Amy’s Favorite Reads of 2016!!

2016

2016 was an amazing year for book releases. There were so many amazing books that I’ve read and loved. So, for me, this year was harder than ever to narrow down that list. Almost all of these books on my list released this year, except for two. And instead of giving you the hows or whys these books made my list, I’m going to provide you with some of my favorite quotes. These are all memorable and unforgettable lines that I have highlighted in my kindle over this year.

**Just know, these books made it on to my list for many different reasons. Stories that gave me all of the feels and took me on incredible rides. But, most of all, they made this list because these books made me fall deeper in love with the written word…..

Coast by Jay McLean

coast

“His touch is like fire. Sweet, tortuous flames setting off too many emotions. I struggle, and I fight, and I fight some more, to not move away, to not fear his touch. But I fail. Because I’m Becca Owens–a broken girl. And he’s Josh Warden–the boy who broke me.”

“She made me feel weightless, feel free, feel airborne. So, I kicked, and I pushed, and for the past year, that’s all I’ve been doing because it didn’t feel the same and I knew in my heart that without her, I’d never be able to coast.”

Fly With Me by Chanel Cleeton

FlyWithMe_Final copy

“The second I saw her, my plans for the evening became whatever put me in her orbit. I didn’t know where this was headed, but right now I was happy to follow her anywhere.”

“This guy should come with a warning label. Caution: Kisses will make you forget your own name. Proceed at your own risk.”

“I was thirty years old. I’d spent most of my teen years and adult life looking for love while simultaneously guarding my heart, calculating risks, approaching love like it was something I could ensure. And here it was. Bigger than me, than my fears, than anything. There was no guarding against it. No insurance I could take out that would protect me. This was skydiving, free fall, jumping off the cliff with no idea if there was rocks below or how deep the water was. And whatever questions I might have had, the fear that I’d go splat at the bottom, were carried away with the wind.”

Lady Luck by Kristen Ashley

ladyluck

“Lady Luck finally saw fit to shine her light on me but life taught me to share. Welcome to the light.”

“My Ty. My Ty. Christ. Fuck. Christ. Two words. Just two words. Walker had no clue until that moment that two words could mean so fucking much. He’d never belonged to anyone. He’d never belonged anywhere. Never thought he wanted to. Until he heard those two words.”

Heartbreaker by Melody Grace

heartbreaker1

“I forgotten how it felt. The way he looked at me, the way his touch could make me forget my own name. I’d never felt something so wild and intoxicating, a rush that blotted out all reason and consequence, and just made me demand more, closer, now.”

“I’ll do anything for you, baby. Anything you want. I will love you until the end of the fucking world, but you don’t shut me out again. When I take you, I take all of you. Every last piece of you, body and soul.”

Down to my Soul by Kennedy Ryan

downtomysoul

“Growing up, Mama always reminded me that love keeps no record of wrongs. I didn’t know until now that true love, pure love, the right love, doesn’t keep that record because it can’t. I can’t.”

“Who needs words when we have this? This living, panting thing that ignites every second we’re together. Lust and love rub against each other vigorously like two sticks making sparks fly, the first sign of fire.”

“I claim him with the pads of my fingers, with the palms of my hands. He is mine and I am his. Our darkest secrets, shared. Our deepest places reached. We are completely known. Completely loved down to our very souls.”

Where Lightning Strikes by AL Jackson

wherelightningstrikes

“Like an aurora of dancing, captivating lights that turned out to be nothing but a black hole. Consuming life and light. Those near-black eyes caught mine, almost stopping me in my tracks as they glimmered with that same dark mischief, as if any moment he would strike. Reach out and take me in his grips. Devour and destroy and desolate.”

“There were some wounds that went too deep they could never be erased. But God, I wanted him to try. To erase some of this acute loneliness. To sate some of this inescapable attraction. All I wanted was to feel and to touch and to be touched. To love and to be loved. But I was no fool. Lyrik wasn’t going to love me. Not like I needed to be.”

“You sing my soul”- without a doubt one of the most unforgettable lines in this story…

When I’m With You by Harper Sloan

whenimwithyou

“I pushed her away because not only was she too fucking young, but also because I wasn’t ready to see what was right in front of my face.” “And now?” And now, I’m not just ready to see it, I want it more than I want my next fucking breath.”

Amazon: http://amzn.to/2hWPJ6a

Wicked Heart by Leisa Rayven

wickedheart

“How long does it take to fall in love? A second? A week? A year? It’s like asking how long it takes to fall asleep. Some people are gone as soon as their head hits the pillow. Others lie awake for hours, and it’s only when their brain stops churning for a while that sleep sneaks in and drags them under. That’s how I visualize falling in love. Some people fall so easily, they seem reckless. They love freely and unashamed.”

“Ask me to give up a limb and I swear, I’ll find a way to do it. But don’t ask me to live without you anymore. I can’t. I’m so goddamn in love with you, it hurts.”

“But the one thing you’re absolutely not allowed to give up on is true love. When you find it, you should grab it with both hands and never let go, because although it might not always be easy or convenient, it’s worth it. I can tell you that much for sure.”

Silent Hearts by Melissa West

“For me, there’s only ever been you.”

“I don’t want to screw us up, but I don’t want anyone else. Only you, Bec. It’s always been you.”

“God,did she ever love him. He was difficult and he’d hurt her worse than anyone else had dared, but she still loved him.”

Finding Me by Stephanie Rose

findingme

“All I saw–all I wanted–was Bella. She consumed me that much. What the hell was happening to me? My need for her was primal, blinding and frightening as hell. Ethan was right, I was never like this with anyone else.”

“I’m not going anywhere. I’m yours, whether or not you choose to believe that right now. And you will. I don’t quit easily, and when it comes to you, I don’t quit at all.”

The Lies That Define Us by Micalea Smeltzer

theliesthatdefineus

The truth is just that–the truth. It’s fact. Indisputable. With lies we can delude ourselves into believing something that doesn’t really exist. If you tell yourself something enough, it begins to feel like the truth, but that’s just another lie.”

“You can only bury the truth for so long because it always comes back, and she was my truth–the future, the life I forced myself to abandon, but there it was right in front of me. Mine for the taking. And I was finally going to claim it.”

“Everyone is a liar. some lies we tell are bigger, and some smaller. A lie, no matter the size, can tear people apart. Lies define us. And me? I was the biggest liar of them all. I lied to Liam. I lied to everyone around me. I was buried so deep in lies that I was beginning to wonder what was real and what wasn’t.”

That One Moment by Amy Daws

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000040_00009]

“I forgot about the pain. I forgot about the cause. I forgot about everything leading up to this one incredibly profound moment. This one moment that I chose was permanent. In that one moment….I had finally erased my life forever.”

“Hayden Clarke has just entrusted me with the deepest, darkest part of his soul. In that briefest flicker of time ticking away on the watch around his wrist, I do exactly what my soul is screaming in agony for me to do. What my heart is pounding beneath my chest in anticipation for. I kiss him. God do I kiss him.”

“Life is a gamble. You played your cards and lost. Doesn’t make you a loser. Means you need to find a new dealer.”

“When you came back into back into town, it was like my whole world settled. You were always supposed to be a part of my life, but I just wasn’t ready for you then.”

“I inhale her scent and confirm everything that I already knew. This is who I love. This is where I belong. I’ll fight to the death for her. We’ll fight because we’re both hot-tempered. Things will go wrong, and there’s a lot of shit to work through, but Presley is my life.”

Anything but Minor by Kate Stewart

“I’d been thoroughly kissed. The kind of kiss a woman begs her life for. The kind of kiss that keeps the sexual imagination spinning for months, even years.”

“The world could disappear tomorrow and I’d only worry about a fucking tiny list of people. But the thing I would need in order to breathe again would be to see your face.”

“She’d given me everything when she’d decided to love me, and I would give her everything I could in this life. I had no idea how we were going to make it work, but I knew I wouldn’t, for any reason, let her go.”

Swear On This Life by Renee Carlino

swearonthislife

“If you can surrender to the idea that there might be a plan, instead of reducing every magical moment to a coincidence, then love will find you. It found me.”

“Our story is great. Maybe not all the other shit, but the story of us is perfect, Em.”

“We can’t always control our circumstances, who our parents are, where we live, or how much money we make, but in those rare moments we can shape our fate, when we do have the power to make our own happiness, we can’t be too scared to do it.”

“Something that had long been closed off inside me was opening up, and I felt a rush as it filled with her presence, her trust, her understanding. The idea that she could feel something for me. The hope that all would be forgiven. The promise of a new life. A new beginning. A new love.”

Here’s to more amazing books! I can’t wait to see what 2017 will bring!!

Our Top Reads of 2015!!

Our Top Reads of 2015!blur-old-antique-book

Amy~

I’ve read so many amazing books this year, and trying to narrow down my favorites to just 10 has been an extremely difficult task! That being said, here’s what I came up with:
  • Life After Falling by Alyssa Rose Ivy

As a fan of Alyssa Rose Ivy’s, this book totally blew my mind. The writing was smart, the characters fresh and entertaining, and was a total feel good romance!

  • Until I Met You by S.L. Scott

This is probably one of the most unique books that I’ve read all year. Not only was it different than anything I’ve read by S.L. Scott, but it also took me on one unexpected journey!

  • Long Way Down by Krista & Becca Ritchie

It’s the end of an era and as sad as I was to say goodbye to this series, this book gave me the absolute best ending I could imagine!

  • Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley

It’s KA!! Alpha’s, Angst, and Good Romance. Do I need to say more??

  • The Air He Breathes by Brittiany C. Cherry

So, so many feels with this one!

  • Bright Side & Gus by Kim Holden

My top “Ugly Cry” book(s) of the year!

  • A Lover’s Lament by K.L. Grayson & B.T. Urrela

This was an amazing collaboration that not only left me speechless, but stole my breath with it’s beautiful writing. I can’t wait for more from these two.

  • After The Storm by Faith Andrews

This was an emotional and swoon-worthy read. A great second chance romance!

  • Give Me Yesterday by K. Webster & Elle Christensen

Speaking of second chance romances, this was the collaboration that I was waiting for. These two ladies make magic when they write together. This was another “Ugly Cry” for me.

  • Fisher’s Light by Tara Sivec

This book rendered me totally speechless. I can’t even put my feelings into words for this one!

Kristal~

  • The Consolation Duet by Corinne Michaels – Aaaaaall the angsty feels! My heart!
  • The Mason List by S D Hendrickson – An absolutely epic coming-of-age romance.
  • Love Hacked by Penny Reid – This was new to me this year but I’m going to say it is one of my favourite books EVER and not just of the year.
  • Paper Hearts by Claire Contreras – I don’t even have all the words to describe how much I love this book. It is perfection.
  • Corrupt by Penelope Douglas – This was a little out of my comfort zone. I don’t usually like books that are quite so mean and dirty but for whatever reason, I was utterly spellbound from start to finish.
  • Magic Shifts and Magic Stars by Ilona Andrews – Kate Daniels world. Enough said.
  • Art and Soul by Brittainy C Cherry – Brittainy C Cherry can write no wrong. I would read her shopping list. Heavy subject matter but so well written.
  • Interim by S Walden – Very controversial subject matter but a beautifully told story.
  • The Chosen Thief (Forever Evermore Book 4) by Scarlett Dawn – I love this series! Magical prodigy’s! This series has the potential to either become one of my favourites or ruin me for life. I’m scared.
  • The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons  – Charm and I read this together for the first time this year. Such an incredible EPIC story.

Charmaine~

  • Magic Shifts (Kate Daniels #8) by Ilona Andrews

I was introduced to this series by Kristal and I literally cannot get enough of Kate, Curran and their insane world!

  • Truth or Beard (Winston Brothers #1) by Penny Reid

The Winston Brothers series is fast becoming one of my favourites series ever. Second book in and these brothers have me by the heart.

  • Kaleidoscope Hearts (Hearts #1) by Claire Contreras

My absolute favourite random find read this year. This book had EVERYTHING I love to read in a story. Highly recommended!

  • Paper Hearts (Hearts #2) by Claire Contreras

I obviously couldn’t stop at one book in this series… This is a beautiful read. Please read it!

  • The Bronze Horseman (The Bronze Horseman #1) by Paullina Simons

Kristal and I had to buddy read this at the start of the year… As everyone who told us to read said, it really has stuck with me throughout the read. A classic book that should be read by everyone.

  • Ties that Bind (The Veil Series #5) by Pippa DaCosta

The final book in this series… I was absolutely entranced from the first page to the last. Such a fitting end to an awesome all encompassing series.

  • The Consequence of Loving Colton (Consequence #1) by Rachel Van Dyken

This book had me laughing out loud from the start! The first book I’ve read by Rachel Van Dyken and definitely not the last. So entertaining, I would absolutely re-read!

  • The Virgin Romance Novelist by Meghan Quinn

Another book recommended to me by Kristal. This book had me cracking up the WHOLE way through. One of my absolute favourite reads of 2015. Please, please READ THIS BOOK! You won’t regret it!

  • Eighth Grave after Dark (Charley Davidson #8) by Darynda Jones

This series has been going for a while but I just can’t not stay loyal. Charley never loses her wit, charm or ability to get herself into some of the most ridiculous situations I have ever come across. Love.

  • Ninja at First Sight (A KitC Novella) by Penny Reid

What can I say… It’s Penny Reid and she’s ventured back to the Knitting in the City series. This novella is the perfect easy read to keep me satisfied until Happily Ever Ninja is released in January 2016…

Thank you so much for letting us share our top reads of the year with you. It’s been an amazing year for books and we can’t wait to see what good reads 2016 will bring us!

Series Love…. (Charm’s summer reading)

Nope I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth! Although at the moment it does seem like I have a wee bit. No, here in New Zealand we are in the middle of one of the most beautiful summers we’ve had in the last couple of years, so while I have been reading… I’ve also been camping, swimming, fishing and BBQing (not in that exact order!) So in short, it’s been a busy time of sunshine fun!

Home Bay, Motutapu, New Zealand 2015

Home Bay, Motutapu, New Zealand 2015

Anyway, back to reading…We took a little break over the Christmas holidays and in that time I decided to read a series that I’ve been DYING to read forever (recommended by Kristal) AND re-read a series that I’m in looove with… So in case you’re after a new amazing series, here is a little rundown on each of them.

The Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews

Kate Daniels - Magic Bites (Book #1)

Kate Daniels – Magic Bites (Book #1)

Magic Bites (Kate Daniels)

By Ilona Andrews

This urban fantasy series is everything I hoped it would be and SO much more! I have to start by saying, if I could be anyone, ANYONE from a book then I want to be Kate. She is so badass it’s ridiculous. She gets in and gets the job done. No whining, no frivolity, no damsel in distress. She fights till the very end every. single. time.

This world where magic and technology battle is gritty, violent and not at all a kind of fairy-tale magical land. The cold hard reality is people die (often gruesomely) there are endless villains and bad things always happen to good people. I love the authors vision in these books, the world is expertly detailed and you can picture everything in your mind. A magical ward collapses? You see it buckle and shatter. A werewolf changes shape, you see it in your mind, gruesome detail and all. Like I said, the detail is just stunning.

Which brings me to my last point, Curran. Uh, this beast of a man has pretty quickly knocked all other book boyfriends off their comfy pedestals. Seriously. Oh and the chemistry between him and Kate is so entertaining that I would re-read this entire series right now just on that basis! I’m currently up to book 6 and haven’t tired of the story at all, in fact it’s taking a lot of willpower to space out these last two books instead of devouring them in 2 weeks like I did with the first 5! Whether or not you are an Urban Fantasy fan this is definitely a must read.

The Knitting in the City Series by Penny Reid

The KitC Series - Neanderthal Seeks Human (Book #1)

The KitC Series – Neanderthal Seeks Human (Book #1)

Romance series aren’t always for me, I find a lot of the time I read book one and am happy with where the story ends and then voila, there’s a book two and suddenly the characters are going through all kinds of unneeded angst… This is where Penny Reid is oh so different and is also why she is one of my very favourite authors. In the Knitting in the City series each book is focussed on a different woman from a knitting circle they all belong to. So not only do we get a book dedicated to each one of them, but we also get to see their story get little mentions and begin to develop or carry on and flesh out throughout the stories of the other women too. It’s the BEST. THE BEST.

Another reason why I think I love this series so much is that these women (and their leading men) are all different and a little quirky. We’re not talking run of the mill romance… No we are talking about complete originality. Each character definitely has their own voice and their own original story. Now, the thing with this is, every time you read another book from the series you change your mind about who is your favourite character! I swear even after re-reading this series, after each book I was like ‘oh this couple is TOTALLY my fav’… until the next book where I’d be busy deciding that no, this couple is actually my fav!

His everyday voice was a thing of beauty, but his growly voice made me want to lick his face

— Sandra – Love Hacked (KitC Book #3)

I still have trouble picking my favourite book out of the five that have been published so far (potentially BatM)… I love that while they do have an order, you can read them as a standalone (excluding Neanderthal Marries Human) although I guarantee once you read one you’re going to want to read them all! Penny Reid has definitely taken this genre and made it her own with her unique and fun take on everything romance related. The women are freaking awesome, the men are freaking hot and the stories will have you laughing, crying and swooning (sometimes all at the same time). I kid you not.

Holiday Time Reading list!!! (AKA an eccentric collection of reading material)

So off on holiday I go and of course a priority is to make sure my Kindle is fully stocked with a selection of reading material. (Lets just ignore the fact I have an outrageous TBR pile at the moment) Holiday time calls for new books!!! So here’s a list of my intended reads…

1. ARC of Scenes From The City (A selection of Knitting in the City short stories) by Penny Reid

aka… the Festivus Surprise
100% of proceeds go to Toys for Tots.
This book cannot be read as a standalone. It is a collection of short scenes following the ladies from the ‘Knitting in the City’ series and will only be available in eBook format from December 1 – December 15, 2014.
‘Neanderthal Seeks Honeymoon’ – Janie and Quinn
‘Friends Definitely With Benefits’ – Elizabeth and Nico
‘Hacking the Hacker’ – Sandra and Alex
‘Beauty and the Beard’ – Ashley and Drew
‘Ninja at First Sight’ – Fiona and Greg

2. Magic Bites (Kate Daniels #1) by Ilona Andrews

Kate Daniels is a down-on-her-luck mercenary who makes her living cleaning up paranormal problems. Atlanta has two factions struggling for power. Masters of the Dead are necromancers who control vampires. The Pack are a paramilitary clan of shapechangers. When Kate’s guardian is killed, she is caught between.

Magic Bites (Kate Daniels)

By Ilona Andrews

3. Seventh Grave and no Body by (Charley Davidson #7)  Darynda Jones

Twelve. Twelve of the deadliest beasts ever forged in the fires of hell have escaped onto our plane, and they want nothing more than to rip out the jugular of Charley Davidson and serve her lifeless, mangled body to Satan for dinner. So there’s that. But Charley has more on her plate than a mob of testy hellhounds. For one thing, her father has disappeared, and the more she retraces his last steps, the more she learns he was conducting an investigation of his own, one that has Charley questioning everything she’s ever known about him. Add to that an ex-BFF who is haunting her night and day, a rash of suicides that has authorities baffled, and a drop-dead sexy fiancé who has attracted the attentions of a local celebrity, and Charley is not having the best week of her life.

A tad north of hell, a hop, skip, and a jump past the realm of eternity, is a little place called Earth, and Charley Davidson, grim reaper extraordinaire, is determined to do everything in her power to protect it.

We’re doomed.

The Book Slump

One of the most dreaded things to happen to bloggers and book lovers alike. That moment when you have a ton of books on your kindle and nothing sounds good. When you try to get into a book and you just can’t……..We’ve all been there. So the question is: How do you get over your book slump? Do you have a go-to author or book that helps pull you out of your funk???

Amy– Here’s some of my tips for getting over the dreaded book slump:

  • Change genres when reading. When possible, I like to try to switch up my reading genres. That way I’m not reading the same style. We all have those times were we are really into a particular genre, but after a while, the stories can start to sound the same, blend. So, if you’re really into Contemporary Romance, maybe give Paranormal a try 🙂 You may discover a new genre to love!
  • Go-to-books: These books I can read many, many times and love them just as much as the first time. Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire, The Resistance by S.L. Scott, The Hush, Hush Saga by Becca Fitzpatrick, The Fate Series by Heather Lyons
  • Go-to-authors: I have a tendency to hoard books by these authors and save them for the inevitable book slump: Heather Lyons, A.L. Jackson, Abbi Glines, Colleen Hoover, Samantha Towle, Jennifer Armentrout

Kristal – These are my tricks for dragging myself out of the hideous book funk:

  • Change things up. Often when you are reading one particular genre a lot things can start to feel same-same. So, like Amy, I switch genres completely and go for something different. Another thing I like to do is try a book that I would usually never read. Pretty Words Book Blog is a go-to website for me to find book ideas that are a little different from what I usually read.
  • Take a break! If I’m really stuck and nothing is holding my attention I usually take the opportunity to have a little ‘book break’. I catch up on my shows (Once Upon a Time or Outlander) or watch a movie that I love.
  • Blog. When all else fails I can take a break from reading and catch up on my reviews. Often writing about a book and thinking about books puts me right back in the book mood again!

Charmaine – How I attack a case of the irritating ‘book funk’

  • Read with friends! If I’m stuck in a book funk more often than not I find the best cure is to buddy read something (more often than not I just attach myself to a book Kristal is reading, she has GREAT taste) I always have a blast reading and discussing with someone and usually by the time we’ve finished the book and the discussion I’m feeling back on track.
  • Spend way too much time browsing. I can waste way too long browsing though GR or Amazon… Sometimes you just don’t know what you’re looking for until you find it… If that makes any sense!
  • Actually do real life. Sometimes there’s just nothing for fixing a book funk except for ignoring it. I find by the time I decide to clean all of my windows, or help my kids plant endless sunflower seeds that I’m more than ready to get back into reading with a vengeance!

We hope these tips can help you the next time you find yourself in the dreaded book slump!

The TBR (To Be Read) Tag – Tagged by our very own Amy!!!

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

K- Uh…I don’t. I have three TBRs. One on my phone, one on my Kindle (books I have already purchased) and our Goodreads one. I like to think of it as ‘controlled chaos’.

C- Simple answer is I don’t! Actually I have more than one TBR pile so really I have no chance of keeping track of anything. We of course have a OUaBB Goodreads one, which is my main go-to. But I also have a Kindle one and I even have a TBR pile in the notes on my phone! Ahem…

Is your TBR mostly E-book or print?

K- It’s nearly 100% e-book! So easy.

C- E-Book all the way!

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

K- I’m a mood reader so I can’t really plan ahead. Often i’ll end up going for a completely random book that’s not even on my TBR.

C- Well… It’s kind of like organized chaos. Usually I just pick one on a ‘whim’ or a ‘feeling’ depending on what genre I’m in the mood for. Otherwise I’ll pick one due to peer pressure…. Or I just bypass my TBR completely and buy something completely random!

A book that’s been on your TBR the longest?

K- Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid, #1) by Richelle Mead. I have picked this up a couple of times but I just can’t seem to get past the first chapter.

C- Burned (Fever Series #7) by Karen Marie Moning. I loved the first 5 books in this series. The sixth was iffy for me and this seventh book has had it’s publication date pushed back a few times… So it’s been on my TBR for a very long time and I’m not completely sure that I’ll actually read it

A book that you’ve recently added to your TBR?

K- After (The After Series, #1) by Anna Todd. I have heard great things about this book so I’m considering it even though I usually avoid romance series.

C- Truth or Beard (The Winston Brothers series #1) by Penny Reid. I love all things Penny Reid and have just finished reading a short story which is actually the beginning of this book… It’s not out till next year but already I can’t wait!

A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?

K- I don’t really have any?!  A lot of them have great covers but there’s nothing on there that I picked just because of the cover. The Collectors’ Society by Heather Lyons has a beautiful cover but the story also sounds amazing.

C- Hmmm…. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. This cover captured me from the first time I saw it in a book store!

A book on your TBR that you never plan on really reading?

K- The entire Outlander series. I LOVE the TV show but because of my love for the tv show and the length of the books I will probably (definitely) never read the books. Also, we cheated and read ahead to find out what happens so I don’t have the burning need to ‘know’ what’s coming up.

C- I’m the same here… The Outlander series. I loved the idea of reading this series and a while back we were considering buddy reading the first book, but I think for me, this is going to be a TV only format.

An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for?

K- The Road by Jay McLean. More Than Forever was my favourite book this year so I’m excited for anything Jay McLean writes.

C- Too many!!! But we are big Nicole Peeler fans and her new book Jinn & Juice is out next year. Beyond excited for this one!

A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read except you?

K- The Bronze Horseman. Why have I STILL not read this book?! I’m just not ready for the emotional commitment I think.

C- Ahem.. The Bronze Horseman. Everyone keeps telling me to read this book and I want to read it…

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?

K- The Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Everyone loves that series.

C- The Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. Kristal keeps telling me I need to read this. It IS going to happen!

A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read?

K- The Collectors’ Society by Heather Lyons (Ooh this book gets two mentions!). Amy read it and loved it so I can’t wait to read this. It’s next up on my list actually! Excited.

C- In the Land of the Long White Cloud by Sarah Lark. I love a good historical read and I’m intrigued by this series which focuses on colonial 19th century New Zealand.

The number of books on your Goodreads TBR shelf?

K- Only 176 🙂 We’re doing really well!

C- We aren’t outrageous at all with only 176!

The TBR Tag

I was tagged by my good friend, Jessica from Lovin’ Los Libros to complete The TBR Tag, so here goes nothing!

How Do You Keep Track Of Your TBR Pile?

This is a great question. I keep track of my TBR by using google calendar and Goodreads. Google Calendar helps me keep track of when all my review books are due. On Goodreads, I add books to my TBR based on genre, if they are out yet, and review books.

Is Your TBR Mostly E-book or Print?

E-books are the best way for me. I have a ridiculous amount of E-books, but I’d say I probably have about 40 hardback books that are on my TBR right now.

How Do You Determine Which Book From Your TBR to Read Next?

I look at my calendar and see if I have any review books due, and those I usually read first. Then I have my books organized on my kindle by what I’ve been dying to read first!

A Book That’s Been On Your TBR The Longest?

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

I know, I know! This has been out forever. I’ve seen all the movies and read all the books up until this. I don’t know if it’s the length that has stopped me from finishing, but I am determined to finish this series!

A Book That You’ve Recently Added To Your TBR?

Pull by Claire Wallis

I literally just added this one yesterday! I can’t wait for this one to come out!

A Book On Your TBR Strictly Because Of Its Beautiful Cover?

The Space Between by Kristie Coo

I have been intrigued by this one ever since I came across the cover. I’m looking forward to reading this one. It’s on the top end of my TBR list!

A Book On Your TBR That You Never Plan On Really Reading?

The Seeker by Stephenie Meyer

Ok, I don’t want to say that I’ll never read this one, but it has been on my TBR forever and it doesn’t help that it hasn’t even been written yet. It has been such a long time since The Host came out. I will just have to wait and see what happens…..

An Unpublished Book On Your TBR That You’re Excited For?

Make It Real by Sabrina Elkins

Ok, so Jessica and I have this one in common. I have been a fan of Sabrina Elkins since Stir Me Up came out and I have been anxiously awaiting for this release!

A Book On Your TBR That Basically Everyone Has Read Except You?

Take Me On by Katie McGarr

This book has been sitting on my book shelf just staring at me, wondering why I haven’t read it yet.

A Book On Your TBR That Everyone Recommends To You?

The Hook UP by Kristen Calliha

This book has actually been recommended a lot to me lately. It also happens to be a monthly read for one of my Goodreads book clubs, so this actually worked out nicely!

A Book On Your TBR That You’re Dying To Read?

Mr Beautiful by R.K. Lilley

I am a big, huge fan of the Up In The Air Series and have been anxiously awaiting this release! Thank goodness the wait is almost over! It releases next week!!

The Number of Books On Your Goodreads TBR Shelf?

Are you sure you want to know the answer to this?? It’s pretty scary………………….Here it goes………………….I have 1050 books on my Goodreads TBR! That’s right you heard me and it grows everyday 🙂
