Behind the “lights, camera, action” of Hollywood lies a world of deception, love, and seduction.

The problem is so does everyone else, and she’s about to leave on the biggest concert tour of her life.
Headlining for the first time in five years.

Around the world in ninety days. Should be a piece of cake.

“I didn’t just want to kiss you last night in the bar. I wanted to own you, claim you, make you fucking mine. I wanted to get lost in the kiss I know I will never, ever forget. A kiss I know the minute it happens will be over for us because there will be no other.”

“I didn’t know what she was, but I knew one thing, and that was that she was mine.” “So you can label it whatever you want.”

Ever since I finished Hollywood Playboy, I have been dying to get my hands on the next book in the Hollywood Royalty Series. We get a little taste of the dynamic between Kellie and Brian in Hollywood Playboy and the moment I encountered those two, I was completely intrigued. I couldn’t wait to find out more about these two characters who unknowingly captured a piece of my heart…

Hollywood Princess was just as exciting and thrilling as I hoped it would be. I was hopelessly addicted to the story-line and the characters. And I certainly was not disappointed. Kellie was everything you would expect as far as a Hollywood Princess goes. She was supremely talented and was about to go on the biggest tour of her life. But, with fame comes a price. When a threat is brought up against Kellie, her tour security will be tighter than ever. The only problem, the security detail turns out to be Brian, the one man she’s always wanted, but who hasn’t fallen for her charms…

Hollywood Princess kept me on my toes from beginning to end. I was hooked. I was captivated. I was glued to the pages. The chemistry between Kellie and Brian blew me away and left me breathless in anticipation. I loved seeing the two of them interact and just lived for the will they/won’t they moments. Their passion and tension had me salivating and kept me begging for more. I just couldn’t get enough of Kellie & Brian together.

Hollywood Princess wasn’t just a love story. It was a story filled with friendship and drama. A story with intense chemistry and suspense. A story with danger lurking around the corner. I was on pins and needles waiting to see how the story was going to play out. I loved all the twists and turns. I loved all the emotion and angst. I loved the fire and the heat. I just loved it all. Hollywood Princess was a thrilling ride and I loved spending the day getting lost in Brian & Kellie.

When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…

“I cannot imagine a world without this story.” – Hypable

“A stunning, emotional romance.” – Jill Shalvis, NYT Bestselling Author

My Review

“Sometimes you have to leave so you can know what it is you left. You don’t really value something until you’ve lost it.”

“I’d always been big, but something about how fragile she seemed made me feel huge, like I could put my body in front of the storm headed her way and protect her…even if the storm was of my own making.”

“I loved this woman. I would take on armies for her, kill for her, or die for her. There was no grater truth than that, and no other truth that I could give her. Because where she was honest and strong, and kind, I was a liar who had already hurt her in the worst possible way. I had no right to hold her like this, but even worse–I wasn’t going to move a muscle.”

“Because from the moment I saw your face and heard you speak, you were the only one I wanted. You ruined me for anyone else before you ever knew my name.” She ruined me from the second she’d said she regretted writing in pen. She’d had every ounce of my soul when I finished that first letter. “Now that I’ve had one night with you, I don’t want only one. I want them all, and I’m willing to take whatever you want to give me.”

“Hope is good. Feel it. Because you have no idea what’s coming around the corner. You have to take the good when it comes, because the bad isn’t going to give you a choice.”

There are books that you read, and you completely forget them once you come to the end. And then there are books like this one. Books that embed themselves deep within you. Books that stir up all of your emotions and you just know that reading this book is going to change your life. The Last Letter is that kind of book. It’s the kind of book that just calls out to your soul and demands to be read. It’s the kind of book that you think you’re prepared for, but you couldn’t be more wrong. It’s the kind of book that destroys you, yet fills you with hope all at the same time. It’s the kind of book that will have you crying all of the ugly tears you can summon up. This is the kind of book that I can’t imagine never getting to experience. It’s completely and totally unforgettable and one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life.

As I sit here thinking about The Last Letter, I am a total loss for words. I’m having the hardest time trying to sum up all of my thoughts and feeling into coherent sentences. It’s been such a long time since I’ve had a book make me feel this way. How do you write a review for a book that obliterated your heart? When the writing just slays you, leaving you utterly speechless with tear filled eyes? I don’t know if I have the words to do this review justice, but I’m going to try my best.

The Last Letter grabbed me from the very first page. I loved the idea of this story and felt an instant connection with the characters. At 10% I wanted to cry. Little did I know that wouldn’t be the last time that tears would fill my eyes. This story and the characters felt so real. I felt like I knew them. I felt like I was right inside the pages with the characters and living each moment along with them. There were moments of bliss and happiness. Moments of rage and heartache. Moments where I just wanted to scream and walk away from my kindle. Moments I never saw coming, but even in their sadness, it filled my heart with the biggest love. Never, ever has a story ever touched my heart the way that this one has. I’ve never had a group of fictional characters ingrain themselves like this. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t one single character in this story that didn’t run away with a piece of my heart. From Ryan to Chaos to Ella and her beautiful kids: Maisie and Colton. Each one of them consumed me and stole a piece of me that I never want to get back.

The Last Letter is one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful books that I have ever read. The writing will not only slay you, but take you on the most incredible journey. The characters will consume you and you won’t be able to put their story down. The Last Letter was everything that I never knew I needed and can’t imagine my life without. Even now, hours later, I still have tears in my eyes thinking about this book. There aren’t enough words to describe just how special this journey is that Rebecca Yarros has taken me on. The Last Letter isn’t always an easy read. In fact, there are moments that are going to hurt, maybe even break you. Rebecca Yarros broke my heart. She made me cry. She left me an emotional mess. Yet, at the same time, she reminded me how precious life is. How important those small, little moments are. She reminded me to appreciate each moment and to never give up. To love with each and every breath. Books like this are the reason that I read. It’s stolen a piece of me and I know I’ll never be the same again.

In the end, all that’s left to say is I hope you will read this book. If it’s not already on your radar or to-read list, stop what you’re doing. Run and add this book to your list. I hope you will take a chance and experience the beauty of it. I hope you will experience all that I have and I promise you, Rebecca Yarros will make all the pain and hurt worth it in the end.

“Ella.” It was a plea to speak, to not speak. Hell, I didn’t know anymore.

“You don’t see me like that. I totally get it.” She reached for the TV remote.

“How exactly do I see you? Please, enlighten me.” I leaned forward, stealing the remote. She’d opened this box and had better well dish it.

She huffed in annoyance. “You see me as a mom. As Colt and Maisie’s mom. And of course you do, because that’s what I am. A mom with two kids.”

“Well, yeah,” I said. Her motherhood—that selfless devotion she had to her kids—was one of her most attractive attributes.

She rolled her eyes with a little sigh, and the metaphorical light bulb went off in my head.

“You don’t think I want you.”

She shot me a look that confirmed my guess and blushed the same crimson of her couch. “You know, you’re right. It’s late.” She faked a yawn. “Suuuuuuper late.”

“I want you.” Damn, it felt so good to say the words.

“Yeah, okay.” She gave me a goofy look and a thumbs-up. “Please don’t make me feel any more idiotic than I do right now.”

Yeah, enough of this bullshit.

I pounced in one smooth motion, taking her back to the couch, sliding over her as I gathered her wrists in one hand above her head and settled between her open thighs.

“Holy shit, you move fast.” There was no fear or rejection in her eyes, just surprise.

“Not in every arena,” I promised.

Her lips parted.

“Ella. I want you.”

“Beckett…you don’t have to.”

Yeah, that soft little sigh she did was going to be my undoing.

I let go of her wrists, letting my fingers trail down her arm until I had one hand weaving my fingers into the hair at the base of her scalp and the other at the curve in her waist.

“Feel this?” Then I slid forward, letting my dick stroke along the seam in her pajama pants hard enough for her to gasp at the contact. I couldn’t remember ever wanting to shred a piece of fabric so much in my life. “I’ve never wanted a woman as much as I want you.”

I moved again, and her eyes slid shut as she let loose the sweetest moan.

My dick throbbed, knowing everything I’d fantasized about for the better part of the last eight months was one decision away.

“Beckett.” Her hands found my biceps, her nails digging in.

“Don’t ever think that I don’t want you, because if things were different, I would have already been inside you. I would know exactly how you feel, and what you sound like, look like, when you come. I’ve thought about it at least a hundred different ways, and believe me, I’ve got a great imagination.”

She rocked her hips against me, and I locked my jaw to keep from giving her exactly what her body was asking for. “Ella, you have to stop.”

“Why?” she asked, her lips dangerously close to mine. “What do you mean if things were different?” Her eyes flew wide. “Is this because I have kids?”

“What? No. Of course not. It’s because you’re Ryan’s little sister.” Before I could do any more damage, I got the hell off her and sat back on my side of the couch.

“Because…I’m Ryan’s little sister,” she repeated, scooting so she sat upright, facing me. “And you think he’d, what? Haunt you?”

Three things: The letter. The cancer. The lie.

I repeated those in my head until I was certain I could look at her and not drag her back under me.

“When I was growing up, if I wanted something, I took it. Immediately. I had sex at fourteen with a girl in my foster home of the moment. I opened Christmas presents early if I was lucky enough to get one, and it was usually from my social worker or some charity.”

“I don’t understand.” She wrapped her arms around her knees again.

“I took it immediately because I knew if I didn’t, chances were I wouldn’t get it. It was a now-or-never kind of thing—there weren’t second chances.”

“I can’t touch you, can’t talk about it, because I’m afraid I’ll act on it.”

“And why does that matter if I want you to?”

“Because I won’t get a second chance. And I’m crap with people, with relationships. I’ve never had one that lasted more than a month. Never loved a woman I’ve slept with. And chances are I’d do something to screw this up, because it’s not just my dick that wants you, Ella.”

That O popped right back onto her face, and I closed my eyes to keep from lunging across the distance and kissing her. Knowing she’d let me—that she wanted it—sent my need from a bullet to a nuclear missile.

“And when I’d screw it up, because it would happen, trust me, it would hurt Colt and Maisie, too. You’d be on your own again, because there’s no chance you’d let me hang around and help you out like Ryan asked.”

“And there it is.”

“There it is. You’re Ryan’s little sister.”

“There were only five years between us. Not so little, you know.” She reached for the remote.

“I’m well aware.”

“So if Ryan were still alive…” She shot one last look at me.

I let everything slip for a millisecond, letting her see it all in my eyes, how badly I wanted her, and not just for her body. “Everything would be different.”

“Everything but the way I feel about you, which he probably would have killed me for. Where does that leave us?”

“You mean besides me being a dried-up spinster and you being honor-bound to a ghost?”

“Something like that.”

She rolled her head along the back of the couch, muttering something that sounded like a curse word under her breath. Then she sat up straight and powered on the TV with a click of her thumb. “That leaves us choosing a movie on demand. Because I’m not letting you walk out that door right now.”

“You’re not?”

“Nope. You walk out now, you might get all weird about this and not come back. Honor is a fabulous thing, but sometimes pride can be a lot stronger, especially when you convince yourself it’s for the good of the other person.”

Damn, the woman knew me.

“So movie it is,” I agreed. “Just…stay on your side of the couch.”

“I wasn’t the one who crossed the center line,” she teased with a smile that got me hard all over again.

Movie chosen, we sat and watched, both of us stealing sideways glances. There was that saying…the horse out of the barn. Yeah, the horse was out of the barn, and it wasn’t going back in. Not no way. Not no how.

That horse was running amok and screwing with my carefully constructed control.

But I didn’t complain when she moved over. Or when she pressed against my side. Nope. I lifted my arm and savored the feel of her curves, her trust. Still didn’t complain when she lay down in my arms. Hell no, I held on and memorized every second.

Review: The Something about Her by Rachel Higginson

I quit life. Or at least my new job.

My new, fancy, head chef position at one of the most acclaimed restaurants in the city is not turning out like I’d hoped. I’m a mess. Totally out of my element and underqualified, I’ve been thrown into a fiery kitchen and I’m not sure I can handle the heat.

But I owe my brother. And since it’s his restaurant and he’s my favorite person in the world, I can’t walk away.

Even though I’d love to do just that. If we’re being honest though, it’s more than just my kitchen. It’s the bad date I went on last week. And my building superintendent that won’t fix my sink. It’s the creepy guy from my gym that won’t leave me alone. But mostly, it’s my friend’s brother that keeps showing up in all the worst places.

I’ve never claimed to have it together, but I certainly don’t need a man to rescue me every time I get my heel stuck in a sewer grate. Except that’s what keeps happening.

Vann Delane is pushy and stuck up and thinks he knows everything there is to know about everything. And for whatever reason, he keeps saving me.

Not that he’s happy about it. He’s made it clear what he thinks about my money and dream job and the designer shoes he saved last weekend. He’s not impressed with me and my penchant for disaster.

I’ve decided to stay away from him. I’ve got too many other fires to put out to worry about the something between us that doesn’t have a name.

So, he can give his knight in shining armor kindness to someone else. And he can save those intense glances and butterfly-inducing smiles for the nice girl he’s looking for. And he can deny it all he wants, but I know he likes me.

He says I drive him crazy. But I know there’s something about me that he can’t deny.

“In the middle of a kitchen, covered in sweat and grease, I discovered who I was.”

“The burn he’d set off inside me turned into a consuming fire driven by desire and a conviction I didn’t even know I had. I wanted this job. More than anything I had ever wanted in my life.”

“And then I was falling. Falling over the edge of sensation and feeling. Falling in love with him deeper and deeper and deeper. And falling right into his safe and wonderful arms.”

The Something about Her is the final book in the Opposites Attract series and was so worth the wait.

The Something about Her follows the story of Dillon and Vann. Dillon is at a sort of crossroads in life. She doesn’t know who she is or what she wants to be. The only thing she does know is that she loves cooking. So, when her brother offers her the chance of a lifetime to be an executive chef of one of his restaurants, she’d be a fool to turn him down. Despite feeling insecure and unsure about the direction her life has taken, Dillon is up for the challenge and is seeking advice from an unlikely source. Vann is Dillon’s total opposite. He’s exactly what Dillon needed in her life. He offered up a fresh insight to the plights of the world. He is a total health nut and comes off as a total jerk. But, man is there ever more to him than meets the eye. Sure he messed up in the beginning making assumptions about Dillon, but he’s not afraid to admit when he’s got it wrong. Together these two might seem like an unlikely pairing, but they balance each other out in ways I don’t think either of them expected.

The Something about Her was a terrific read from beginning to end. I couldn’t help but get swept up in Dillon and Vann’s story. I loved seeing Dillon take more chances and trust her instincts. I loved seeing how far Dillon has come and how hard she worked in changing her life. And Vann, while he came off as kind of a jerk, I think he was just brutally honest and didn’t always have the best delivery when it came to airing his thoughts. I loved the way he came to care for Dillon and loved seeing their relationship take course. The road to happily ever after wasn’t an easy one for these two. There were a ton of bumps in the road, but I really loved the slow burn and loved seeing these two overcome the hurdles that life threw at them.

Overall, this book was a really enjoyable read. I loved getting to know these characters and I course I loved catching up with all the previous ones. This book was exactly what I was looking for and had just the right amount of drama, romance and steamy moments. As sad as I am to see this story end, I can’t help but be excited to see what adventure this author has in store for us next……

He was surprisingly good at this, I realized. He knew exactly what he was doing. “Do you do this for all the women that biff it in front of your store?” His grin was wicked. “Technically, you’re the only woman that’s face-planted in my parking lot, that I’ve noticed.” I dug my toe into his kidneys again and loved watching him squirm. “Hey!” “A gentleman should always tell a lady that women fall all the time. That you spend half your day fixing bloody knees and scraped palms.” He looked up at me and shook his head. “How about I tell you I deal with my fair share of injuries, but usually on our Taco Tuesday bike rides. Everyone gets drunk and then wipes out and I’m usually the only one in the right mind to deal with them.” I was strangely moved by how sweet that was. “Doctor Delane, medicine cyclist.”

Beautifully Broken Pieces is an emotional and heartwarming romance with a great mix of mystery and suspense. The story-line will pull you in instantly and the characters will keep you begging for more.

I thought that romance between Taylor and Walker was just perfection. It was perfectly paced with a delicious slow burn. I loved watching their relationship build from a reluctant friendship to an inferno that couldn’t be denied. Taylor is beautifully complicated with skyhigh walls that I just couldn’t wait for Walker to break down. I couldn’t wait to see her broken pieces be put back together.

Beautifully Broken Pieces isn’t just a romance. It’s a story of loss and heartache. It’s a story of accepting the past and learning to move forward. There’s drama. There’s angst. There’s action, suspense and a couple of twists that will just keep you glued to the pages. Yep, this book hit all the marks for me and was a seriously entertaining read.

I think this new series from Catherine Cowles is off to a terrific start and I’m excited to see what she’ll have in store for us next!

Review: Irresistible (Cloverleigh Farms #1) by Melanie Harlow

I’m a full-time single dad to three daughters and CFO at Cloverleigh Farms. I don’t have time to fall in love—I’m too busy trying to run a business, keep the red socks out of the white laundry, and get the damn pillowcases on without owing a dollar to the swear jar.

Sure, Frannie Sawyer is beautiful and sweet, but she’s twenty-seven, the boss’s daughter, and my new part-time nanny—which means she’s completely off-limits. It’s bad enough I can’t stop fantasizing about her, what kind of jerk would I be if I acted on the impulse to kiss her?

(Exactly the kind of jerk you’re thinking.)

Actually, I’m worse than that—because I didn’t stop with a kiss, and now I can’t stay away. She makes me feel like myself again. She reminds me what it’s like to want something just for me. She’s everything I ever needed, but nothing I ever imagined.

I’m a former Marine. I should have had the strength to resist her from the start.

But I didn’t. And now I have to choose between the life I want and the life she deserves.

Even if it means giving her up.

“Because I’ve been fucking miserable all week. Because that night with you was the best I’ve felt in years. Because it doesn’t matter why I should stay away from you—I can’t.”

When I first heard about Irresistible, all I knew was that Melanie Harlow was giving us new words and that I just had to read it. And once I laid eyes on the cover, I swear it was love at first sight. I knew I was going to be a goner and was anxiously counting down the minutes until I had Irresistible in my hands…

Told from dual points of view, Irresistible follows the story of Mack and Frannie. Ever since Mack’s wife left him, he’s been slowly picking up the messy pieces of his life. His life is no longer all about him. He’s three little ones who depend on him and a career to worry about. He’s doing the best that he can, but is far from perfect. If it wasn’t for Frannie, Mack would be totally lost. She is a godsend and is exactly what he needs in his life. The only problem? Aside from being his part-time nanny, she’s his bosses daughter. She should be more than off-limits, but soon she will prove to be too hard to resist. The passion these two share is intense and the kind that is written in the stars. Mack wants nothing more than to have a life with Frannie and soon Mack will have to make a decision. Can he have the life he’s always wanted or will Frannie one day want more than he’s prepared to give?? You’ll just have to pick up Irresistible yourself and see how Frannie and Mack’s story ends….

Irresistible is simply irresistible. Mack and Frannie’s story had me hooked from the moment I started reading their story. I found myself glued to the pages and was dying to see how their story would play out. I was hopelessly addicted.

Mack and Frannie’s story was so frustratingly good with just the right amount of angst and drama that had my heartstrings tugging on overtime. Their story was one of friendship and passion. A story of love and doing the right thing. A story of taking risks and being willing to put your heart on the line no matter the costs.

Frannie was the absolute perfect match for Mack. She was patient and understanding. She knew what she was getting herself into and was prepared for the long haul. She was honest and loving and seriously wiser beyond her years. And then there was Mack. He’s kind of gruff, swears a lot and is in no way perfect. He’s honest about his imperfections and knows that he’s going to screw up. But, you won’t find a more devoted man & father. He just has to find the courage to let go and go after what he wants in life. Together, these two were perfectly matched. The chemistry was instant and undeniable. The push and pull left me begging for more and I wanted nothing more than for these two to have a happily ever after.

Irresistible put my heart through the paces in the best possible ways. I laughed. I swooned. I got frustrated one minute and was breathless the next. My heart was constantly filled with butterflies and I always had a smile on my face. What more could you ask for? Irresistible hit all the marks and I never wanted it to end. I loved getting to fall in love with Mack & Frannie and had a wonderful time getting lost in their love story…

Let Me Burn is a quick and enjoyable read. I was pulled in to Ember and Lucas’ story right from the very beginning. I loved getting to know these two. They were both pretty down to earth and just had an ease about them. I found Ember very easy to relate to. Even though she’s not looking for love, she isn’t completely closed to the idea. She’s a great friend and loves her job. And then we have Lucas who is hard working, determined and super charming. I really enjoyed the slow burn and pull of Lucas and Ember’s relationship. They kept me glued to the pages and I found myself unable to put this book down.

Overall, I think that this series is off to a really great start. The characters are a lot of fun and I really enjoyed getting to know all of them. These are definitely people I could see myself hanging out with if they existed in real life. I loved the small town feel to this story. The romance was sweet. The story had some nice humor and l loved that even though there was some drama, it was light for the most part. At the end of the day, this was a really nice read to spend my day getting lost in and I look forward to seeing where this series will go next.

“Will you do something for me?” Lucas asked, leaning his hand on the car and glancing up at her.

“Um, maybe?” She blinked, trying to focus. “I guess it depends what it is.”

With one hand steadying himself on the car, he ran the other across his closely cropped hair. “It doesn’t matter.”

Ember tilted her head, the smile still playing at her lips. “You can’t do that. I’m intrigued now. What is it you want me to do?”

“I… ah…” He shook his head. “You’re gonna think I’m crazy.”

She lifted an eyebrow to let him know she already did.

“But I really don’t want you to go on that date.”

Review: Boyfriend for Hire by Kendall Ryan

I’m the guy you call when you need to impress your overbearing family, your boss, or your ex. Yeah, I’m a male escort, but not just any escort, I’m the escort. The one with a mile-long waiting list and a pristine reputation that’s very well-deserved.

I’m the guy who’ll make you feel beautiful, desired, and worshipped . . . all for a steep price. I’m hired to make you shine, and I always deliver.

I’ll be whatever you want me to be for one night—except my true self. This is just a job, a role I play to earn a paycheck.

But I’m not the guy who falls for a client. Not once in six years.

And then I meet Elle. Her friend has hired me to escort her to a wedding, but Elle doesn’t know we’re just pretending.

There’s a fire between us I never expected. A connection I haven’t felt in so long. One kiss, and I’m losing all control.

But what will happen when she finds out who I really am?

“When he touches me, it’s like the whole world stops.”

Boyfriend for Hire kicks off an all new series from author Kendall Ryan and it does not disappoint!

Told from dual points of view, Boyfriend for Hire follows the story of Elle and Nic. Nic is great at his job, but his job is somewhat unconventional. He’s not just an escort, he’s the escort that all the ladies want. His waiting list is long and his reputation well deserved. He’s determined to not only show a woman a good time, but also show her just how beautiful and desired she is. But, unlike other escorts, Nic has some rules that he follows and never plans on breaking.  All is going to plan until he meets Elle. When Elle’s bff hires him to be Elle’s date for her wedding, Nic thought this was going to be just another job. But, when he meets Elle, all his thoughts fly out the window. Elle is everything Nic could ever want and never knew he needed. She makes him want to break all of his rules. The only problem?? Elle doesn’t know who Nic truely is…

Boyfriend for Hire was a truly fun read. I was sucked into the story and found myself totally captivated. I thought the story-line was a lot of fun and really enjoyed getting to know Nic and Elle. One of the things I really enjoyed was seeing that there was more to Nic than meets the eye. Sure he was good at his job, but he also recognized when the real thing was staring him in the face. I really liked that Nic took things slow. He tried to fight what he was feeling, but when he realized he couldn’t deny what he was feeling, he turned into this really swoon-worthy sweet guy. Is Nic perfect, no he’s not, but he’s pretty close. He’s a great match for Elle and I really liked the way he treated and worshiped her.

Boyfriend for Hire is a terrific read to spend your day getting lost in. The story is fun and refreshing. The characters are entertaining and will pull you into their story. The romance is sweet and has a terrific flow to it. There is plenty of passion and steamy moments and just the right amount of drama too. All in all a great read. And I’m totally looking forward to getting my hands on the next book in this series.
