About Love the One You Hate (OUT NOW!)
Nicholas Hunt is the man I hate.
For good reason.
His opinion of me is tainted by prejudice even before my arrival at his grandmother’s estate, and my first impression of him is just as abysmal.
His arrogance and icy demeanor make it clear that he’s the type of man who’s best handled at a distance.
Fortunately, space shouldn’t be an issue inside this Gilded Age mansion and its lush gardens. If I stick with the servants and he keeps to his sailboat and vintage Porsche, we should hardly cross paths at all. Unfortunately, at Rosethorn, I find that all roads eventually lead to Nicholas Hunt.
Sparks fly as we spar at the dinner table. Fighting words are flung in the shadows of the palatial halls.
We hang suspended in our hatred of one another, painfully oblivious to the heat and tension that build with every moment we’re left alone. We’re liable to kill one another, I think…right up until my eyes land on his lips and a new feeling grips hold of me: lust.
He knows it.
They say you should keep your enemies close, but when Nicholas tightens his grip on my waist and draws me near, I’m not sure if it’s out of loathing or love.
One thing’s for sure—I intend to find out.
“Touching Maren feels like that, like I’m defiling an angel, kissing my way straight to hell.”
R.S. Grey has done it again!! I fell totally, completely, absolutely head over heels for Nicholas and Maren. Love the One You Hate is definitely a favorite read of mine for 2020!
Love the One You Hate follows the story of Maren and Nicholas. When we first meet up with Maren, she is down on her luck. She’s working a thankless job where she has been accused of things due to her past. Maren’s life has been anything but easy, but she doesn’t let her past get her down and does the best that she can. Maren’s luck begins to change when she meets Cornelia. Cornelia has a proposition for Maren that seems too good to be true, but Maren would be stupid to turn down. As Maren spends time with Cornelia, she not only finds happiness, but discovers things about herself that she never expected. All is going well, until Cornelia’s grandson comes into the picture. Nicholas is arrogant and rude. He thinks he’s got Maren all figured out, but he couldn’t be further from the truth. The tension between Nicholas & Maren is sky high as sparks fly with every encounter and Nicholas & Maren will leave you hanging on every word, waiting to see what would happen next…..
Love the One You Hate is the kind of book that once you start, you won’t be able to put it down. Maren is such a likable character. Her character grows and blossoms so much. I loved seeing her transform and figure out what she wants out of this thing called life. And then we have Nicholas. In the beginning, he was rude and standoffish. He gave Mr. Darcy a run for his money. Yes, he had his reasons for the way he was. He wanted what was best for Cornelia and was afraid of people taking advantage of her. And let’s just say he made this story definitely rock a Pride and Prejudice vibe. Together these two had a lot of tension and brilliant chemistry. I loved the slow burning romance romance between them and the push & pull left me begging for more. I honestly couldn’t get enough of their story and couldn’t wait to see how things would play out.
Love the One You Hate is a fantastic read from beginning to end. Nicholas & Maren will have you falling head of heels in love with their story. Cornelia is a force to be reckoned with and is hands down, one of my favorite secondary characters. She’s real, honest and is the kind of woman that everyone needs in their lives. Love the One You Hate is a story of romance, angst and self discovery. And I loved every single second of it…..
