she hasn’t felt for a long time. Possibly never. But when the real world comes crashing back in, Abby is caught between the superstar she’s become…and the painfully real human being she longs to be.

Crossing Abby Road by Ophelia London
Abby Road #2
Todd Camford went from Marine sniper to owning a beachfront surf shop in Florida. He’s a free-flying, unfettered hawk, and relationships outside of family are out of the question. And then she comes into his shop. Everyone knows who Abigail Kelly is—mega rockstar, tabloid fixture. He’d be an ass (or possibly insane) to think he can resist her. Just for today, maybe he’ll keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn’t get mobbed. Because really, how much damage could one day with a super-hot, kick-ass celebrity really do?

Embrace Sales Blitz: Best Book Boyfriends Ever: The Right Man For The Job

Working Men Sale Blitz - April 6

This week, Entangled Publishing is celebrating its new adult heroes! Today, we celebrate men who don’t mind getting their hands dirty – the working man! Entangled has all of the Embrace stories about Blue Collar guys on sale for just 99¢ today!

To celebrate, authors Candace Havens, Suzanne van Rooyen, Beth Anne Miller, Julie Particka, Tiffany Truitt, Erin Butler, Cole Gibsen, & Melissa West shared their thoughts on writing about The Right Man for the Job.

Is your hero inspired by a real-life person? If so, who?

Candace Havens (author of Branded): Oh, no. I’ll never tell. Let’s just say my late teen years were spent around a lot of very sexy cowboys. Shhhhh. Don’t tell my husband.

Suzanne van Rooyen (author of Scardust): Yes, there are aspects of my hero that are definitely inspired by real life people but he’s more of an amalgam than a fictional version of any one specific person.

Beth Anne Miller (author of A Star to Steer Her By): I participated in a semester at sea when I was in college, and have sailed on a few tall ships since then, so I would say that Tristan is inspired by all those deckhands and mates –male and female– that I observed, who work hard and tirelessly to keep the ship running smoothly and safely. There have been a few particularly hot deckhands that I’ve perhaps observed a little more attentively, who may have inspired Tristan a little more specifically. 😉

Julie Particka (author of Fall with Me): My family is blue-collar. The business run by Jenna’s dad is basically the business that my father ran. (And yes, all of us worked for him for at least a summer.) Sutton, however, was basically a combination of the fact that my first boyfriend ended up working for my father for a while (long after we broke up) combined with the idea of falling in love while under the watchful gaze of a parent. (So, while the *idea* of my ex-boyfriend was involved, Sutton is nothing like Dennis LOL)

Tiffany Truitt (author of Seven Ways to Lose Your Heart): The professional in me should categorically deny that any of my male heroes are inspired by real people…especially because I don’t want my friends or exes reading into anything…but, subconsciously, I am sure there is some sort of resemblance to men I have dated. I asked my friends if the hero, Kennedy, reminded them of anyone, and one set named one guy and the other set of friends named another. So, sure, yes, or maybe not.

Erin Butler (author of Last Wish): My husband. Out of any of the heroes I’ve written, Ronan is the most like my husband. He’s got a temper, but he’s also sweet, fun-loving, and LOYAL.

Cole Gibsen (author of Written on my Heart): My hero was inspired by every working, single, father, who works their ass off for their family.

Melissa West (author of No Falling Allowed): Yes, my husband. My husband is outwardly a white collar businessman, but on the inside, he is a handyman all the way!

What other kinds of heroes do you like to read about?

Candace: Any kind of alpha hero. I like a strong man who takes care of business. But I also like enlightened alphas who are strong, but also have a soft, mush heart.

Suzanne: Military heroes. I have a very soft spot for soldiers, for those who choose to sacrifice the people and things that they love to protect others and the greater good. There’s something so selfless and courageous about that.

Beth: On the whole, I like to read books with heroes who aren’t afraid of a little dirt. Cowboys or firefighters or law enforcement or military guys. I’m re-reading all of Suzanne Brockmann’s Troubleshooters books right now, so all those military and ex-military guys are on my brain. 🙂 I tend to be more attracted to the jeans-and-a-tee-shirt guys than the Armani suit guys, to guys who work outside rather than in an office. That’s definitely not a hard and fast rule, but I would say that I pick those books up more frequently.

Julie: I love down-on-their-luck heroes, the kind that are a little exasperated with everything but still keep going no matter what goes wrong. These kind of guys tend to take life as it comes, and I find that really appealing because no matter how hard you try to build something nice and orderly, life comes at you. I love heroes who are ready to face that head on.

Tiffany: I would hate to pigeonhole myself into reading about only certain types of heroes. I like to think I am an equal opportunist. My enjoyment of a good romance book is less about the hero and more about the relationship between him and the heroine. I like a bit of conflict there, a battle of the wits. Doesn’t matter if the hero is a cowboy or an astronaut as long as he can hold his own.

Erin: I love a good hero. As long as he’s swoon-worthy, I don’t really care.

Cole: I have zero hero discrimination. I love them al!

Melissa: I like a variety. There are great heroes in all walks of life.

Otherworldly Heroes Sale Blitz Banner April 5
This week I’m helping Entangled Publishing celebrate new adult heroes! Today is focused on the out-of-this-world hotness of otherworldly heroes! Entangled has all of the Embrace books that feature paranormal heroes on sale for just 99¢ today!

Authors Marnee Blake, Reese Monroe, & Jocelyn Adams share their inspiration for their otherworldly heroes!

Who or what inspired your otherworldly heroes?

Reese Monroe (author of the Bound by Hades series): I’ve always been inspired by The Rock and Vin Diesel. Yeah, I know I kind of dated myself a little there, but in some of their movies…**whew**…the lengths to which they’ll go to protect what’s theirs–amazing to watch.

Off the screen, if you watch their social media feeds, it’s all about family, inspiration and working hard for your goals. I’m all about that.

Oh, and they’re nice to look at, too.

As far as what inspired me while creating my heroes…Love. In all honesty, faith, hope and love are the key elements to all my stories. Love being the greatest of these. It makes my heroes stronger than they already are and that kind of strength, no matter what kind of evil they face off with, gives them an edge.

Jocelyn Adams (author of the Mortal Machine series): Years ago, a friend of mine suggested I read the Anita Blake series of books by Laurel K. Hamilton, and I absolutely fell for Jean-Claude. Tall, unusual, with a colorful past, and that French accent was the cherry on top. He was the first hero I’d ever read that stepped outside the boundaries of typical romantic relationships. The moment I finished the first book in the series, I knew what genre I wanted to write.

Besides otherworldly heroes, about what kind of heroes do you like to read?

Marnee Blake (author of the Altered series): I love reading about heroes who do real-life heroic things as well. FBI agents, cops, detectives, military men, firefighters… People who help others are sexy.

Reese: Those who cherish their mates above all else and would do anything for them. Also, I love a good hero that is strong and honorable.

Jocelyn: Dark anti-heroes are my absolute favorite, or even better, villain-turned-heroes. There’s nothing I love more than a good redemption story.

Embrace Sale Blitz: Best Book Boyfriends Ever: Athletes

Athletes Sale Blitz Banner April 4

This week, I’m helping Entangled Publishing celebrate the heroes of Embrace & New Adult Romance!

Today we’re celebrating athletes! Here’s what Embrace authors have to say about their athletic heroes.

Are any of your athlete characters inspired by real life people? If so, who?

Tessa Bailey (author of Unfixable): Shane from Unfixable is a bartender from Dublin (in addition to being a Formula One driver). In real life, I married a bartender from Dublin. He doesn’t race cars, but there is some definite similarities.

Cindi Madsen (author of the Taking Shots series): Beck Davenport was modeled after Gabe Landeskog, Hudson Decker came about after staring at a lot of pictures of Tyler Seguin, & my inspiration for Dane was Chris Letang. Ryder “Ox” Maddox was tricky, & he’s actually more modeled off actor Robbie Amell.

Jennifer Blackwood (author of Foolproof & The Rule Maker): Gus Kenworthy totally helped inspire me to write Ryder Covington 🙂 and Claudio Marchisio was hero inspiration for Ryan from Foolproof.

Shae Ross (author of Rush & Fearless): The heroine athletes in RUSH were partially inspired by my nieces, Samantha and Sydney. Sam played soccer for Florida Gulf Coast and Syd plays for the University of Toledo, Rockets. Some of the scenes in RUSH parallel their experiences as female athletes on and off the soccer field.

Megan Westfield (author of Lessons in Gravity): I was watching a short rock climbing film when I initially had the idea for Lessons in Gravity. The climber in that film was Dean Potter who was one of the greatest rock climbers of this generation. Like Dean Potter, the pro rock climber in Lessons in Gravity, sometimes climbs without a rope—also called free soloing. (Sadly, Dean Potter died two years ago B.A.S.E. jumping in Yosemite National Park.) The most well-known free-solo rock climber is Alex Honnold who is practically a household name after appearing on 60 Minutes, in nationwide TV commercials, and on the cover of National Geographic, to name a few.

Jessica Lee (author of Falling for the Player): No!

Besides athletes, about what kind of heroes do you like to read?

Tessa: Blue collar men have always been Blue collar men have always been my favorite. I love men who get dirty and work with their hands. Mechanics, law enforcement, construction workers. They can’t solve problems with money, so they have to be more creative and that’s what I love most.

Cindi: Really I’m a fan of all heroes. I just want to see a guy fall head over heels over the heroine. If they’re funny, bonus points.

Jennifer: Men who like to work with their hands, who don’t mind getting dirty. Maybe a mechanic? Or a cowboy?

Shae: I like to read about heroes in the working world. There’s something oh so appealing about a successful man in a business suit. Don’t you think?

Megan: Aside from heroes that are athletes, I’m currently smitten with rock star heroes like Berkeley from In Bloom by Katie Delahanty and Jack from Mean Girl Apologizes by Stephanie Monahan.

Jessica: I also adore a hero with a tortured soul. A man whose been to hell and back. And the heroine is the only person who can see who he really is behind the pain. She’s the person who can finally help him heal.

What sport do you think has the hottest athletes? Why?

Tessa: I have to go with hockey players. It’s not just the fact that they’re massive, muscular, sweaty gods—they fist fight. Normally, I would eye roll two men in a physical fight, but I’ll allow it in the name of sports glory.

Cindi: Well, I have to go with hockey, because I don’t want my hockey players mad at me. LOL. But football would be a close second.

Jennifer: Soccer. The abs. Need I explain more?

Shae: MMA–Mixed Martial Arts.

Megan: Outdoor adventure athletes are the very hottest! I define adventure sports as non-motorized sports out in the wild somewhere. Backcountry skiing, rock climbing, surfing, mountaineering, rafting, mountain biking, etc. These sports are the sexiest because they take athletic ability far beyond what you see in a city-sport, plus the stakes are way higher because chances of rescue are very slim if the athlete gets hurt.

Jessica: Soccer or football. Why? Have you seen those shorts and those tight pants? lol

Embraced Sales Blitz: Best Book Boyfriends Ever: Musicians

Musicians Sale Blitz Banner April 3

This week, I’m helping Entangled Publishing celebrate the heroes of Embrace & New Adult Romance!

Today we’re shining the spotlight on musicians and rockstars! Entangled has all of the Embrace Musician’s stories on sale today for just 99¢.

Here’s what Embrace authors have to say about their rockstars.

Are any of your rockstar characters inspired by real life people? If so, who?

A.S. Green (author of Summer Girl): Well… there may have a been a gorgeous guitar-playing camp counselor in my early teen years who left an impression and inspired Bennet from “Summer Girl.”

Katie Delahanty (author of The Brightside series): Many of the experiences, especially in In Bloom, are inspired by real-life events/run-ins with real-life celebrities (sometimes actors, not exclusively musicians) so my characters are sort of inspired by real people… I’d say they are a mishmash of the many artists, both famous and up and coming, that I’ve had the privilege of knowing over the years as part of the Los Angeles music scene. When we were dating, my husband (then boyfriend) was in a band that used to open for Kara’s Flowers–who went on to become Maroon 5. My husband is good friends with Adam Levine so I was along for the ride (and was often the shy girl hiding in the corner at celebrity parties) as they rose to success. People often ask if Berkeley is based on Adam and the short answer is he’s not character-wise, but in some ways Adam taught Berkeley everything he knows experience-wise. Other bands/celebs that have “cameos” in my books include The Killers and Jake Gyllenhaal, and all of the music/lyrics are borrowed from my husband’s band, The Remainers.

Lisa Burstein (author of The Possibility of Us): In my Young Adult book, Mia and The Bad Boy. Ryder Brooks a reluctant member of a boy band is based on River Phoenix.

Tara Kelly (author of Encore): Yes – Sean in Encore – was actually inspired by my husband. They are differences, for sure, but their personalities are similar.

Besides rockstars & musicians, what kind of heroes do you like to read about?

A.S. Green: I love any hero with a troubled past and something to prove, even if he’s the only one who needs convincing.

Katie Delahanty: Entrepreneurs–anybody who is chasing a dream and is driven to succeed.

Lisa Burstein: Artists of any kind. I find creativity and angst super sexy.

Tara Kelly: I’ve got a soft spot for computer/science geeks (particularly of the hacker variety), any type of artist, mechanics, heroes who, underneath their corporate suit/image, are tattooed and have a chaotic, wild side.

How would you describe your own musical talent?

A.S. Green: I can do a mean karaoke version of “I Will Survive.”

Katie Delahanty: Ugh. Non-existent!

Lisa Burstein: Not great talent-wise but better story-wise. I took keyboard lessons in middle school from one of them members of Kool and the Gang. He told us he used to be a member, but he also worked at Sears in the keyboard department, so looking back I’m not so sure. He’d bring his bass over and play in my dining room while trying to teach me the keys.

Tara Kelly: I’m a songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. I play guitar, bass, piano, and sing.

Encore by Tara Kelly
Amplified
I lied my way into a band, humiliated them on stage, and got my heart broken by the bassist. Now…we’re on tour together. This is the best opportunity we may ever have –and it’s already a disaster. We’re broke. We can’t stop fighting. And being in such close quarters to Sean isn’t exactly helping me get over him. Even though we’re just friends now, every time our fingers brush or our eyes catch, my heart betrays me. He’s the kind of distraction I can’t afford to have right now…no matter how much I wish things were different.

In Bloom by Katie Delahanty
The Brightside Series
How does someone like me, an ordinary girl from Pittsburgh, wind up in the arms of the world’s sexiest rock star—surrounded by celebrities, fashion, and music—and not be eaten alive? Berkeley Dalton is everything I’ve ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, but the paparazzi, the tabloids, the rumors, it’s all getting a bit too crazy. My life has become every girl’s dream come true, if only I don’t blink and lose it all…

Blushing by Katie Delahanty
The Brightside Series
When Berkeley proposed, I thought we’d live happily ever after. Instead he dropped a bombshell: he’s starring in a movie with his gorgeous ex, Christina Carlton. And what’s more? I’ve been erased from the public eye. To be together, Berkeley asked me to work on set as a costume designer—a dream come true—but there’s a catch: we have to keep our relationship secret. I’m okay with not being photographed, but the sneaking around, the lies, his love scenes; it’s not how I imagined our engagement. Am I ready to drop everything to become Olivia Dalton?

Believe by Katie Delahanty
The Brightside Series
Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to fall for the adorable bass player of my favorite band. I’m a doctor beginning a five-year residency, and there’s no room in my life for fairy tales—only patients and perfection. But I can’t stop thinking about him. Could he be the One? Am I ready to risk everything I’ve worked for? All for a chance at a happily ever after I never believed possible.

Summer Girl by A.S. Green
A songwriter is nothing without his muse. Sucks that mine turns out to be Katherine D’Arcy—hot as hell, but the very definition of country-club living and everything I came to this quiet little island to escape. I thought I’d find inspiration here, but I’ve been unable to write crap. That is until the uptight summer girl arrived to tend the lighthouse and the music began to flow. If only there wasn’t that one inconvenient truth I’ve been keeping from her…

The Possibility of Us by Lisa Burstein
Cassie doesn’t want to go to the funeral. She had enough to handle with her own hollow existence. But she knew she should pay her respects to her old camp counselor…as long as her ex, Ben, wouldn’t be there. Except Ben is there. Still gorgeous, still angry, and still able to penetrate her defenses with one intense stare. All the reasons they left each other in a flurry of heartache start to fall away over one long, snowy weekend. But tough Cassie can’t truly open up to Ben when she knows confessing her secrets will leave her raw, defenseless. And the possibility of forever might not be enough to gamble on all the impossibilities of now.

Adam escapes in his solo trips overseas, working just enough to fund the next one. When the opportunity to circle the globe falls in his lap, he can’t refuse. The only catch is that he won’t be traveling alone this time.

Unable to hide from each other, Adam’s overprotective nature thwarts Aubrey’s desire to find her own way. Can they move past initial assumptions to find something better?

On sale for $0.99 for a limited time!

When we get back to Abe’s place, he and Adam run out to pick up some takeaway for us. As soon as they leave, I pounce on Shelly and tell her my plans to meet Nigel. She’s a sweetheart and says she’ll cover for me, but only after she programs her number into my phone and mine into hers. She makes me promise to call if I feel uncomfortable at any point.
I grab my purse and hurry to wait at the pizza place a block over. When I get there, I call Nigel, and he tells me he’s on the way. Once I hang up, my phone starts ringing.
“Hello?”
“Where are you?” It’s Adam, and he sounds pissed.
“I’m fine. You don’t have to worry.”
“Aubrey, get your ass back here right now.”
I laugh. “You’re crazy, you know that? I’m an adult. Please learn to accept it,” I say before hanging up on him.
My phone starts ringing again. This time, it’s Shelly.
“Hi, Shelly,” I answer.
“Oh my God, Aubrey. Adam is pissed. Are you sure about this?”
I look up when I see Nigel walk in. “I’m positive. He’s here. I have to go.”
“Hey, Aubrey,” he says, walking over to me.
“Hey, you.” I grin.
“Ready?”
“As I’ll ever be.”
When we talked earlier, I asked a big favor from him.
He puts his arm around me as we walk to his car. “I made you an appointment if you still want to do it.”
I nod. “Let’s go.”
My phone rings off and on the whole time we’re out. I finally answer it when we’re on the way back to Abe’s flat.
“Hello?”
“Where are you?” Adam thunders.
I sigh. “I’m on the way back right now. Can you please relax?”
“I called your parents. They want you to call them.”
Shit. “Way to overreact. Fine. I’ll call them as soon as Nigel drops me off. Bye.” I drop my phone into my purse and pinch the bridge of my nose.
“Everything okay?” Nigel asks sweetly.
I tilt my head, resting it against the headrest, and I smile at him. “I’m awesome. I can’t thank you enough for taking me.”
“It was a first for me too. Does it hurt?”
“I don’t plan on touching it anytime soon.”
He double-parks in front of Abe’s flat. I unhook my belt and turn to thank him once more. His face is right there, and his lips find mine. I feel a bit dazed when he pulls back.
“Don’t forget this.” He passes me a paper bag from the pharmacy. “I have to say, this was enlightening.”
He leans over to kiss me again. I jump at a sharp tap on my window. It’s a hulking, glaring Adam.
“I better go. I’ll email you,” I say to Nigel.
“You better,” he says. Only, his eyes are on Adam and not me.
I step out and am greeted with Adam losing it.
“You could have been killed.”
I raise a brow at him and wave in the direction of Nigel’s retreating car.
It’s then that Adam sees the bandage peeking out from the neck of my shirt. “What happened? You were hurt.”
His fingers are featherlight as they brush my hair to the side and ghost the edge of the bandage. I shrug away from his grasp and head up the stairs.
“Aubrey, wait. What happened to you?”
I turn and look down at him. “I got a tattoo. Happy? You acted like a lunatic and called my parents for nothing.”
I turn and keep walking, hearing his footsteps behind me.
“You can’t just take off like that. I’m responsible for you,” he says from behind me.
I turn quickly and lean back when I realize how close he is behind me. “That’s the whole issue. I’m calling my parents, so they can break it to you. I do not need a babysitter.”
I pull my phone out of my purse and call them. After a few moments of assuring them that I am fine and I only went out with a new friend, I tell them to set Adam straight.
I pass him the phone and cringe when he says, “Did she mention she got a tattoo?”
My mouth drops as he hands the phone back to me.
“Hi.”
It’s my dad. “A tattoo?”
“Mmhmm. Are you mad?”
He laughs. “People don’t get mad.”
I finish for him. “Animals do. But for real, are you?”
There’s a pause. “You are a grown woman, and we trust your judgment.”
“Thank you. Can you please tell that to Adam?”
He agrees, and I pass the phone back to Adam. They talk for a minute, and he passes the phone back to me, so I can tell him I love them both and say good-bye.
“Was there anything you wanted to say to my dad?” I ask, offering my phone.
Our fingers brush as he takes it. He turns his face from my heated gaze.
“I’m sorry for any misunderstanding Sir.” He offers quietly to my father.
It’s not lost on me that he didn’t offer me an apology. Adam follows me quietly the rest of the way up the stairs. Shelly and Abe must have heard us coming because they’re waiting in the doorway.
“Oi! Let me see it right now.” Shelly grins, pulling me into the flat.
I’m wearing a tank top under my T-shirt. It has a built-in bra, and I wore it on purpose. I slip my T-shirt off and ease my arm through the right strap of my tank. Shelly stands behind me, pulling the back of my top down to uncover the bandage. She gently peels it off to expose my tattoo. She pulls me to the bathroom, so I can look at it in the mirror at the same time. It’s not big—maybe four inches across and six inches down.
“Did you lose someone?”
I didn’t know Adam had followed us. He’s leaning on the doorway. His gray eyes lock on mine. I nod and look at the pair of angel wings reflected in the mirror.
He takes the bandage from Shelly and delicately smooths it back on my shoulder. “I could have taken you.”
I shake my head. “I was angry at you.” I press the front of my tank top to my chest as I slip my arm back through the strap.
Adam holds the strap away from my shoulder, so it doesn’t push against my bandage. Shelly looks back and forth between us before excusing herself. I turn around to face him. He picks up my hand and sets my phone in it.
“What did my dad say?”
He looks up at the ceiling. “It appears I have been a bit overly protective.”
I touch his arm, and he looks down at me.
“I just don’t want to feel smothered.”
When he nods, I drop my hand.
“I saw him kiss you.”
I gulp and take a step back, bumping into the sink.
“Do you like him?” He steps closer to me.
I lick my lips and watch his gray eyes flick to them. “I don’t even know him.”
“But you let him kiss you.”
I can feel Adam’s breath on my cheek. I blink. “I did.”
“Did you like it?” He tucks a strand of hair behind my ear.
I feel all the tiny hairs on my earlobe stand straight up as the pad of his fingertip grazes it. My whole body is buzzing.
“I don’t know.”
His mouth twitches. “Why don’t you know, Aubrey?”
I break our gaze. “I can’t remember it.”
He lifts his hand to my chin, tilting my face back to look at his. The pad of his thumb brushes across my lower lip. “Must not have been much of a kiss.”
I’m frozen. I have no response.
I watch the tip of his tongue grace the edge of his bottom lip. My lips part when he drops his hand.
“You should always be able to remember a kiss,” he says before walking out of the bathroom.

“Do you like to watch?” He whispers this question into my ear as he tugs my thong to the side.

I don’t answer him, but stay there in the shadows, and watch the couple in the VIP room. I can’t look away. Watching them is turning me on more than anything ever has before.

Do I like to watch?

Yes…

** This book is intended for mature readers due to language and adult situations. Also, Watching is a novella and is approx 92 pages in print format.

ON SALE FOR ONLY $0.99 FOR A LIMITED TIME!
My mouth drops when I see them. Elle’s dress is pulled down, her breasts exposed as Drew suckles one of her nipples. She’s lying across his lap, her back to the side of the sofa.
He holds one of her legs spread wide as his cock pushes in and out of her, the fingers of his other hand furiously circling her clit. Her exposed skin is luminescent in the glow of the strobe lights coming from the dance floor.
I’m transfixed and unable to look away. I should be embarrassed to be witnessing such a private moment between them. I should not be watching this; I should turn around right now and go back into the bathroom. That’s what a good girl would do; good thing I’ve decided it feels good to be bad.
I drop my bag before my hands lift to cup my breasts as I watch them. I pinch and roll my nipples through my dress as Drew shifts Elle in his lap so she sits on his cock, reverse cowgirl. Both of his hands move to toy with her nipples and my pussy clenches in response.
I drop one of my hands, lifting my skirt so I can touch myself. I ease my hand into the front of my thong and circle my clit with my fingers before pushing two of them into my wet pussy and sagging sideways against the wall as I fuck myself. My fingers move to the rhythm of the slap of their flesh. Somehow I no longer hear the music from the dance floor and can only hear the sounds of their fucking.
A strong hand covers my breast, I jump, but before I can shriek a sexy voice whispers, “My dirty girl likes to watch.”
Watched (#2) – Released Nov 18, 2015

So much has changed.

My typical Friday night before Jack revolved around a pint of ice cream and my Netflix queue. Now, I’m practically living with him and off the charts hot sex is my new normal.

If that wasn’t enough, Jack is helping me explore things I never knew I wanted sexually. Turns out watching people have sex gets me off big time.

The question is, will being Watched turn me on as well?

Watch (#3) – Released Jan 18, 2016

I’m at a standstill.

If I push forward, I could destroy everything that Jack and I have built together. If I pull back, I could be left forever wondering what if.

I’m torn between Jack and Elle, the man I love and my friend who wants to become my lover.

I’m curious. It would be a lie to say I wasn’t.
He says no. My body says yes.

Could I risk it? Risk hurting and possibly losing him.

Just you watch.
