Asher rolled his eyes. Actually rolled them, like one minute his pupils were directed on me, and then they were on the inky sky. “I’d hardly call you poor or unsuspecting, Celeste.”
I smiled.
Once his eyeballs leveled back on my face, the archangel’s expression transformed into a softer one that made him seem amicable. But that look was all smoke and mirrors.
