Not everything dangerous is bad.
From the moment Angelina laid eyes on him, she fell into a fantasy. Mysterious, foreign, gorgeous, Haithem offered her what she needed most—a chance to feel again.
But Haithem is much more than he appears to be. He lives in a world of danger where everything comes at a price.
For Angelina, that price is her future.
He’s made sure the life she’s left behind is in tatters. Made her family believe she’s dead. Still, he talks about protecting her, about keeping her safe, but she can’t distinguish his truth from his lies. She can’t separate her pleasure from his betrayal.
Haithem warned her. He told her he’d make her heart race, her body come alive and her most primal needs rush to the surface. His for the taking.
He didn’t say she’d come to love the devil who’s destroying her, even as he keeps her prisoner.
“Falling in love came with a dreadful price.”
“As tempting as it is to lose myself in what you make me feel, as lost as I already am, I want to know all of you.”….”I want to love you with my eyes open.”
What a crazy, thrilling read. This is my first book, by this author, and it certainly won’t be my last.
Now, I’m going to be honest with you, I didn’t really know what I was getting into when I picked up this book. I mean, I was definitely intrigued by the cover and synopsis of this story. I also knew there were a lot of mixed reviews for it. But, let me tell you, I am really glad that I decided to give it a go anyways.
Didn’t I Warn You is told from dual points of view and sucks you in from the very first page. I found the story-line to be refreshing and very intriguing. I loved the mystery that surrounded the characters and I loved that they had me asking questions. Now, I know that this book is marked “Dark”, but in my opinion, it wasn’t really dark. Was it intense? Yes, it had it’s moments. Did Haithem do some questionable things? Sort of. But, the story itself, wasn’t really dark.
I really enjoyed Haithem and Angelina together. Yes, Haithem did piss me off a lot. But, I loved seeing his vulnerable moments and I loved how protective he became of Angelina. I thought Angelina was very likable and easy to connect with. Her character had been through a lot and I loved seeing her open up and take risks with Haithem.
Now, I will say that Didn’t I Warn You was not perfect. There were a few moments in the beginning of the story that were kind of hit or miss for me and I honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to like this story or not. But, I’m really glad that I stuck with it. I ended up really enjoying the story and can not wait to read more.
Didn’t I Warn You was a quick and easy read for me. I read it in just one sitting and easily got lost in Haithem and Angelina’s story. Their story was filled with lots of danger, suspense and sexy good times. This story doesn’t necessarily end with a cliffhanger per say, but it definitely will leave you with questions and have you wondering what will happen next.
