Marble isn’t the only thing that’s hard at this museum.
His body is as chiseled as Adonis. His lips are as sculpted as David. And his ego is the size of the Guggenheim.
You know the type—wolfish smile and the gravity of a black hole. The kind of man who sucks all the air from the room the second he enters it. My cocky boss thinks this internship was wasted on me, and he doesn’t hesitate to let me know.
But he’s wrong, and I’m going to prove it to him. If I can stay away from his devil lips, that is. Lips that cut me down and kiss me in the same breath, leaving me certain he’s on a mission to ruin my life.
And maybe my heart, too.

“I stared at the door, wondering what had happened, what I had gotten myself into, and how the hell the man who had become such a confounding fixture in my life had cut me down and kissed me in the same breath. How he’d touch me like he owned me and discarded me with a flick of his wrist.”
“Court Lyons made about as much sense to me as a scrambled up Rubik’s Cube.”
“That the funny thing about hearts. What they wanted and what would hurt them were sometimes the same. And in the battle of head over heart, I always sided with my head.”
“I loved her unfailingly and without question. I loved her with a depth that I couldn’t test and fierceness I couldn’t contain. And the truth of that love brought me to my knees, wondering how I could have been so blind. How I could have been so wrong. I loved her for so many reasons. I’d ruined her in so many ways. And I would do anything, give anything, to make it right. I only had to figure out how.”
Man, oh man, was this story worth the wait! Piece of Work has taken my emotions on such a wild ride. I am a mess in the best possible way. I mean my face hurts from smiling so much. This story was everything I wanted and never knew I needed. It was beautiful. It was frustrating. It made me crazy. And it made my heart so happy. Piece of Work is everything romance should be.
Piece of Work is told from dual points of view and is a stand-alone novel. Piece of Work follows the story of Court and Rin. When we first meet Rin, she is happy to blend in and fade into the background. She is smart, intelligent and has a real passion for art. So, when she starts her new internship, she couldn’t be more excited to put her passion to use. That is until she meets her boss. Court is all that and a bag of chips. He’s hot. He’s sexy. He’s broodish and quite intimidating. He is totally out of her league and is about to give one heck of a run for her money…..
Piece of Work is the kind of book that just grabs you from the very beginning. The smart writing and intriguing plot just grab hold of you and keep you begging for more. Then you add in these amazing characters that are real and just so much fun and you got yourself a story that can’t be put down.
Piece of Work is brilliantly written and is filled with so much heart. It’s fun and entertaining and of course sexy. There are moments that just make you laugh and others that make you want to rip your hair out. Moments that will have you swooning and others that leave you with tears in your eyes. Piece of Work will take your emotions on a thrilling, yet exciting roller-coaster ride.
There is so much to love and adore about this book. I for one, loved getting lost in Court and Rin. Their story showed so much growth, determination and love. I loved the pull and fight between Court and Rin. They showed me that anything worth having is worth fighting for despite how many times I wanted to reach through my kindle and slap Court. In the end, no one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. It’s about how you learn and grow from them that matters.
Piece of Work was a fabulous read from beginning to end. I love getting swept away in the words and stories that Staci Hart creates. Piece of Work is a story of passion, growth, and most of all love.
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
