Review: Words I Couldn’t Say (Promise in Prose #1) by Tessa Teevan

words
You know the old adage “if you love something, set it free?”
It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
The dumbest thing I’ve ever done.

I loved her. I lost her. Hell, I let her go. And then spent five miserable years without her.

To cope with the loss, I put pen to paper and wrote her a love story, knowing when she was ready she’d hear the words I couldn’t say all those years ago.

Turned out, not only would she hear them, but when Hollywood came calling, I made sure she got the lead role. After all, no one else could portray the character whom she’d inspired. Now she’s within arms’ reach and finally, she’ll know the truth in my heart.

Because that other cliché, “Actions speak louder than words?”
I’m going to prove it.
My words may have brought Ava Banks back into my life; I have to be enough to make her stay.

My Review

“I didn’t just want a fairytale. I wanted them all. The thing is that I had no idea that, by following my dreams, I’d risk missing out on the greatest fairytale of them all. My own.”

“His soft smile was earnest, as if he thinks his words would erase all of our pain, all of our heartache. As if words would be enough to keep us together. But, even though they were beautiful, they were just that. Words.”

“Three words. So simple, yet they said everything.”

I don’t know about you guys, but I have been on pins and impatient needles waiting for the next release from Tessa Teevan. You see, Tessa is one of those authors that I can always count on. I can always count on her for a beautiful, heartfelt story, that is determined to make me FEEL all the things. So, you have to know that when I got my hands on Words I Couldn’t Say, I couldn’t have been more giddy to read it. I was greedy and just devoured every written word….

Words I Couldn’t Say is beautifully written and steals your heart from page one. This is an incredible friends to lovers/second chance romance. From the moment I picked up this book, my heart did not stand a chance. I felt so many things and couldn’t read the pages fast enough. I had to know what would happen with Ava and Tucker. Their story just captivated me and made me want more. The love and connection they shared was so deep and so real, I couldn’t help but root for these two to find their way back to one another and never let go of their second chance.

Words I Couldn’t Say was everything that I wanted and was so worth the wait. This story will make you laugh. It is going to frustrate you. The push and pull between Ava and Tucker will captivate you and their romance will just leave you breathless. This story is not all hearts and flowers and there are some very heartbreaking moments, but I promise you, the journey is so worth it.

*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
