When her mother’s incessant matchmaking hits an all-time high, Georgie Archibald does what any sensible woman would do: she flees the country.
Seeking refuge in the picturesque seaside village of Vernazza, Italy, Georgie’s only plan is to lie low, gorge herself on gelato, and let the wine and waves wash her troubles away…that is until she wakes up in a bed that belongs to the most romantic-looking man she’s ever seen.
After going out of his way to rescue her, the former London financier turned mysterious recluse makes it clear that despite acting as her white knight, he has no plans to co-star in her fairytale.
But Georgie isn’t asking for his heart—she’s merely intrigued.
After all, Gianluca isn’t just gorgeous—tall and tan from days spent in the sun—his touch sets her world on fire. With him, Georgie experiences the most intoxicating passion she’s ever known, and it only takes a few steamy nights for her to realize that sometimes running away from trouble is the best way to find it.

My Review

I fell in love with A Place in the Sun from the first page. The writing just pulled me in and captivated me. I didn’t want to do anything else, but read this story. It just consumed me. I loved the way the writer built Georgie and Gianluca’s story. Their story is one of those that gives you an instantly feeling of amazing. You’re only a few pages in and you just know this is going to be a fantastic love story.

I fell in love with both Georgie and Gianluca straight away. I thought Georgie was brave, leaving home and setting her sights on finding her own path. She wanted to find true love, but didn’t think it was ever going to happen. Meeting Gianluca was so unexpected, but happened at just the right time. He was a mystery to her, with his sexiness and his broody temperament. Gianluca…from the moment he was introduced to this story, I was stoked. There was just something about him that was begging me to find out more. He was mysterious and heartbroken. You could tell he had so much to give, if he would just open his heart and mind to it. I think that Georgie was an amazing match for Gianluca. She challenged and annoyed him in ways he never expected. She slowly weaseled her way into his life and showed him that it was ok to laugh and be happy and to fall in love again….Together, the tension between Gianluca and Georgie was just sizzling. I mean, it was off the charts. The tension so palpable, it was like it was living thing. Like you could reach out and touch it. I just couldn’t get enough of the two of them and was desperate to see how things would turn out.

Honestly, I could just gush about this book all day. I just loved everything about it. I mean everything; right down to the setting. I have an even stronger desire to go to Italy now!! But, seriously, this book is nothing short of fantastic. The characters are amazing, even the secondary ones. I loved the way that they were written and how real they felt. They were easily people I could see hanging out with and wanting to get to know more of.

A Place in the Sun was more than just a romance. It is a story that dealt with real issues.  A story about hope and finding the right time to move on. A story about finding yourself and taking risks. It is an amazing story of friendship and of course taking a chance on love.

A Place in the Sun is a fantastic and beautifully written love story. This story is filled with romance, frustrations and of course just the right amount of angst. But, in the end, this story is going to leave you with the biggest smile on your face and will have you wanting to pick this book right back up and read it from the beginning all over again. I hope that you will take a chance and fall in love with this book and its characters just as I have.

*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things… everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I’m a comedy geek and love all things “funny”. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
