Seeking Fate (The Fated #3) by Brenda Drake
Publication Date: September 3, 2018
Publisher: Entangled Teen Crave
Fate changer Daisy Layne is nervous about searching Europe for a firstborn son doomed to die on his eighteenth birthday. But she’s the only one who can save him. No pressure or anything. She needs the help of guide Andrei Vasile, who she’s been talking to online for two years. Still, meeting him in person…that’s a whole different story.
Andrei is determined to keep Daisy safe, even if touching her could kill him. At least, that’s what his family has told him about fate changers like Daisy. She’s strong and beautiful, and it’s his job to keep her alive. Unfortunately, what she doesn’t know could kill her.
Save a life. End a curse. And never, ever get too close…

Road to Publication
The road to publication is different for everyone. Some is a short journey, and for others, it’s a long one. Mine was the latter. I’ve always loved writing since I was a young girl but put it aside when I enterd the working world and became a mother. It wasn’t until my life settled down more before I picked up writing again. It took me three years to draft and polish my first manuscript. I queried it to agents and received only rejections. Not a single request for more pages. Over the next few years, I wrote other books, and either didn’t finish them or hated them when I did finish them. I was frozen from the rejections I’d received. My passion was gone.
It wasn’t until I was in a bookstore one day and I came across a coffee table book filled with photographs of the world’s most beautiful libraries that writing spark hit me again. I wondered what it would be like to jump into each page and visit such amazing libraries. Then I could imagine a battle between modern knights against mystical creatures within them. I was inspired. I bought the book and rushed home.
From that idea, I wrote the Library Jumpers series. When I finished, I queried it. I was finally getting requests for more pages, and even full manuscript reads. But no offer of representation came. I was about to give up when one finally arrived. The book went through a rocky path on its way to publication until it landed in the hands of Liz Pelletier at Entangled Publishing. She loved it and offered on it, and the rest is history, as they say.
Except, she also accepted my proposal for the Fated series. And with the release of the final book in the series, SEEKING FATE, I know have two completed series. What I’ve learned from my publishing journey is that perserverance is vital. Never give up, because you never know when your dream is just around the corner.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Brenda Drake grew up the youngest of three children, an Air Force brat, and the continual new kid at school. Her fondest memories growing up is of her eccentric, Irish grandmother’s animated tales, which gave her a strong love for storytelling. With kids of all ages populating Brenda’s world, it was only fitting that she would choose to write stories with a bend toward the fantastical for both younger readers and the young at heart. And because she married her prince charming, there’s always a romance warming the pages. Her favorite books are The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis, Kings Row by Henry Bellamann, and Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. When she’s not writing, she hosts workshops and contests for writers such as Pitch Wars and Pitch Madness on her blog, and holds Twitter pitch parties on the hashtag, #PitMad. In her free time, Brenda enjoys hanging out with her family, haunting libraries, bookstores, and coffee shops, or just reading someplace quiet and not at all exotic (much to her disappointment).
