Sometimes love is more than a feeling…it’s a choice.
Justin Doyle loves his new wife, Sarah. Deeply. Madly. Passionately…. And he wants a divorce.
A few weeks into their marriage an unforeseen tragedy strikes, bringing their lives to a screeching halt.
For Justin, the loss hits him in deep and profound ways. He is wracked with a guilt which feeds his belief that he has never been—will never be—good enough. Sarah tries to be there for him while she deals with her own sadness, but he pushes her away…to a place neither are sure they can recover from.
The one thing they need most is each other. And it’s the one thing they don’t have.
Can they find their way back to the place they were before? Or is wedded bliss just a fairy tale?
Wow! Just wow! I was a little late to The Songbird Series, but let me tell you, I am so glad I took a chance on this series. With each book that I pick up, it just keeps getting better and better. And Rough Water is no exception.
Rough Water is perfectly named and is the best way to describe Sarah and Justin’s journey. Rough Water is one of those stories that will just tug at your heart. From the minute you pick up Justin and Sarah’s story, you are lost. You become so engrossed in their story, that you won’t be able to put it down. Your heart will ache for everything that Justin and Sarah experience. Their story will take you on such a roller-coaster ride of emotions. It will have you hoping and praying that this won’t be the end. That some how, some way, these two will be able to move past the tragedy and find their way back to one another.
Rough Water took me on such an amazing journey. It made me laugh. It made me cry. This story broke my heart and made me fall in love all at the same time. But, most of all this story gave me hope. Hope that when people really, truly love each other, they can get past and overcome anything. This story reminded me not to ever give up, even when it feels like giving up is your only option. There is always hope. Melissa Pearl has blown me away with the beauty and intensity of Sarah and Justin’s story. Their story is one that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon….
