Throw Back Thursday…..Torn From You (Tear Asunder #1) by Nashoda Rose
“You, Emily. You’re worth fighting for. I fought all my life, but never for anything worthwhile. Now… Now I’m fighting for my heart. Bullshit ends here and now.”
“You need to fear me, not hate me.” I did. I feared him. But I think I hated him more. No, I knew I hated him more. For what he’d done. For what he was doing. For the betrayal. Most of all, for tarnishing something so beautiful and making it ugly. I trusted him. I gave myself to him, and he took me, peeled back layers of my soul until he saw it all. Then he took me.”
“Please don’t ask me to let you go. I can’t do it. I’m not strong enough to do it again.”
“Trust is built. Ours just needs to be rebuilt and it takes time. But baby, we’ll do it together.”
“Maybe love couldn’t be forgotten. But maybe, just maybe it could be smothered by hate.”
“Baby, you’re the one who gave me the strength to survive Raul. It has always been you. It will always be you. Emily …you’re my trophy. And I lost you.”
“The guy I tried to forget. No, damn it, I did forget him. I lived every single day for two years without him. I lived. I suffered, and I breathed. Then I fought my way back and won”
“I wanted the man I fell in love with to carry me away from this place. And I wanted him to carry me away.. and then.. then I wanted to kill him.”
Love is like an avalanche. It hits hard, fast and without mercy.
At least it did for me when Sculpt, the lead singer of the rock band Tear Asunder knocked me off my feet. Literally, because he’s also a fighter, illegally of course, and he taught me how to fight. He also taught me how to love and I fell hard for him. I mean the guy could do sweet, when he wasn’t doing bossy, and I like sweet.
Then it all shattered.
Kidnapped.
Starved.
Beaten.
I was alone and fighting to survive.
When I heard Sculpt’s voice, I thought he was there to save me.
I was wrong.
(It is highly recommended to read “With You” the novella first).
*Warning: This book contains some disturbing situations, strong language and sexual content. Over 18 years.
This is a love story with some dark elements. Dark contemporary romance. No cliffhanger and next in the Tear Asunder series is Ream’s story (the band’s lead guitarist)

Review: Whispers and Roars by K. Webster
When my eyes are closed, the monster can’t ever see me.
When I sing a song in my head, the monster can’t ever hear me.
When I pretend my bedroom is a playground where I play hide and seek, the monster can’t ever find me.
The darkness should frighten me.
I should worry I’ll find more monsters…monsters scarier than him.
But I’m not afraid.
It’s safe here.
When I’m inside of my head…
He. Can’t. Ever. Touch. Me.
Warning: Whispers and the Roars is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes and violence, which could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. The abuse written in this story is graphic and not glossed over which could be upsetting to some. Proceed with caution. This story is NOT for everyone.
My Review
“Kadence Marshall has been my entire world since I was ten years old. And now, every single choice. Every decision. Every thought that enters my mind involves…her. It’s always been that way and it always will be that way. I love her. Plain and simple. You can’t snuff out the blazing flames of love. Soul mates don’t simply drift apart. Twelve years does nothing to change the way I feel about her.”
“This girl was meant to soar…”
I’m starting to believe that it’s K. Webster’s mission to keep me on my toes. I honestly never know what to expect when I’m picking up one of her books and I couldn’t be more happier about that.
Whispers and Roars is refreshing, absolutely unique and unlike anything we’ve seen from K. Webster before. This book is going to suck you and play with your mind. It will have you asking questions and wondering exactly what is going on. And the deeper you get into the story, the more questions you have. And just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, the rug will pulled out from under you and your mind will be totally blown. I know mine was.
Whispers and Roars will take you on one incredible, mind scrambling ride. This story is told from multiple points of view and will captivate you from beginning to end. This story is about true love and acceptance. It is filled with mystery and suspense. There is romance and lots of sexy, steamy moments. But, don’t let that fool you, Whispers and Roars is not an easy story. It definitely has dark moments and it will pull at your heart.
Whispers and Roars has completely blown me away and has once again showed me why K. Webster is one of my go-to authors. I can not wait to see what this author has up her sleeves next.

Review: Pretty Lost Dolls (Pretty Stolen Dolls #2) by Ker Dukey & K. Webster
Benny had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick.
Just like him, his dolly needed darkness as a fix, fix, fix.
So they tormented and hunted and played tricks, tricks, tricks.
Together their sins a lethal mix, mix, mix.
Until Benny missed his dolly who was lost, lost, lost.
He needed to find her and love her at any cost, cost, cost.
Not wanting him and his dolly to be alone, lone, lone.
He made plans to bring his dirty dolly, home, home, home.
Have you ever touched another’s soul with the essence of your own, breathed them in so they become apart of you?
I have.
Finally starting to live, feel and fall in love, amongst all the chaos surrounding me.
Dropping my guard and letting another into my heart.
I left my soul open.
I left my heart open.
I left the door open.
And he stole me.
Dillon…I’m sorry.
My Review
“Love is a savage beast trapped within me, thickening, and savoring its desire laid out before it.”
“I may have been free from my cell, but I’d always be caged inside the walls of my mind–where he’s still the master. Intoxicating and unyielding.”
Pretty Lost Dolls, there is not much I can say about you because I don’t want to spoil it. But, holy hell did this story take me for a ride. This story and this twisted journey that K. Webster and Ker Dukey took me on was one for the books. Pretty Lost Dolls picks up right where the last book left off and will definitely keep you on pins and needles. These two incredibly talented authors will take you to the edge of your comfort zone, and then will push you past those limits of comfort. The tale that they have weaved is dark and intense and thrilling at the same time. There are crazy twists and unexpected turns. And an ending that will leave your mind racing.
Pretty Lost Dolls is incredibly well written and is one shocking and entertaining read. This book/series is the perfect one for a buddy read because you might want someone to hold your hand as you go along for this crazy and twisted ride….

Review: Dollars (Dollar #2) by Pepper Winters
My Review
“She was mine in both possession and obligation.”
“Nakedness had been used as a weapon against me. To strip me bare; to teach me I had nothing of my own–no value but the skin I lived in. My body was the only thing I would ever call mine, but in that simplicity I found power. I never had to suffer ropes or chains made out of silk or velvet. Never had to suffocate in elastic or zippers. I was free.”
“Elder Prest was the most dangerous man I’d ever known. Not because he could kill me whenever he chose, but because he had the power to steal so much more than just my life. He could steal my heart.”
Ever since I finished Pennies, I have been waiting, dying to know what happened next. I was on pins and needles and had sooooo many questions that I could not wait to get answered. So, you can bet when I got my hands on Dollars, I dropped everything I was doing. That’s right. I dropped everything.
Dollars picks up right where Pennies left off. Pim is a shell of a woman and is damaged in ways you can’t even imagine. For once in Pim’s life she is safe and sheltered. She is given a chance to heal, to recover. She is given a chance to be a woman….If only it were that easy. Trusting and believing that she is safe is not an easy feat. She is so broken and so defeated. And then there is Elder. There are so many questions surrounding him. Who is this man? What is his ultimate agenda? Will he help or will he break Pim?
There is a chemistry and connection between Pim and Elder. It is unknown and shocking to both. But, it is there and it is slow building. They are both trying to fight it and at the same time trying to fight their true selves…
For me, Dollars was a fantastic read. It was slow building and intriguing. After the chaos and intensity of Pennies, I think this book was just what we needed. To me, Dollars is a story of rebirth, healing and finding strength. It is building towards a second chance at life and maybe even at love.
Pim and Elder’s story has once again thrilled me and intrigued me. I am once again left with a lot of burning questions that I will be impatiently awaiting the answers to. I look forward to getting my hands on the next book in this series and seeing just how Pim and Elder’s story will continue to unravel. Until then, all I can tell you to do is sit back and enjoy the ride….

Samuel Clearwater, A.K.A Preppy, likes bowties, pancakes, suspenders, good friends, good times, good drugs, and a good f*ck.
He’s worked his way out from beneath a hellish childhood and is living the life he’s always imagined for himself. When he meets a girl, a junkie on the verge of ending it all, he’s torn between his feelings for her and the crippling fear that she could be the one to end the life he loves.
Andrea ‘Dre’ Capulet is strung out and tired.
Tired of living for her next fix. Tired of doing things that make her stomach turn. Tired of looking in the mirror at the reflection of the person she’s become. Just when she decides to end it all, she meets a man who will change the course of both their lives forever.
And their deaths.
For most people, death is the end of their story.
For Preppy and Dre, death was only the beginning.
This is the fifth book in the King Series and it’s meant to be read after Soulless.
My Review
“I never knew true fear until I met pure evil. He wore a smile and a bow tie.”
“I wanted to see her sad. Taste her tears. I wanted to what she sounded like when she cried. In pain, in pleasure, in both.”
“He molded his lips to mine, and I know he was giving me everything he had in that kiss because I felt it all. His frustration, his sadness, his hurt, his desire, his anger, his confusion, but there was something else there. Something stronger. More powerful. More everything. Above all else, I felt his love. He’d said he couldn’t keep me. That didn’t mean I wouldn’t always be his.”
Preppy. Preppy. Preppy. How I have been waiting for your story. You were one of my most beloved characters in the King Series, and I have been waiting with baited breath to hear your story….And boy, you did not disappoint. From the moment you introduced yourself as Samuel Clearwater with those suspenders and your signature bow tie, I was hooked. I wanted to know more about this sick, complex and twisted individual.
As you can only imagine, Preppy’s story is anything but hearts and flowers. It is dark, complex and haunting. As his story is told, you finally get to see who this man is and why he is the way that he is. He isn’t perfect, but loves and cares about those who he holds dear, the best way that he can. He meets his match in an equally confused and messed up person, Andrea (Dre). The two of them fighting and holding on as best as they can. Their story is compelling and intriguing; one that I found impossible to put down.
Preppy: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater took me on one crazy, intense and thrilling ride. There were twists and turns that I never saw coming and the ending will leave your heart racing and dying for more….

Excerpt
“No! I hate you,” she spat, as I continued to tug her beside me.
“Good, you can hate me while I fuck you,” I said. “But first things first. My lesson obviously didn’t take in that brain of yours. You want what you want and I can’t stop you,” I said, as we approached the train tracks which were elevated on a mound of gravel several feet off the ground. The warning lights flashed orange, the neon reflective barriers dropped down to cover the service road, while the bells indicating an approaching train clanged away. “And since I can’t stop you, I’m going to help you out. Bullet in the head was so three hours ago. I’ve got something even better in mind now.”
“Wait. What?” she asked, her teeth chattering. “You…you wouldn’t.”
“Wouldn’t what?” I said, turning around to face her, almost losing my footing when I noticed the trail of dried tears on her cheeks. I looked away for a fraction of a second to regain my composure. “You think I wouldn’t kill someone?” I cocked an eyebrow. “You already know that I’ve been there, done that, bought the motherfucking t-shirt, doll.” Her eyes went wide and she made a move to step back. “Oh no, Doc, I read your letter and I saw what you wanted. And remember, I’m nothing if not accommodating.”
When I pulled her to climb the gravel mound her knees locked up so I bent over and picked her up by the waist, tossing her over my shoulder, carrying her onto the tracks while she beat on my back with her closed fists. When I got to the top I set her down roughly and she fell backwards onto her ass, bracing herself with her hands against the large pieces of gravel under the tracks.
The whistle of the train blew in the distance. It wouldn’t be long now. Dre made a move to stand up, but that wasn’t what I had in mind. I bent down and pushed on her chest, spreading her tiny frame across the tracks. I crawled on top of her, pinning her down with my thighs. I leaned over her, my chest to hers as we both breathed rapidly. She struggled underneath me to get up, pushing at my chest, but I wouldn’t budge. “Why the struggle, Doc? This is what you wanted, isn’t it?”
She glanced up at me as the train whistled again. Her gaze flipped to her right, where the single yellow light from the train emerged from around the corner, shining brighter and brighter as it chugged closer and closer. For a moment she stopped struggling, looking back and forth from the train to me.
“So what, you’re gonna die too?” she asked, hoping to appeal to my sense of self preservation.
I shrugged. “I get bored easily, maybe the devil will make me his errand boy or something.”
“Preppy, this isn’t funny. Get up and get off the fucking tracks,” she said, her concern shifting from herself to me.
I shook my head and yawned. She wiggled underneath me, and although there was a train barreling toward us my cock once again stirred to life. Maybe I should just rip down her panties and push inside of her. Train or no train, it would be one fuck of a way to go out.
“You have to choose, Doc,” I said, making my voice as serious as I was capable. “Life?” I asked, screaming over the sound of the train screeching against the track. I pushed my hard cock against her core and she gasped. Her trembling turned into a shiver, her mouth fell open. I glanced to the side at the blinding light of the approaching train as it bathed us both in a tunnel of light. I leaned down, so close that my lips were a whisper above hers, as I shouted, “Life? Or death? What’s it gonna be, Doc?” My hair blew around my face as the light grew brighter and brighter. “Answer the fucking question!” I demanded, my hands squeezing her shoulders, my fingers digging roughly into her skin. “DO YOU WANT TO FUCKING DIE?”
With only seconds left until we became shredded under the train, Dre closed her eyes and sighed. When she opened them again they were glistening, fresh tears spilling from the edges.
She started to speak, her lips forming the beginning of the word, but before it could fully leave her lips I stood, pulling her up with me. I lifted Dre into my arms and took a running leap off the tracks, my legs flailing in the air as we fell the seven or so feet. Dre’s decision still on her lips, her scream surrounding the air around us as we crashed down into the field.
“I wanna liiiiiiiiiiiivvvvvveeeeee.”

Review: This Isn’t You, Baby by K. Webster
I was a pawn.
Weak and someone easily manipulated.
To be played with as he saw fit.
Until YOU.
YOU shone light in my now dark world.
It was YOU who made me smile.
For the first time in this game, I had hope.
All because of YOU.
The more powerful pieces on the board, however, were a threat to YOU and me.
They would win at any cost.
Two kings ruling with an iron fist.
Allies or opponents, it was hard to tell.
YOU promised to save me.
Told me we would win.
But then I was on the wrong side of the board.
This isn’t YOU, baby.
And I don’t know what to do.
The game is almost over and I’m counting on YOU.
Tick, tock…
Warning:
This Isn’t You, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes, excessive drug use, and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for YOU.
This story will make YOU smile.
This story will make YOU angry.
This story will make YOU crazy.
I hope YOU love it, baby.
My Review
“I’m going to love you until your heart stops bleeding from all the shit you’ve endured.”
K. Webster loves to continuously surprise me. I no longer know what to expect when I pick up one of her books and I have to tell you, that is the best thing possible….
When I saw This Isn’t You, Baby hit my kindle, I was so excited. I couldn’t wait to dive in and devour all the words. And I have to tell you, I was hooked from page one. I was sucked into the Brie’s story and could not burn through the pages fast enough. Brie’s story took me on a ride I never expected. It was filled with lots of delicious twists and turns that I never saw coming.
Gosh, there is just so much I want to say about this book, but I can’t. This book needs to be read and experienced for yourself. You need to go into this story blind like I did and take the journey with Brie. Here is what I can tell you: Expect the unexpected. Be prepared to go on a crazy journey. Be prepared for your emotions to be all over the place and for your heart to be tugged in many directions. In true K. Webster fashion, I will tell you that there will be some darkness. There will be some shocking moments. There will be some sweetly unexpected moments.
This Isn’t You, Baby is a fantastic addition to War & Peace series. It took me by surprise in the best way possible. It gave me absolutely everything I wanted and more. This story is filled with angst and romance. There is drama and shocking surprises. This book literally has everything I wanted and more. K. Webster has once again blown me away and has me waiting with baited breath to get my hands on the next book…

Tiny flashes of dim light spark in the darkened corners of my mind. Slowly, it turns from dusk to dawn, awakening my thoughts as the inner light grows brighter and brighter.
I hear a sound, a faucet running, and I realize it’s the blood rushing through my ears. When it reaches my heart I choke as it comes back to life like a bass drum. Boom. BaBOOM it beats, on and on, until it falls into a quick yet steady rhythm. The new life inside me grows louder, stronger, until death fades away and I awake on a gasp.
My eyes spring open. I try to take in air, but nothing happens. I try again and my lungs burn as they finally decide to cooperate. I can breathe, but it hurts like a son of a bitch.
I’m fucking alive.
My first thoughts shock the shit out of me. They’re of a girl. A sad looking girl with shiny black hair and huge dark eyes sitting on the edge of the water tower.
My heart falls out of rhythm, beating faster and faster until it’s thrumming against my chest like the vibration of a jackhammer.
Her.
Although my vision is blurry as shit, my thoughts of her are clearer than they’d ever been, and for the first time in my adult life, I’m fucking scared.
I don’t even need to see the big motherfucker standing over me with a baseball bat to know I am completely and totally fucked.

Review: This Isn’t Over, Baby (War & Peace #3) by K. Webster
They’d won the battle and I held up the white flag of defeat…
But the war wasn’t OVER.
I suffered the aching loss of what they had stolen from me.
OVER and OVER again, my heart broke.
The white Queen and the black King had taken OVER the game
and ruled for what seemed like eternity.
Until one day, eternity was finally OVER.
I was the dark knight who would rise again and conquer.
I was the man who would win OVER the most important piece on the board.
A slayer. A protector. A father.
A new king with the blackest of hearts.
And head OVER heels in love with…
The little princess who owned my twisted soul.
Sometimes the villains don’t just want their happy ending…
They demand it.
This isn’t OVER, baby.
This will never be OVER.
Warning: This Isn’t Over, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes and violence which could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. This story is NOT for everyone.
