What makes you happy?
That was the question Emery Reed asked me the day we met, and I couldn’t give him a single answer. I could have said my dog, or my books, or yoga — but I just stared.
And then, I got in his car.
It was crazy to take a road trip with a stranger, but after years of standing still, he was my one-way ticket to a new life, and I wasn’t going to miss it.
We shared the same space, the same car, the same hotel room — and still, we were strangers.
One day we’d be laughing, the next, we wouldn’t speak. Emery was surrounded by impenetrable walls, but I wanted in.
Discovering his journal changed everything.
I read his thoughts, words not meant for anyone’s eyes, and the more I learned about him, the harder I fell. It turned out nothing made Emery Reed happy, and I wanted to change that.
I earned his trust by violating his privacy, and as wrong as it was, it worked — until one entry revealed a darkness I never knew existed, a timer I never knew was ticking.
Suddenly, what made me happy was saving Emery from himself. I just didn’t know if I could.

“Life isn’t supposed to be safe.” “If it was, they wouldn’t call it living. They’d just call it existing. And you’ve existed long enough, baby girl. It’s time to live.”
“I think I knew, even then, that the greatest adventure of my life was about to begin.”
“He kissed me like it was a privilege, like he didn’t want to rush it, like we had forever.”
When I first heard about this book, I knew it was going to be a game changer; that this book would take me a journey that my heart wouldn’t be prepared for. This book was everything and so much more. It consumed me. It left me hanging on every word. It left me breathless with anticipation. I was absolutely hooked on these characters and their story. Wild horses could not stop me from reading.
So, what can I tell you about On the Way to You? This book is absolute perfection. It is hauntingly beautiful with a story-line that is just breathtaking and that will utterly consume you. This story takes you on the most incredible journey and will give you all the feels. Emery and Cooper’s story isn’t just a romance, it is so much more. It is a story about taking risks and chances you never thought you could. It is about finding strength in impossible situations and holding on to hope for a happy ending. It is story of never giving up and finding your true self, finding what makes you happy. It is a story about wearing your pain and your scars and being proud of them. You may be broken, but they are a part of you and they make you who you are.
Cooper and Emery drew me in instantly and I knew I’d be hopeless to not fall in love with them. They were complex and beautiful and broken. I loved Cooper’s light and her positive outlook on everything. And Emery….His darkness and the clouds that surrounded him drew me in. I wanted to know more about him. Why did he have so many ups and downs? What made him happy? Cooper entered Emery’s life at just the right time. She shared her light and made Emery fight for the things that he wanted. She gave him hope in a cloud of darkness. I loved their slow burn. The anticipation. Where would their story go?
On the Way to You is an incredibly special read. I loved every moment, from beginning to end. This is definitely one of those reads that I recommend canceling all of your plans for. The story and the characters will consume your every thought and will have you thinking of them long after the end….

About the Author:
Kandi Steiner is a Creative Writing and Advertising/Public Relations graduate from the University of Central Florida living in Tampa. Kandi works full time as a social media specialist, but also works part time as a Zumba fitness instructor and blackjack dealer.
Kandi started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic (like most girls brought up on Disney movies).
When Kandi isn’t working or writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys beach days, movie marathons, live music, craft beer and sweet wine – not necessarily in that order.
