Release Day Blitz: Damnable Grace by Tillie Cole

Secrets never stay hidden.

The burden of guilt never lifts from the heart.

Born and raised in The Order of David, Sister Phebe knows nothing but cult life. Head of the Sacred Sisters of New Zion, Phebe was groomed from childhood for one purpose: to seduce. Prized as a harlot, as a New Zion whore, Phebe is taken from the doomed cult by Meister, the notorious leader of the Aryan Brotherhood. Taken as his possession. Taken to be the woman who will obey his every sexual demand. Under his heavy hand, Phebe finds herself in a place much worse than she could ever have imagined… with absolutely no one to help. And no glimpse of hope.

Xavier ‘AK’ Deyes is content with his life as Sergeant-At-Arms of the Hades Hangmen. Leader of the infamous ‘Psycho Trio’ and ex-special ops sniper, AK knows how to fight. Experienced in warfare and schooled in military operations, AK is vital to the Hangmen. When his Vice President needs help retrieving his missing sister-in-law, Phebe, from a Klan-funded trafficking ring, AK volunteers to go in. AK remembers the redhead from New Zion. Remembers everything about her from the single time they met—her red hair, blue eyes and freckled face. But when he finds her, heavily drugged and under Meister’s control, her sorry condition causes him to remember more than the beautiful woman he once tied to a tree. Saving Phebe forces hidden demons from his past to return. A past he can never move on from, no matter how hard he tries.

As AK fights to help Phebe, and in turn she strives to help him, they realize their secret sins will never leave them alone. Kindred broken souls, they realize the only way they can be rid of their ghosts is to face them together and try to find peace.

Despair soon turns to hope, and damaged hearts soon start to heal. But when their deep, painful scars resurface, becoming too much to bear, the time comes when they must make a heavy choice: stay forever damned; or together, find grace.

Review: Crossroads (Wind Dragons MC #6) by Chantal Fernando

Ranger is at a crossroads: he has a chance to leave the motorcycle club and do something else with his life—but he keeps getting dragged back. When the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club asks for his help, Ranger agrees, not only because it is hard to say no to them, but also because he has a vested interest.

A woman is missing.

And Ranger knows her.

The Wind Dragons aren’t the only ones hoping this girl can be found—on the hunt is Johanna Chase, a stubborn detective who won’t give up until the missing woman is found safe. She needs Ranger to navigate the underground world of motorcycle clubs, and immediately, sparks fly. Ranger fights the attraction. He has no plans on going there, no matter how beautiful and badass she is. A biker and a cop? Ridiculous.

But the two of them soon realize that they’re in way over their heads, and now they have to trust each other in order to save her. With the WDMC and the police force at their back, it should be no problem, right?

My Review

A delicious and exciting addition to the Wind Dragons MC Series!

Crossroads is the 6th book in the Wind Dragons MC Series, but can be read as a stand alone novel. Crossroads is told from dual points of view and follows the story of Ranger and Johanna. Ranger and Johanna are the complete and total unlikely pair. Ranger is a biker and lives his life to the biker code. Johanna is a police detective. These two couldn’t be more different if they tried, but when a special case comes up, this unlikely pair will have to find a way to work side by side. Shouldn’t be too hard, right? Wrong. From the moment Ranger and Johanna meet, sparks fly and quickly turn into a raging inferno. They both try their hardest to fight the pull they feel towards one another. But, a connection like this, is one that will refuse to be smothered. The stakes are high and the obstacles are even bigger. Will this unlikely pair take the leap? There is only one way to find out….

Crossroads is an exciting and fast paced story. From the moment you pick up this book, you are sucked into Ranger and Johanna’s tale. One of the things I enjoyed about their story was just how unlikely of a pair these two were. I mean, they were as opposite as opposite can get. But, despite their differences, they made a really great team. They worked hard at building a trust between them. I appreciated the alpha male in Ranger. Not only was he a determined man, but he didn’t let arguments go. He believed in working through issues and finding resolutions. He was also very protective of those he cared about and refused to give up, even in the most dire of situations. And Johanna was tough as nails. She was also fierce and determined. She would stop at nothing to solve her cases, especially the one that she was currently working on. The road to HEA was not an easy one. It was filled with obstacles and drama. These two had a lot to work through to get to the ending they wanted…

Overall, I thought this was a really great read. This story was well written and fast paced. Definitely a book you could finish in one sitting. I enjoyed the characters and found them easy to follow and connect with. This story had just the right amount of drama, action, suspense and of course, sexy good times. Overall, a great read and wonderful addition to this series.

Review: Make It Hurt (Texas Bounty #2) by Jackie Ashenden

The Texas Bounty series heats up as a female bounty hunter goes toe-to-toe with the tantalizing biker who never stopped loving her.

Nora Sutcliffe enjoys having tough guys at her mercy—preferably in handcuffs. The best fugitive recovery agent in the business, Nora always gets her man. But when her latest pursuit leads her to a notorious biker hangout, she’s reunited with “Smith”: the one man who was too hot for Nora to handle. Once upon a time, she was a rich girl and he was a bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Now she needs his help, and she’ll do whatever it takes to get it.

Eight years ago, Smith let a pretty little Texas debutante break his heart. He picked up the pieces, went to hell and back with the army, then rode out of the darkness with a gang of outlaws at his back. The last thing he needs is a blast from the past like Nora, who has reinvented herself as a gun-toting badass with the stones to challenge him in front of the whole club. But if she thinks Smith will give up one of his brothers for a single night of pleasure, she’s in for a rude awakening.

My Review

Overall, I found this book to be quite enjoyable. This is my first read by this author and I have to say,  Make It Hurt was a quick and easy read for me. I loved the concept and story-line. I found Nora and Smith to a very interesting couple and was excited to see how things would play out with them. You see, Nora is a bounty hunter and Smith is a biker. The two of them couldn’t be more opposites, but share a complicated history. I thought that Smith and Nora had some really good chemistry and they definitely shared some scorching times together.

Make It Hurt isn’t 100% perfect and does have some areas which could have been improved upon such as overall character development. That being said, I did find the book entertaining and was able to finish it one sitting. I think this series has a lot of good potential and I look forward to seeing where the author will take it next.

Review: Last Ride (Wind Dragons MC #5.5) by Chantal Fernando

The Wind Dragons MC couple who started it all is back! We met the stars of Chantal Fernando’s bestselling series in Dragon’s Lair, and now Sin and Faye are ready for more—and with these two, that means more passion, more action, and more of the best kind of trouble.

Sin, president of the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club, doesn’t mind that things have quieted down since he got married—with Faye at his side, he’ll never be bored. Plus, they’ve got their little girl Clover to keep them on their toes. But when new MC brother Talon needs help rooting out a traitor in his old club, Faye’s the first to volunteer. She’s more determined than ever to get involved and put her law degree to good use, but Sin soon finds himself riding to the rescue. Because he’ll kill anybody who touches a hair on Faye’s head—if she doesn’t get to them first. One way or another, tonight’s going to be someone’s last ride….

My Review

You know, when you’re reading a novella, there truly isn’t much you can say because you don’t want to spoil things or give anything away. Last Ride brings us back to the MC couple that started it all. And their novella does not disappoint. It’s got all the elements that I have come to know and love in a Chantal Fernando novel. You’ve got bad ass bikers and lots of action. There’s danger and exciting twists and turns. You’ll be left on the edge of your seat, waiting breathlessly to see how it will all play out….

Yes, Last Ride might just be a quick read, but it certainly packs a punch. This book entertained me and kept me engaged the entire time. This story took me on one thrilling ride and I enjoyed every single second of it.

Review: Devil’s Honor (The Devil’s Keepers #1) by Megan Crane

Merritt Broussard grew up knowing she had two choices if she stayed in Lagrange: run with the outlaws or get left in their dust. So she got the hell out, leaving behind a bad-boy biker and scorching memories of their summer fling. Now Merritt’s back, with trouble on her tail, and the sergeant-at-arms of the Devil’s Keepers is the one person she can still trust. But Greeley isn’t the boy she remembers. He’s harder now, more dangerous—and even more alluring.

Joseph “Greeley” Shaw loves two things: his bike and his club. At eighteen, he escaped a rough life, found the Devil’s Keepers on the wrong side of a bad weekend, and never looked back. Greeley swore to live and die by their code: Devil’s Keepers first, Devil’s Keepers forever. No one comes between him and his brothers—except for the tantalizing woman who touched his soul. Greeley’s the kind of man who honors his commitments . . . and Merritt is one promise he’s determined to keep.

My Review

Overall, I thought Devil’s Honor was a good book. It was a quick, easy read and a great second chance romance. Merritt pulled me in right away and had me wanting to know more about her and Greeley’s story. Greeley and Merritt made for one interesting couple. They really were opposites, but they made up for their differences in some scorching hot chemistry. Their chemistry was undeniable and I loved how Merritt brought out the alpha in Greeley.

For the most part, I really enjoyed this book. I thought that the plot was entertaining and I loved how sweet Greeley was with Merritt. However, I did have a couple of issues with this story. I had a few problems with the flow of the story. It wasn’t always on track. It felt like there certain moments where the story skipped ahead or a part was left out. And those moments left me feeling confused, and I would have to try to figure out what was missing. Also, Merritt did drive me a little nuts with her back and forth with Greeley. He honestly was a great guy, so unlike most of the bikers you read in other stories, and I just wanted to shake Merritt for the way she acted sometimes.

Even though I had some issues with this story, I have to say, the overall bones of it were good and despite the problems I had, I couldn’t stop reading. I had to know how things would turn out for our two main characters. Overall, I think this series has a ton of great potential. I think if the kinks are worked out, this will make for a really exciting biker series.

Release Blitz with Review: Nitro’s Torment by Nina Levine

Tatum Lee is a pain in my ass.
She’s stubborn, full of attitude, and she doesn’t like to do what she’s told.
And yet, at a time when I should be focusing on the war my club is at, she consumes my mind because she’s also fearless and fierce, and I’ve never met a woman like her.

The thing about war, though, is the minute you let your focus drop, your enemy rises up and attacks. And sometimes they bring you to your knees in ways you never imagined.

The other thing about war? You learn just what you’re capable of doing to protect those you love.

My Review

“There were moments in your life that brought you to your knees. Moments that punched the absolute fuck out of you. I was having one of those moments.”

“Sometimes the person you least expected was the person there for you in the dark of night. In the middle of your nightmare.”

“I didn’t want him to see me. It was as if my soul was on display and he could see every inch of it. Every crack. Every wound. Every flaw.”

Nitro’s Torment is a fast paced, thrilling and gritting mc read. This story will pull you in from page one and take you on one exciting ride. From the moment you pick this story up, you will not be able to put it down. From badass bikers to a thrilling story-line, there is never a dull moment.

I fell in love with Nitro and Tatum from the very beginning. Nitro was this badass alpha male who would do anything to protect those he loved. Tatum brought out a side in him that he didn’t know existed. She not only challenged him, but made him want more out of the dark life that he lived. And Tatum…I fell in love with her sass. She took nothing from no one and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. Put her together with Nitro and you got one explosive couple. Yes, Nitro and Tatum were a force to be reckoned with. They balanced each other out perfectly and gave just as good as they got. Their banter was entertaining and their chemistry steamed up the pages. I couldn’t get enough of these two.

Overall, I found this book to be a really enjoyable read. I was captivated and entertained. This story was raw and gritty with just the right amount of darkness, romance and drama. The characters were easy to connect with and had amazing chemistry. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can not wait to see where the series will go next.

I sat next to him. I wasn’t sure why except that for the first time since I’d met him, he seemed like he needed someone. Even if it was just to sit with him. I stole a glance at his face. It was hard to find skin under all the dried blood. “I take it the other guy lost.”

He held my gaze for a long time before answering me. God, how I wondered what thoughts ran through Nitro’s mind. It felt like he either ran from them or got lost in them, but I wasn’t convinced he was often comfortable with them. Something we had in common. “That depends on your definition of winning.”

I didn’t need him to spell it out for me. And I didn’t push him for more. Instead, I walked into the bathroom. Locating a clean washer in the drawer, I wet it and walked back out to him. Standing in between his legs, I began the task of cleaning up his face.

This was something I knew well. My brother had often turned up on my doorstep in this state. Caring for him had always been my responsibility. How could it not be when his journey in life had been dictated by my own?

Nitro hissed when I accidentally pressed too hard on his cheek. His hand landed on mine and he halted my progress. “I can do this myself.”

I pulled my hand away from his face. “Yeah, you can, but I’m doing it, so just let me.”

“Always arguing with me,” he murmured, allowing me to go on.

I worked in silence and when I’d cleaned the blood from his face, I said, “I’m going to get some ice for your face. Wait here.”

I hurried down to the bar because I figured he had work to get back to and no time to waste. Kree loaded me up with ice and a towel to wrap it in. When I arrived back in his room, he was in the shower. He didn’t take longer than a few minutes and when he exited the bathroom wearing only a towel around his waist, I sucked in a breath at the magnificence of his body.

Nitro was a powerhouse of hard muscle that went hand-in-hand with his fearless warrior instincts. Standing before me, almost naked, his masculinity caught me off guard and a rush of desire hit me. My thoughts stalled and I momentarily forgot what I was doing. All I could focus on was the throbbing need deep in my core. A new hum filled my entire being, unlike anything I’d ever felt before.

“You got ice?” His deep voice snapped me from my hypnosis.

“Ah… yeah,” I mumbled, shoving the towel with the ice in it at him, almost dropping it as I did so.

He frowned, his eyes searching mine. “You good, Vegas?”

Fuck, no, I wasn’t.

I was fucked.

I nodded, swallowing hard. “I’m good.”

I was so far from good.

I wanted something I didn’t want to want.

I wanted him.

How the hell did my world turn in such a short space of time? What the fuck triggered that? Because whatever it was, I needed to un-trigger it.

He took the ice from me and turned to head back into the bathroom, grabbing clothes on the way. I was helpless to do anything but watch him walk away. My eyes stayed glued to the powerful muscles that built his back. And that ass. God, that ass. Even covered in a towel it was hard not to stare at.

I was so engrossed in his back and ass that he caught me off guard again when he dropped the towel and dressed without closing the bathroom door.

Fuck it, I was out. I yanked the bedroom door open and left as fast as I could. I needed to find a quiet corner and gather my thoughts. I needed to wipe everything that had just happened from my memory. Somehow, though, I suspected Nitro was not a man to ever be wiped from a woman’s memory.
