“The story reads like a movie . . powerful and intoxicating … and sinfully sexy. GRIP has everything—dynamic characters, soulful plot, and a lesson at the end that will change the way you look at life. One of my favorite reads this year. Maybe ever. 5 massive, gripping stars from me!” — Adriana Lock, USA Today Bestselling Author

Resisting an irresistible force wears you down and turns you out.
I know.
I’ve been doing it for years.
I may not have a musical gift of my own, but I’ve got a nose for talent and an eye for the extraordinary.
And Marlon James – Grip to his fans – is nothing short of extraordinary.
Years ago, we strung together a few magical nights, but I keep those memories in a locked drawer and I’ve thrown away the key.
All that’s left is friendship and work.
He’s on the verge of unimaginable fame, all his dreams poised to come true.
I manage his career, but I can’t seem to manage my heart.
It’s wild, reckless, disobedient.
And it remembers all the things I want to forget.

My Review

“Nothing has changed, and everything is different now. He looked at me that day the way he’s looking at me now, as if I were some mystery he wanted to loose himself in solving. Conversely, he looks at me like he knows my every secret.”

“I fell for her before the beat dropped.”

“He thinks he loves me? He hasn’t met a love like mine. My love is Pandora’s Box. Grip snapped my hinges and pried me open. He let this love out. My love has a wild streak. Good luck trying to tame it.”

Blown away. I am 100% blown away!!

Grip is the much anticipated follow up to Flow and takes place 8 years after the events of Flow. So much has happened with Grip and Bristol since we last saw them, but the pull is still there. Yes, mistakes were made and misunderstandings happened, but Grip and Bristol worked very hard to get where they are now. Grip is determined to make Bristol listen and finally make her his. Bristol is stubborn and afraid to take that leap with Grip. She has been nothing but disappointed in her life and desperately wants love, but is afraid that once you takes that chance, Grip will turn out just like her father….

What can I tell you about Grip? Well, Grip is just amazing. It is incredibly well written and captivating. From the moment you pick up Grip, you are sucked right back into Grip and Bristol’s story. Your eyes will be glued to the pages and you won’t be able to turn the pages fast enough. Grip is a diverse and at times, a complex read. The characters are real and raw. I applaud Kennedy Ryan for not only the way that she wrote these characters, but also for the way she brought their struggles to light. She made you understand just how tough Grip’s life has been and will continue to be. She made you understand that there will be tons of ups and downs along the way and that if Bristol is going to be in Grip’s life, then she’s got to be tough. She’s got to fierce. She’s got to the kind of woman that stands by her man, through anything.

Grip is unlike anything I’ve read from this author before. Not only is this story real and raw, but it’s also very brave. Brave in the sense that this author tackles some very real, very hot button issues. Issues that will make you think and will make you see things in a whole other light.

Grip is not just a second chance romance, but is a story about life and family. It is story of forgiveness and fears. It is a story about taking a risk when you are scared out of your mind. It is a story of an incredible love that nothing can break. It is an unforgettable and powerful love story. And I just loved every minute of  it. Kennedy Ryan, you have completely blown my mind and I can not wait to see what story you will be bringing to me next.

Available on WATTPAD:

“Ryan continues her streak of amazingly accessible and authentic romantic fiction. Grip is a bold and unapologetic look at interracial romance and does not shy away from any of the ideals and prejudices that most of us are too polite to acknowledge – head on- amidst one of the sexiest, and most provocative true love romances Ryan has penned to date. Break out the fans folks, Grip is aptly titled and sure to make you need a grip! — Sheena, Smexy Books

In 8 years, Marlon James will be one of the brightest rising stars in the music industry.
Bristol Gray will be his tough, no-nonsense manager.
But when they first meet, she’s a college student finding her way in the world,
and he’s an artist determined to make his way in it.
From completely different worlds,
all the things that should separate them only draw them closer.
It’s a beautiful beginning, but where will the story end?

FLOW is the prequel chronicling the week of magical days and nights

that will haunt Grip & Bristol for years to come.

GRIP is the full-length conclusion of their story available NOW here:

My Review

“You know that electric tingle people talk about? That thing that zips up your spine like a tiny shock when your hands first touch? That isn’t this touch. It isn’t electric. It’s something that…simmers. A heat that kind of seethes under my skin for a second and then explodes like a solar flare.”

So many feels packed into one short, prequel novella. Sitting at just 130 pages, Flow gives us the story of Bristol and Grip. We get their fateful meeting, their undeniable and intense connection. We get to see these two characters fight the connection that they both feel and then the moment that Bristol decides to give in and let go, the rug is pulled out from under her. One moment has the power change everything and the course to happily ever after. Flow will intrigue you. It will make you swoon and fall in love. It will frustrate you. And the ending…the ending will leave you begging, no demanding to get your hands on the rest of the story…
