When a McKinney brother falls in love, powerful emotion and overwhelming desire are never far behind.
Two hearts locked away . . . Hannah Walker spends her days coaching children through injury and trauma, one therapeutic horseback ride at a time. She knows all too well how violence can change a child and leave scars that never heal. It’s easy for her to relate to the kids; what isn’t easy is the thought of facing her own harrowing past.
Millionaire playboy Stephen McKinney could use a little coaching himself. Five years ago he encountered his most horrible nightmare—and the nightmare won. No matter what he achieves, nothing can make up for that awful night . . . or so he believes.
Both desperate for a second chance . . . Stephen is used to getting what he wants. And he wants Hannah. So when she turns him down, he’s intrigued. What he doesn’t know is that her secrets will lead him to a place he never wanted to go again . . . to a side of himself he’s tried to forget . . . a side that would scare Hannah away from ever loving him. Now his only chance to win her trust is to bare his soul, risking everything he tried so hard to protect.
Worth The Risk follows the story of Hannah and Stephen. Hannah spends her days providing physical therapy to children that have gone through trauma or other injuries. She knows better than anyone the scars that violence can leave behind and how hard it is to escape the past….
Stephen McKinney could use a little help himself. Five years ago, he lost his fiancee to a horrible act of violence. It changed him and caused a rift with his family. Now, he’s determined to try and make things right, to get that second chance with his family. The one thing he didn’t plan on, was meeting Hannah. That one meeting has him intrigued and suddenly wanting more from life. Will Stephen take another chance on love or will his fear of the past make him miss an amazing opportunity?
I have to say that Worth The Risk is so different from Worth The Fall. Worth The Risk has a much darker tone to it. This is a story about survival and coming out of a horrible situation and not giving up on a life. In a way it’s a second chance kind of story. A second chance at life, happiness and for Hannah, a first chance at love.
Worth The Risk deals with some very tough issues. I believe the author did an amazing job at showing the characters struggles and everything that the characters had to overcome. She made both Stephen and Hannah very easy to relate to and understand.
I adored Stephen and Hannah together. They were just what the other needed, but didn’t know that they were looking for. Their road to HEA was definitely not an easy one and boy did they have some obstacles that they had to overcome. But, in the end, the result was totally worth it.
Worth The Risk was a very enjoyable read for me. I found myself lost in the pages and couldn’t read it fast enough. Worth The Risk is told from both Hannah and Stephen’s pov. I loved the build of Stephen and Hannah’s relationship, the risk and the trust that was involved. This is a great story of finding peace, second chances at life and finding love. It was also wonderful spending time with the McKinney clan again and the Walker brothers were a great addition to this story. This is a fantastic series and I’m looking forward to reading more from this series in the future.
