From New York Times Bestselling Author, Penelope Ward, comes a new standalone novel.
Sharing a summer house with a hot-as-hell roommate should be a dream come true, right?
Not when it’s Justin…the only person I’d ever loved…who now hates me.
When my grandmother died and left me half of the house on Aquidneck Island, there was a catch: the other half would go to the boy she helped raise.
The same boy who turned into the teenager whose heart I broke years ago.
The same teenager who’s now a man with a hard body and a hardass personality to match.
I hadn’t seen him in years, and now we’re living together because neither one of us is willing to give up the house.
The worst part? He didn’t come alone.
I’d soon realize there’s a thin line between love and hate. I could see through that smug smile. Beneath it all…the boy is still there. So is our connection.
The problem is…now that I can’t have Justin, I’ve never wanted him more.
Author’s note – RoomHate is a full-length standalone novel. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.
“It was ironic, but the only times I could ever feel the remnants of our old connection were in fleeting moments of silent eye contact. Sometimes moments of silence spoke the loudest.”
“There is no music without you. Music is an expression of all of those tings you live for…a reflection of the passion within your soul. I live you. You’re my passion. You’re my music.”
Wow! What a fabulous read. RoomHate is the perfect hate to love/ friends to lovers romance. Now, you might think that’s a weird combination; hate to love, but when you read the story, I think you’ll understand just what I mean…..
So, what can I tell you about RoomHate? Honestly, I really enjoyed this story. I loved everything about it. This book is sexy. It consumes you and make you feel as though it is a part of you. It took me on such a roller-coaster ride of emotions. This book is riddled with angst, jealousy, romance and missed opportunities. I loved the push and pull between Justin and Amelia. From the moment I was introduced to the two of them, I could tell that they had a lot of unresolved feelings. Their emotions were intense and palpable. They were both feeling so much hurt and anger. I was dying with curiosity. I wanted to know what exactly happened to these two. I wanted them desperately to be able to move on from the past. Their connection was just so raw and real and no matter how much they fought it, I just knew these two were meant to be together.
RoomHate is a fantastic read from start to finish. It sucks you in from the very first page and it totally consumes you. This story is extremely well written and will have your emotions all over the place. This book will anger you. This book will frustrate you. The angst of the story just oozes off the pages and will just pull at your heart. And the love….the love is so good and so worth fighting for. When I first started this book, I had no idea the journey that it was going to take me on such an incredible journey. It completely exceeded my expectations. I am blown away by just how much I loved this book and I can not wait to see what journey this author will take me on next!
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
