BLURB

As a kid, Logan Preston was a brat.

Through his teens, he became the bad boy.

Now, at nineteen, no one knows what the hell to expect.

***

High school dropout, Logan Preston is a

good-for-nothing stoner.

A black sheep.

A disappointment.

The worst Preston Punk of the lot.

At least that’s how everyone in his small town

makes him feel.

But Logan Preston has secrets.

Secrets so dark and so deep below the surface that the only way he can fight them is to stay high, high, high.

He wears cockiness as a mask.

Arrogance as his armor.

Until one girl, one night, asks one life-changing question:

What’s beneath the bravado, Logan Preston?

My Review

“There’s something strange about our connection, about the softness mixed with strength.”

“I am lost. I am high, floating. I am low, beneath the earth’s surface. I am night. She is day. I am darkness. She is light.”

“I made you a penny. It’s not a lucky penny. It’s a penny filled with hope. My hope. You + Me.”

“I don’t see anyone but you. Even in my lowest, darkest moments, Aubrey, I only see you.”

Devastating. Emotional. Heartbreaking. Logan is a beautiful story of strength, love and hope. If ever I need a reminder as to why I love Jay McLean’s writing so much, this book is that reminder.

Logan is told from dual points of view and follows the story of Logan and Aubrey. From the moment I picked up this book, I was sucked into Logan’s story. I wanted to know more about the boy who was always getting into trouble and whose life was utter chaos.

Logan’s story is not an easy one. It is a story of darkness, hurt and despair. It is a story of love and lightness and second chances. It is a story of the chaos and the secrets that we sometimes hold onto. It is a story of reaching those unimaginable moments, the moments of hopelessness and rockbottomness. It is a story of finding hope and strength when you need it the most. It is a story of the strongest love and faith in someone. A love that can withstand anything thrown at them. A determination to find a happy ending. This book is all of that and so much more.

It is a story that will rock you to your core. It will devastate you one minute and give you hope the next. You will be laughing your ass off one moment and have tears in your eyes the next. Your heart will soar, it will swoon and by the end, I hope you will love Logan and Aubrey’s story just as much as I did.

Logan is a beautiful and unexpected story. It is emotional. It is consuming. The journey is not easy, but I wouldn’t change a single thing. Once again, Jay McLean has obliterated my expectations and taken my breath away. An amazing addition to the Preston Brothers Series.

*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
