Anything but Minor is an amazing read, from start to finish. This book is laugh out loud funny with amazing characters that you can’t help but fall in love with.
Told from dual points of view, Anything but Minor follows the story of Alice and Rafe. Alice is a woman in her own league. She’s smart. She’s beautiful. She’s a Flight Instructor. She is the nerdiest of nerds and is full of useless factoids. She has zero filter and just says whatever comes to mind. She is the type of girl that you want to have as your best friend and that men would love to fight for. Her move to Charleston is supposed to be her fresh start. She has a new job lined up and is ready to take life by the horns and finally LIVE…What wasn’t part of her plan, however, was Rafe. Rafe is the star minor league pitcher. His number is going to be called any day now and he certainly lives up to his playboy reputation. But, when he lands his eyes on Alice, there is just something about her that he can’t resist. He doesn’t make promises and he doesn’t do relationships, but there is just something about Alice that makes him want things he never thought possible. Try as he may, Alice just isn’t buying what Rafe is selling. She resists him at every turn. Will Alice take a chance on the playboy pitcher and is Rafe destined to keep striking out? There’s only one way to find out…
I have to say, I really enjoyed this book. It not only made me laugh, but it gave me so many feels. Alice and Rafe’s story is incredibly well written. From the moment you meet these two, you won’t be able to put their story down. Alice and Rafe have amazing chemistry, and are fantastic together, but they are far from perfect. The two of them are very new to the whole relationship and dating thing. So, they were bound to mess up and fight. And I think that element made them feel so real. They fought. They got jealous. They overreacted. They fell hard and loved even harder. I loved watching the two of them figure things out and I have to say, I loved how Alice kept me on my toes. She was a total riot and I just never knew what to expect her to say next.
Anything but Minor was such a fun read. I loved the characters and the setting. I grew up in South Carolina, so I definitely appreciated all of the Charleston love. I thought the plot was a lot of fun. It’s been a while since I’ve read a good sports romance, so you add some romantic comedy to that, and you have got yourself one fantastic read. I also really liked how entertaining Anything but Minor was. I easily devoured it one sitting. As I previously stated, I loved all the characters, even the supporting ones. Their banter was so much fun and honestly just felt like you were hanging out with good friends. I couldn’t get enough of it.
Anything but Minor is one of those books that has a little bit of everything in it; from sexy good times to frustrating moments. You will be left laughing out loud one moment and then swooning the very next. This book was a total joy to read and I just loved every second of it. I definitely will be adding this book to my top reads of 2016 list.
