Blurb

Lauren Layne brings all the unpredictable heat of her USA Today bestseller Blurred Lines to an all-new cast of characters! Country music’s favorite good girl is hiding away from the world—only to find herself bunking with a guy who makes her want to be a little bad.

Jenny Dawson moved to Nashville to write music, not get famous. But when her latest record goes double platinum, Jenny’s suddenly one of the town’s biggest stars—and the center of a tabloid scandal connecting her with a pop star she’s barely even met. With paparazzi tracking her every move, Jenny flees to a remote mansion in Louisiana to write her next album. The only hiccup is the unexpected presence of a brooding young caretaker named Noah, whose foul mouth and snap judgments lead to constant bickering—and serious heat.

Noah really should tell Jenny that he’s Preston Noah Maxwell Walcott, the owner of the estate where the feisty country singer has made her spoiled self at home. But the charade gives Noah a much-needed break from his own troubles, and before long, their verbal sparring is indistinguishable from foreplay. But as sizzling nights give way to quiet pillow talk, Noah begins to realize that Jenny’s almost as complicated as he is. To fit into each other’s lives, they’ll need the courage to face their problems together—before the outside world catches up to them.

My Review

“You know that feeling you get sometimes? Well, ok, rarely. That feeling you get when you meet a stranger’s eyes and something inexplicable and intense sizzles between you? That. That’s what happened between me and Noah Maxwell, at least on my end. And then….And then he had to go and open his mouth.”

“You know that numbness I talked about? The nothingness that has been following me around since I left Louisiana? It’s gone now. It fades away as I lose myself in the song. By the time I finish the song, tears are streaming down my face, and I don’t bother to wipe them away.”

“Her voice sounds like my heart. And I want it back. I want her back.”

Another fabulous read by Lauren Layne. Lauren Layne is quickly becoming one of my go-to authors. She is an automatic one-click for me. I mean, she can do no wrong. With each book that she writes, I find myself falling more in love and getting more lost in the stories and characters. And this latest book by her is just one of the reasons I love her books so much.

Good Girl is told from dual points of view and follows the story of Noah and Jenny. Jenny is trying to make a name for herself in the music world, but is quickly learning that being famous isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. She finds that she can’t do the simple things that she wants to do without getting noticed. So, when she gets accused of something that she hasn’t done; enough is enough. Jenny decides to disappear for a while and attempt to lie low. What she didn’t plan on was Noah….At first glance, Noah is everything she could ever want, but then he opens his mouth and any pleasant thoughts she had about him, go out the window. Noah is mean and arrogant. He too is hiding out from the world. But, when he sees Jenny, he only sees what he wants and not who she truly is. The tension between the two of them is scorching and undeniable. It’s only a matter of time before Noah and Jenny give into their passion. Will Noah and Jenny take a chance on something potentially amazing? Will Noah realize there is more to Jenny than meets the eye? What will happen when Noah’s truth finally comes out?? You’re just going to have to read this book to find out for yourself.

Good Girl was such a great read for me. The writing was smart and the story-line was entertaining. The characters were a lot of fun and easy to connect with. I fell in love with them instantly and couldn’t get enough of Jenny and Noah’s banter. Their sparring was so much fun to watch. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. I loved how Jenny challenged Noah. She made him see that she’s more than just a famous singer and that you can’t believe everything you read. I loved Noah. I loved his broody, alpha behavior. He was so stubborn and really frustrated me at times, but the more I got to know him, the more I got to see the real him. And beneath his cruel behavior was this really sweet, swoon-worthy guy. I couldn’t wait to see how good Noah and Jenny could be together and they don’t disappoint.

I loved everything about Good Girl,; from start to finish. This book made me laugh. It made me swoon. It frustrated me. It was filled with angst, such yummy delicious angst. It was just the right amount. Just enough to pull at your heart and leave you begging for more. And course this book made me fall in love. I swooned so hard over Noah. You can’t help but find yourself rooting for Noah and Jenny to find their way to their HEA.

Good Girl was everything I wanted and more. It hit all the marks for me and is a fantastic hate to love romance. Lauren Layne has definitely knocked it out of the park with this one. And I can’t wait to see what she’s got in store for us next.
