After a car accident stole his dreams of pro football, JT McKinney has made a new life for himself far away from his old one. He spends his time in a prosthetic research and development facility, his attention on machines instead of people until a chance meeting with a young mother and her five year old daughter who need his help. He’ll have to let go of the past if he wants a future
“Something inside her sparked, maybe a tiny, forgotten piece of some faraway girl who used to believe in fairy tales. Because Jake had a way of making her want things she didn’t even believe in.”
There is just so much to love about this book/ this series. Ever since I read Worth The Fall, I have been hooked on this series. And with each additional book, I have fallen more in love with the characters and their stories. Worth It All is no exception.
Worth It All is a beautiful and heartwarming story. Told from dual points of view, this is Jacob and Paige’s story. Jacob is the youngest member of the McKinney family. He’s always felt like he’s lived in the shadow of his six older siblings and has always tried to keep up with them. He had everything he could have wanted in life and a promising football career. However, all of that was taken away, when he was involved in a life changing car accident. That car accident not only took away his football career and girlfriend, but it forced him to move as far away from his old life as he possibly could. Now, most people would let this get them down, but not Jacob. Jacob has embraced his loss and devotes his life to prosthetic research and development. He had no way of knowing his life was once again going to change….Paige’s life has been one struggle after another. She works hard to make ends meet and to provide a better life for her and her daughter. Paige’s daughter will prove to have a bigger impact on Jacob than he ever thought possible. Will Jacob get his second chance at happiness or will the past forever keep a hold on him?
Worth It All was a quick and easy read for me. I was hooked from the very first page. I loved the characters and the story-line. I couldn’t wait to read more. I absolutely adored Jacob. He was so sweet and reserved with his heart. I loved the slow build of his relationship with Paige. Yes, the two of them had an amazing connection, but he really took the time to get to know her and knowing that Paige had a child, I appreciated that he really thought things through before jumping in. And I just loved the way that he was with Paige. She brought him back to life and he showed her just how a woman she be treated. And I love, love, loved the way he was with Casey. The two of them were alike in so many ways and he never treated her like she was different. And Paige…You just had to appreciate her hard work and determination to have a better life. She was an amazing mom and also guarded her heart. But, when she fell in love, she gave it her all.
Worth It All is a great addition to The McKinney Brothers series. It gave me everything that I was looking for and more. I thought the story was well written and captivating. And I loved getting to spend some time with old friends from the previous books. Loved this book. Love this series. I can not wait to read more from this author in the future.
