My Review

“She wanted to memorize this moment. To remember the way her heart pounded so hard she knew it wanted to beat right beside his, and how he’d erase any doubts she had.”

“Do you feel it Rachel? Has our time come, or did this cowboy lose his shot with the only woman he wants?”

If you’re looking for a quick and sexy read, then look no further, Love At Last is the novella for you. Love At Last hits the ground running and pulls you in instantly. From the moment we meet Cal and Rachel, sparks are flying all over the place. Their chemistry is undeniable and it was fun watching these two flirt and dance around their connection. You just knew these two were destined for one another and watching them fall was soooo much fun!

Love At Last hit all the marks for me when it comes to novellas. It was quick. It was sexy. It was drama free and just a straight up love story. It is definitely the kind of read you can curl up with and devour in just a few short hours. One of the things I love about Melissa Foster’s books is that they all can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone novels. The stories are real. They are sweet and swoon-worthy with just the right amount of steam and sexy good times.  It’s the kind of story you can just jump right in to and fall helplessly in love with. I know I did! Love At Last was just the read I was looking for and has me wanting to go back and read the previous books in this series that I have yet to discover.

This story is as old as time.
Girl meets boy.
They fall in love and, after their fair share of highs and lows, they finally get their happily ever after …
Only in my story, happily ever after seems to be so far away.
William and I are together, but we’re apart.
It’s hard and painful, but we make do because not being together is harder than having a long-distance relationship.
Every turn is more painful than the last, and I’m not sure if I’m ready for it.
If we are ready for it.
William
For more than a year, I waited.
For more than a year, I was a good boy playing by the rules.
For more than a year, I’ve been waiting for the right moment.
I gave her time she needed.
The time we needed.
I watched her go in and out of my life, time and time again.
But I’m done playing this game.
I can see the pain in her eyes. The pain that matches my own.
It’s time to end this and claim what’s mine.
Because I’m hers, and she’s mine and we … We’re forever.
What to know how it all started?

“What I really admired about this book was the romance. It wasn’t an immediate fall into bed and declare their love for each other. It was realistic, rough on the edges, and slow burning. This isn’t something you see often in the sports romance genre (at least I haven’t found many like this) and Lost & Found is unique with the pacing, the story line and the honesty between all of the characters.” – Ashley

Release Day Launch: Rough Ride: A Chaos Novella by Kristen Ashley

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley comes a new story in her Chaos series…

About ROUGH RIDE:

Rosalie Holloway put it all on the line for the Chaos Motorcycle Club.

Informing to Chaos on their rival club—her man’s club, Bounty—Rosalie knows the stakes. And she pays them when her man, who she was hoping to scare straight, finds out she’s betrayed him and he delivers her to his brothers to mete out their form of justice.

But really, Rosie has long been denying that, as she drifted away from her Bounty, she’s been falling in love with Everett “Snapper” Kavanagh, a Chaos brother. Snap is the biker-boy-next door with the snowy blue eyes, quiet confidence and sweet disposition who was supposed to keep her safe…and fell down on that job.

For Snapper, it’s always been Rosalie, from the first time he saw her at the Chaos Compound. He’s just been waiting for a clear shot. But he didn’t want to get it after his Rosie was left bleeding, beat down and broken by Bounty on a cement warehouse floor.

With Rosalie a casualty of an ongoing war, Snapper has to guide her to trust him, take a shot with him, build a them…

And fold his woman firmly in the family that is Chaos.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

EXCERPT:

My dad had been a biker. He was a nomad when it came to that kind of thing (or, really, any kind of thing). He accepted being tied down by his woman and his daughter only, not anything else. Not a job. Not a mortgage. Not a membership to a club. He hung with a lot of them, including Chaos (in fact, Hammer, sadly now deceased, but one of the founding members of Chaos, had been my father’s best friend).

But he’d never hung with Bounty.

“Don’t like the feel of them,” I’d heard him mutter years ago. “If you’re an outlaw, own the outlaw. If you’re not, own that. You can’t wanna be a Gypsy Joker. You either are or you aren’t. They wanna be. But they aren’t. That shit just ain’t right and it could get dangerous.”

He’d been right.

It got dangerous.

I should have known.

I should have followed my dad.

Mom and me had done it all our lives, job to job, house to house, city to city.

Why I stopped…

Damn.

I knew why I’d stopped.

I’d wanted Shy; Shy, who reminded me of Dad.

And when I couldn’t have him, I’d gone looking.

I’d wanted what my mom had.

I’d wanted that sweetness. That love.

That devotion.

I’d wanted the stability that just seeped down deep into your bones from all that no matter the job changing, the scenery changing, the amount of times you boxed up a house.

Stability had nothing to do with income and locale.

Stability was all in the heart.

About Kristen Ashley:

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.

About NO RESERVATIONS:

New York Times Bestselling author Kristen Proby takes us back to her highly acclaimed Fusion series.

Chase MacKenzie is not the man for Maura Jenkins. A self-proclaimed life-long bachelor, and unapologetic about his distaste for monogamy, a woman would have to be a masochist to want to fall into Chase’s bed.

And Maura is no masochist.

Chase has one strict rule: no strings attached. Which is fine with Maura because she doesn’t even really like Chase. He’s arrogant, cocky, and let’s not forget bossy. But when he aims that crooked grin at her, she goes weak in the knees. Not that she has any intentions of falling for his charms.

Definitely not.

Well, maybe just once…

My Review

No reservations is a fun, flirty read with just the right amount of heat that we’ve come to know and love from author Kristen Proby.

No reservations might be a quick and easy read since it is a novella, but I promise you, this book packs a punch. From fun characters to one enjoyable story-line, this is a book that you won’t be able to stop yourself from devouring. No Reservations has just the right amount of steam and is pretty light on the drama.

There’s not much else I can say about this book because I don’t want to spoil it for you. So, if you’re looking for a quick steamy read to spend a few hours getting lost in, look no further. This book is a great addition to the Fusion Series and Kristen Proby does not disappoint.

Review: Explicitly Yours by Mika Jolie

Marriage.

The final frontier. The end of dating. The number one cause of divorce.

I bet you every man who is about to take the plunge experiences a wide range of feelings. As a guy, whose wedding day is only seven days away, I know this.

Anxiety—Nerves are kicking in. Yeah, even confident, cocky guys like me are bound to face nuptial stage fright.

Let’s face it, forever is kind of a long time, right?

Excitement—Coriander and I are going to make it official. I’m marrying my best friend, the one I laugh with, live for, dream with.

Nothing can top this moment.

That is until I got the biggest surprise of my life…

***While this book can be read as a standalone, it is highly recommended to read The Boy Friend first to avoid any spoilers.***

My Review

Explicitly Yours is the follow up novella to The Boy Friend. Explicitly Yours is told from dual points of view and is the conclusion that fans have been waiting for. Now, since this book is a novella, I’m going to keep this review short and sweet. I don’t want to spoil anything!

So, what can I tell you about Explicitly Yours? I can tell you that it is the conclusion that fans of Cori and Dean have been waiting for. Follow Cori and Dean as they enter a new chapter in their life. These two love birds couldn’t be happier with the way things turned out. But, leave it to fate to throw a few more surprises their way. Cori and Dean have a love that can withstand any obstacle, so for this little novella, all I’m gonna say is sit back and enjoy the ride….

Explicitly Yours was a super quick read for me. I loved getting to spend a little more time with Cori and Dean and seeing the rest of their story play out.  Their little novella hits all the marks and is just the quick read I was looking for!

My Review

“One moment of kindness can change everything.” “Kindness costs nothing and yet it’s worth everything.”

“I acted like my story deserved a hero. But only a heroine deserves a hero. And I wasn’t a heroine. I couldn’t be. The truth was in someone else’s story…I was a villain.”

“I wanted to believe that these kisses were real. That his longing was as real as mine.”

No one quite delivers the romance and angst quite like Samantha Young. Her writing is always flawless and will leave you utterly captivated. Villain might just be a novella, but I promise you that this story packs a punch. It delivers all the feels and gives you an unforgettable romance.

Villain is one of those books that just sucks you in immediately. The characters are intriguing and have real world problems. I found them very easy to connect with and couldn’t wait to see how their story would play out. I loved getting lost in Henry and Nadia’s story. Their banter was entertaining and I loved the pull between the two of the. Nadia did not make things easy for Henry, but let me tell you, Henry is not the kind of man that will ever step away from a challenge. Watching these two together, and seeing them trying to navigate their way to a happily ever after was a lot of fun. Nadia and Henry were far from perfect; each perfectly flawed in their own ways. But together, the spark and connection was undeniable and just left you begging for more.

Villain was a quick and easy read for me; one that I definitely finished in one sitting. I really enjoyed the story-line and fell in love with the characters. Nadia and Henry’s story didn’t feel like a novella whatsoever. It hit all the marks with just the right of angst, drama and sexy good times. I thought this story was a great addition to the Hero Series and I look forward to seeing what this author will have in store for us next.

EXCERPT

Shaking off the memory of yesterday, I grabbed my purse and opened the door to my apartment with every intention of jumping in a cab to the address Joe had given me.

However, a man blocked my way.

He stood in my doorway, his fist raised as if to knock.

Shocked, I stared up at his familiar face.

Why the hell was Henry Lexington standing in my doorway?

His vibrant blue eyes met mine and for a moment, neither of us said a word. Silence stretched thinly between us, and I suddenly realized I was holding my breath.

Lexington quite abruptly broke the silence. “Miss Ray?”

“Yes, what—”

“We need to talk.” He pushed past me and walked into my apartment without an invitation.

For a moment, I stood there with my mouth open, asking myself if that had just happened. Were people really that rude?

I stared after him, watching him disappear out of my hall and into my sitting room.

All my papers on Carraway were in there!

“Hey!” I called, shutting the door and hurrying after him. “What do you think you’re doing?”

Lexington stood in the middle of my small sitting room, his back, thankfully, to my desk. His expression was sullen, cool, and calculating. This was not the charming, hedonistic millionaire I’d read about. “I could ask you the same thing, Miss Ray.”

“Excuse me?” Cold sweat prickled under my arms. Did he know? How did he know? If he didn’t know, why the hell else would he be here? Why was he here and not Carraway?

I waited anxiously for Lexington to stop boring through my face with his hard eyes. “I assume you know who I am.”

“You’re Henry Lexington.”

“And you, Miss Ray,” he turned and strode over to my desk, fingering my papers, “are going to let a certain story die.”

My belly flipped unpleasantly.

Goddammit. “What?” I said.

Lexington raised an unimpressed eyebrow. “Imelda Worthington.”

Fuck.

“That blank expression isn’t fooling anyone, Miss Ray. I know she said a few unfortunate things to Richard Peters, your boss, and I know you’ve been calling her ever since.”

Despite my guilt, despite knowing I was in the wrong here, this privileged asshole had burst into my apartment to intimidate me. Like hell! “You do, do you?”

His eyes narrowed. “Imelda informed me of what’s been going on and asked me to kindly give you a message.” He prowled toward me and I suddenly felt real fear. I didn’t know this man and he was here to shut me up. How far would he go? I steeled myself, not wanting him to see my fear. If my expression gave me away, however, I didn’t know; all I did know was that Henry Lexington stopped a good foot from me. It still wasn’t enough. He stood at over six feet, his broad shoulders fitted into a perfectly tailored three-piece suit. He had big, masculine hands, one hidden in his pocket, the other resting on his flat stomach over a suit button. Henry Lexington had a swimmer’s build—sleek but powerful—and I could only guess at the strength beneath his suit. I struggled not to feel overwhelmed by his large, magnetic presence, as much as I struggled not to feel fear.

“You’ll leave her alone,” he demanded.

Guessing there was no point in being coy considering he’d seen my desk, I asked, “Why are you here instead of Carraway?”

Lexington flashed me a wolfish grin that didn’t reach his eyes. “Because I’m the nice one. Caine scares Imelda. He scares most people. Not you, though.” He took another step toward me, seeming to be cataloguing every little nuance of my face. “And if you’re not careful, that lack of fear could ruin you, Miss Ray.”
