Review: Fool For You by Kelly Elliott

It was only supposed to be for a few months, so where was the harm in going along with it? That is, until the fake engagement Landon and I came up with after a misunderstanding threw us both into the spotlight, and threatened to destroy the lives we had both worked so hard for.

Somewhere along the way, though, we realized everything had changed. So, we made a vow to one another when we crossed the line from being best friends to lovers, that neither one of us would get hurt.

But that’s the thing about promises made, they are often broken, and the fallout can be catastrophic.

So, when the real world comes crashing down into the fake world we’d created, neither of us knew who would break our vow first, and more importantly, which one of us would survive the betrayal.

My Review

Fool for You is the 7th Book in the Southern Bride Series and is the perfect friends to lovers, fake relationship romance. If those tropes are your jam, then you are going to fall head over heels for Emerson and Landon’s story!

Fool for You follows the story of besties Emerson and Landon. Emerson and Landon have known one another their entire lives and from the moment you meet these two, you can tell right away that they are meant to be more. Both Emerson and Landon harbor some not so platonic feelings for each other, but are afraid to risk their friendship. Who knew that a simple night out a charity function, would turn their worlds upside down and force their feelings to come to head?

Fool for You is a fantastic read from beginning to end. I loved the friendship between Emerson and Landon. You could feel the tension and pull between them. Their struggle with acting on their feelings felt real and genuine. I appreciated how Landon jumped in to save Emerson when her lie spiraled out of control and in turn forced them both to admit their true feelings. From there, their relationship took off at a fast pace. Emerson and Landon just went with the flow of things and worked through each hurdle that came at them. I loved the trust and faith that Emerson and Landon had in each other, so when life threw them unexpected punches, they didn’t overreact, they stood by their faith and trust.

Fool for You is funny when it needs to be, sweet, and 100% swoon-worthy. This story is filled with friendship, love, and well meaning families. Sure Emerson and Landon went about things in a totally backward fashion, but somehow it just made sense and was totally right for these characters.

I had a wonderful time getting swept up in this story and these characters.
