“Kristen Ashley captivates.” Publisher’s Weekly

Still Standing, an all-new emotional and fiery MC romance from New York Times bestselling author Kristen Ashley, is available now!

When Clara Delany walks into the Aces High Motorcycle Club’s hangout, she’s hit rock bottom. She’s hiding her car from the repo man, she has less than two dollars in her bank account and the only employment she can get is delivering messages for a criminal.

All because of a man. Therefore, she’s sworn off them.

And then she meets West “Buck” Hardy, president of the Aces High MC.

Buck also meets her, and the minute he does, he makes it clear (to everyone but Clara) that they’re starting something. Since Clara doesn’t get that message, she decides to leave Buck and sort out her life in order to come back to him clean.

She’s not gone but hours before life hits Clara with another blow. Which means Buck and his boys have to ride in and save the day. After that, Buck makes no bones about where they stand.

But does he?

Welcome to the first novel in the Wild West MC series which will tell the stories of the brothers of the Aces High MC, the Resurrection MC, and the Chaos MC…and the women who love them.

MY REVIEW

“You stake a claim, you stake it because you want what you’re claimin’. Then you keep hold, no matter what you gotta do to keep it. I claimed you and I’m keeping hold.”

“We can’t do anything about those pages that were already written, baby. But we’re past those. Now we’re writing it new. You with me?”

4.5, You With Me, Stars!

Still Standing is the exciting first book in the Wild West MC Series from Kristen Ashely and it follows the story of Buck and Clara. Clara’s life has been anything but wonderful and when she thought she finally had something good, her world got turned upside down. Her current situation is anything but a dream and she finds herself living in the bad part of town, delivering messages for the wrong kind of man. And that’s how she finds herself tanged up Buck. You see, Clara is supposed to deliver a message to Buck, but once these two meet, all bets are off and Buck isn’t about to let Clara walk out of his life….

Still Standing was a thrilling and exciting read. I was hooked on Clara and Buck from their first interaction and couldn’t help but just devour this book. I loved Clara’s innocence, yet how brave she could be when she needed to. She was a terrific friend and had a big heart. Sure she didn’t always make the best decisions, but she’d give you the shirt off her back if she could. And then you’ve got Buck. Buck is the rough, tough president of the Aces High MC. His family and his brothers mean everything to him. He’s rough around the edges and doesn’t play games. He’s got a unique sweetness to him and isn’t the kind of man to give up easily. Buck and Clara are about as opposite as they could possibly be but are the couple you can’t help but find yourself rooting for.

Still Standing was a lot of fun to read and get swept up in. It definitely was rocking some serious Motorcycle Man vibes. From the awesome crew that was the Aces High MC, to badass biker babe makeovers and all kinds of drama, this book hit all the marks I was looking for in a KA novel. Yes, there were some frustrating moments and communication issues, but they always found a way to work past it and fight for what they wanted.

Still Standing kicks off the Wild West Series to one heck of a start. I’m already addicted to the players in this series and can not wait for more.

Excerpt

“Babe,” he growled.

A warning.

Definitely.

I’d gone too far.

I also didn’t care.

“Okay, so then does Tia have to sleep with one, or, say, all of your boys?”

“Don’t do that shit. You know that’s not what I’m talkin’ about.”

“So maybe you’ll explain what you’re talking about.”

“I would, you shut your trap.”

I shut my trap and stared at his shadowed head.

He stared at mine.

Then he muttered, “Christ, need my head examined.”

“You could get off me,” I reminded him.

“Is this shuttin’ your trap?”

I shut my trap again.

“You take of care my house and my business as well as me.”

“What does that mean?”

“That means you move outta the apartment before they kick your ass out. You move into my house. You keep it clean. You keep me fed, that is, when I’m not feedin’ you, and I like to cook, so mostly, I’ll be feedin’ you. You come to work with me and take care of the office, and you go home with me.”

Wow.

Was he serious?

That sounded like…it sounded like…

My God, it didn’t sound like a sex-for-safety arrangement.

It sounded like a relationship.
