Review: Up In Flames (Rosemary Beach #13) by Abbi Glines

Posted on

The villain of Rosemary Beach finally gets her own happy ending in the long-awaited final novel of the #1 New York Times bestselling new adult romance series by Abbi Glines.

The blockbuster #1 New York Times bestselling Rosemary Beach series ends with a bang when the troubled character readers love to hate gets her very own happily ever after in this eagerly anticipated and overwhelmingly requested story. Known for causing problems for everyone in Rosemary Beach, Nan has been growing up lately, and she’s finally taking center stage—and finding love with the man she least expected.

My Review

“It was me and my stupid need to be wanted. To belong to someone. For one man on this earth to believe that I was worth it. I wanted to be someone’s Harlow. Or Blaire. But I’d always just be Nan. And Nan wasn’t enough. I never had been, and I was done trying to be.”

“She hadn’t known me when I’d fallen in love. In all my years, I hadn’t believed in that emotion. It wasn’t real. It hadn’t touched me or even fucking grazed me. Then, in one moment, it slammed into me so strongly it changed every aspect of my life. Freeing her had been my only goal. Protecting her and having her had been what kept me going until the end.”

“The man you knew is the me that no one has ever gotten but you. It was real. I didn’t pretend to be anyone other than myself. I gave you the man I’ve never given anyone. I trusted you with me. Like I knew we would, we clicked. Locked into place like two lost pieces waiting for their match.”

The Rosemary Beach Series was one of the first NA series’ that I picked up. It helped spark the fire and my love for romance novels. I fell in love with Rush and Blaire instantly and have never experienced angst until their story. So, to see things come full circle and end with Nan; the villain, the unlikable….Well, I couldn’t think of a better way for this series to end……

Now, I gotta tell you, I was on the fence about Nan. I have never liked her, but she was slowly chipping away at me. There was more to her that meets the eye, and I was dying to see if the impossible could happen. Could Nan win me over??? The answer is simple. The impossible happened. I actually liked Nan. I know. I know. I can’t believe it either. But, finally getting to hear her story, I finally understood her. I understood why she was angry and how her anger was misplaced. I understood her actions. Did the things that she previously did piss me off? Yes, of course. But, I understand now.

So, what can I tell you about Up in Flames? What I can tell you is to go into it with an open mind. Nan is going to really surprise you. Her story is intriguing and will take you on a ride that you never expected. There is so much heart and emotion in this story. This story will surprise you. It will frustrate you. It will make you fall in love with the villian and cross your fingers for a happy ending. Nan’s story exceeded my expectations. It gave more than I could have ever asked for. My only complaint is that this story and this series is over.
