What’s sexier than a bad boy? A bad ass man who’s got his shit together.
Max Alexander is nearing thirty-five. He’s built a successful company, and he’s conquered the professional world, but he’s never been lucky in love. Focusing so much time on his business and raising his daughter, adulting has come at the expense of his personal life.
His social skills are shit, his patience is shot, and at times, his temper runs hot.
The last thing he has time for is the recently single, too gorgeous for her own good young woman he hires to take care of his little girl. She’s a distraction he doesn’t need, and besides, there’s no way she’d be interested. But you know what they say about assumptions?
This is book 3 in the Roommates series, but each book can be read as a complete standalone as they all feature new couples to fall in love with.
“It was as though he could see me, all naked and raw in front of him, and other times it was as though he could see even further than that–into my soul.”
To me there is nothing sexier than seeing the guy who doesn’t do relationships fall. Add in the fact that the guy suddenly finds himself a single father, and that is the perfect romance recipe.
The House Mate is the third book in the Room Mates series, but can be read as a stand-alone novel. The House Mate follows the story of Max and Addison. Max has been living the life. He’s successful and could have any woman that he wants. His only flaw, he doesn’t do relationships. Yes, Max is living the perfect life, but that perfect life is all about to change….Addison has had the worst luck when it comes to love. After her last failed relationship, Addison has decided that she needs a fresh start. As luck would have it, the perfect job is about to drop into her lap…..
I just adored The House Mate. The story-line was absolute perfection. This was such a wonderful book to spend the day getting lost in. It was perfectly paced and the characters were so easy to connect with. I fell in love with them all instantly. I really enjoyed Max’s character. He was perfectly imperfect. He was doing his best to adjust to his new circumstances and I felt like his character grew a lot. He was a wonderful father. I adored Addison. She came into Max’s life at just the right time. She had a huge heart and loved his little girl as if she was her own. And the chemistry between these two was just amazing. I knew from the moment I read Max and Addison’s first encounter that their relationship was going to be something special and these two did not disappoint. Their connection was hot and instant and I honestly couldn’t wait to see how things would progress with the two of them.
Overall, I thought The House Mate was a really fun read. This story had a lot of heart and passion. The characters were fun and easy to connect with. Max and Addison’s story had just the right amount of romance, sexy good times and of course a little drama. This story was everything that I was looking for and a totally enjoyable read.
