Review: Taken by Logan Chance

Rhiannon

Things change. Sometimes not for the better.

Xavier is no longer the maid’s son. Or my best friend. Now he’s wealthy and powerful–the dark don, in charge of one of the largest organized crime rings in the city.

I never expected the boy who always saved me to be the man who kidnaps me.

Xavier

Some things never change.

Rhiannon is still as fiery and beautiful as the day she walked away. Now she’s back, summoned by the man who despises me. My rival. Her father.

If her father wants war, he’ll get a war.
Kidnapping his daughter is the key to my ultimate revenge.

My Review

“It took me a lifetime to fall in love, and a moment to fall out.”

“Words I’ve wanted to hear since I was fifteen fall from his lips, but not in the meaning I wished back then.”

“I hate the way he stares at me as if I’m a kitten in need of shelter. I hate the way he growls my name when he’s angry. I even hate the way his grasp on my arm sends tingles to all the places I shouldn’t be feeling anything for him.”

Taken is my first book by author Logan Chance and it certainly won’t be my last. I fell head over heels for this story the moment I started reading. The instant I met Xavier and Rhiannon, I was utterly captivated; in awe of their beautiful friendship and could not wait to see what was ahead for the two of them. I had no idea the direction their story was going to take. And let me tell you, their story had me on the edge of my seat, devouring every word in anticipation of the outcome.

Taken is fast paced, well written and entertaining. The story sucks you in and leaves you hanging on every word. There is danger and mystery. Suspense and drama. Secrets and lies. Twists and turns that I never saw coming. And the heat between Xavier and Rhiannon is off the charts and I promise, those two will keep you begging for more.

This story hit all the marks for me and is exactly what I was looking for in a mob inspired story. I loved the friends to enemies to lovers story-line. I loved the characters and couldn’t get enough of their story. Overall, this was a really enjoyable read for me and I look forward to checking out more from this author in the future.

*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
