Olivia Brent has one summer to save the dairy farm she just inherited.

But there’s one problem, and it’s not her lactose intolerance.

Jake Milovic.

The brooding farmhand has inherited exactly fifty percent of Brent Farm, and he’s so convinced the city girl can’t work the land, he bets she can’t save it in a summer.

Determined to prove him wrong, Olivia accepts what might be the dumbest wager of her life.

His strategy to win seems simple: follow her around, shirtlessly distracting her between bouts of relentless taunting. And it’s effective—if his dark eyes and rare smiles aren’t enough to sidetrack her, the sweaty, rolling topography of the manbeast’s body would do the trick.

What they don’t know: they’ll have to weather more than each other.

Mysterious circumstances throw the farm into disarray, and with the dairy farm in danger, Olivia and Jake have to work together. But when they do, there’s more to fear than either of them imagined.

Because now their hearts are on the line, and the farm won’t be the only casualty if they fail.

MY REVIEW

“If Frank taught me one thing, it was that there was always hope. In the darkest night, at the lowest low, there is always hope.”

“Mine. The word was a rush of thunder, a roar in my ribs, the knowledge pure. I couldn’t fathom how I hadn’t known. How I missed something so plain, so clear.”

Bet The Farm was one of my most anticipated reads of 2021 and Staci Hart does not disappoint. Bet The Farm is the kind of enemies to lovers romance I can’t help but swoon over. With exciting banter and explosive chemistry, Jack and Olivia’s story hits all the marks and will keep you begging for more.

Bet The Farm is a small town, second chance romance with an enemies to lovers flair. The main characters are Jack and Olivia, two characters that will have you sucked into their story instantly and dying to know what will happen next. When we first meet up with Olivia, she’s returned to the only place that’s ever been home. She’s just inherited her pop’s farm but is hit with an unexpected twist. Jack is the brooding farmhand, has to split the farm 50/50 with Olivia. The last thing he wants is some city girl blowing into town changing things. He doesn’t think she can hack it and she is desperate to prove him wrong. Before either one realizes it, there will be more at stake than just the farm….

Bet The Farm was everything I was looking for and then some. I love, love, love small-town romances and when you add in the enemies to lovers element, I know I’ve got a great read on my hands. Staci Hart did a fabulous job making these characters not only feel realistic but easy to relate to and envision. The sparks and chemistry between Jack and Olivia were instant and consuming. I loved watching the two of them banter and Olivia’s determination to prove Jack wrong. The antics between the two of them led to some pretty hilarious moments and left me dying for more. These two characters also shared some pretty great will they/won’t they moments. You could just feel the tension radiating off them.

Now, the road to happily ever after wasn’t all sunshine and roses for these two. Staci Hart definitely threw some obstacles their way and added a little mystery to their already complicated story. There were some moments where I definitely wanted to shake Jack and yell at him to stop before he put his foot in his mouth further. Despite all the challenges and frustrating moments Jack and Olivia faced, I couldn’t help but root for them to find their way to one another and get the happily ever after they deserved.

If you’re a fan of stubborn females and grumpy heroes, you can’t go wrong with Bet The Farm. This story is a small-town romance with some wonderfully humorous and entertaining moments. Staci Hart has written a fabulous story in her signature style that will make readers laugh, smile, and swoon. Bet The Farm is written with a lot of heart and is sure to leave readers with a huge smile on their faces.

I had a fabulous time getting swept up in this story and can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us readers next!

*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

  1. I enjoyed reading your review. It was nice to see a different perspective. I liked Olivia to an extent and the story was a fairly straight-forward small town romance, which I liked, but I couldn’t really stand Jake. He was always mad at Olivia for one thing or another. I thought the book was good but I wasn’t a fan of them together.
