Dr. Russell has a bad reputation around our hospital. The scrub techs say he’s cold-blooded, the nurses say he’s too cocky for his own good, and the residents say he’s the best surgeon in the world—really, just a swell guy!—on the off chance he’s within earshot.

I try to avoid him and his temper at all costs. It’s just as easy to admire his sexy, grip-it-while-he’s-ravishing-you hair and chiseled jaw from a healthy distance, preferably from the other end of the hallway…half-hidden behind a plant.

Unfortunately, my plan crumbles when my trusty ol’ boss decides to swap his white coat for a Hawaiian shirt. His retirement leaves me with two terrible options: switch specialties and spend months retraining, or take an open position as Dr. Russell’s surgical assistant.

That means I have to stand near him in the OR for hours on end and anticipate his every need without letting his biting words and bad attitude intimidate me. Oh, and as if that’s not difficult enough, my silly crush on him—the one I’ve tried to stomp on until it disappears—might just be reciprocated.

It’s fine.

I’m fine.

I take my job seriously. There will be no smoldering bedroom eyes across the operating table, no angry almost-kisses in the storage closet. (Well, no more of those.)

What’s the phrase? An apple a day keeps the doctor away?

Maybe I should go for a whole damn bushel.

“His eyes are locked with mine and there are a thousand words passing between us: longing, need, desire, want, jealousy, rage, and finally….impatience.”

“I’m shaking as if he has me on the edge of a cliff. One single finger could push me over. I’d tumble down, and right now, there’s no way to know what awaits me at the bottom. Pain, love, heartache,  elation-each as likely as the last and I cant willingly do this to this to myself. I cant give myself over to a man who has the power to upend my life so easily. ”

“We kiss until my lips are sore, until I have to break away and grasp for breath, until i feel lightheaded and dizzy with need. If i had a bottle of water within reach, I’d dump it on my head. Everywhere he touches, it feels like he’s dragging a flame across my skin. It swears. It ignites. It turns me on to the point of close-tearing, nail-dragging, teeth-biting insanity.”

Hotshot Doc is a fun and entertaining read. It’s flawless writing will have you hanging on every word and begging for more.

From the moment I started reading Hotshot Doc, I was absolutely hooked. I fell in love with the characters and couldn’t wait to see how their story would play out. Bailey is the kind of woman you want in your corner. She’s smart, great at her job, devoted and someone you can count on. She’s given up a lot in life and found herself to be the guardian of her little sister at a young age. She’s doing the best that she can, but that devotion doesn’t leave much time for a social life. However, fate has other plans. When the Doctor Bailey works for suddenly retires, she finds herself forced to work with the hospital’s most feared doctor…Matt is feared by everyone he crosses paths with and has been known to make his surgical assistants cry. When his latest assistant quits, he’s on the fence about bringing on someone new, but can’t resist giving Bailey a shot. And let me tell you, Bailey is a forced to be reckoned with. She isn’t just going to stand there and tolerate Matt’s intense, brooding behavior. She challenges him at every turn and the breath of fresh air he never knew he was looking for. The tension between Matt & Bailey is off the charts. They should hate each other and stay away, but the fire between these two might just prove to be too hard to extinguish……

Hotshot Doc was such a fun read. I loved the setting and the story-line. I got a kick out of all the Grey’s Anatomy references and fell head over heels for the characters. I adored Bailey and respected how hard she worked and how devoted she was to her little sister Josie. Their relationship was so sweet. You could tell that these two looked out for each other’s best interests and they were more like best friends than sisters.

I had a lot of fun getting to know Matt & Bailey. I loved their pull and how much they challenged each other. Their chemistry was amazing and kept me dying for more. Matt & Bailey’s story is the kind that you want to just read in one sitting and that you won’t want to put down until you reach the end. It’s filled with lots of laughs, scorching chemistry, a lot of will they/won’t they moments and some delicious sexy good times. I really enjoyed how well Matt & Bailey just worked together and had a lot of fun seeing their story unravel.

I fell head over heels for Hotshot Doc from the very first page. It was everything I was looking for in a romantic comedy. With light drama and little angst, Hotshot Doc is a straight up love story that will give you all the feels and leave you with a huge smile on your face. I really enjoyed spending my day getting lost in these characters.

*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
