Review: The Prince (A Wicked Trilogy 3.5) by Jennifer Armentrout

Posted on

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes a new story in her Wicked series…

She’s everything he wants….

Cold. Heartless. Deadly. Whispers of his name alone bring fear to fae and mortals alike. The Prince. There is nothing in the mortal world more dangerous than him. Haunted by a past he couldn’t control, all Caden desires is revenge against those who’d wronged him, trapping him in never-ending nightmare. And there is one person he knows can help him.

She’s everything he can’t have…

Raised within the Order, Brighton Jussier knows just how dangerous the Prince is, reformed or not. She’d seen firsthand what atrocities he could be capable of. The last thing she wants to do is help him, but he leaves her little choice. Forced to work alongside him, she begins to see the man under the bitter ice. Yearning for him feels like the definition of insanity, but there’s no denying the heat in his touch and the wicked promise is his stare.

She’s everything he’ll take….

But there’s someone out there who wants to return the Prince to his former self. A walking, breathing nightmare that is hell bent on destroying the world and everyone close to him. The last thing either of them needs is a distraction, but with the attraction growing between them each now, the one thing he wants more than anything may be the one thing that will be his undoing.

She’s everything he’d die for….

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

My Review

“Being consumed with vengeance was something I never thought I’d experience, but I was knee-deep in it and I wasn’t coming out anytime soon.”

“You’re not a ghost. You never could be one, not when you burn as brilliant as the sun.”

“I saw you smile once and it was like the sun finally rising.”

Man, oh man, was it good to be back in the Wicked World again! It honestly felt like no time had passed at all. I was immediately brought back to the magical world that Jennifer Armentrout has created and couldn’t wait to see what this novella had in store for us.

The Prince is fast paced and takes you on one thrilling ride. This story might be a novella, but it certainly packs a punch. It hooks you from the very beginning and you won’t be able to put it down. You’ll find yourself devouring each and every word…

The Prince picks up shortly where Brave left off. With the Queen out of the picture, everyone is just trying to move on. But, of course, moving on and having a happy ending is easier said than done. Tragedy strikes Brighton and turns her world totally upside down. She should be dead, but somehow she is not. Now, two years later, Brighton is out for blood and has a thirst for vengeance. Her plan isn’t perfect, but she’s determined to make things right. All is going well until the Prince enters the picture. He’s got plans for his own vengeance and tries to deter Brighton. That proves harder to do than the Prince anticipated. He’s haunted by his past and fighting the intense pull to Brighton. Will Brighton and the Prince get the vengeance they both desperately seek? Can the Prince walk away from what he feels for Brighton? There’s only one way to find out….

The Prince took me on one wild and crazy ride. I loved the danger and suspense of the story. I was 100% hooked and couldn’t wait to see how Brighton and the Prince’s story would play out. From action to suspense to excellent sexual tension and a really crazy twist, this book leaves no stone unturned. The Prince left me breathless, on my toes and that ending just left me begging for more. The Prince is a fabulous addition to Wicked Trilogy and I for one can not wait to find out what will happen next.
