Excerpt
The light beckoned. It wasn’t white; it was more a combination of every color I’d ever seen. I was ready to accept it, to move on to a place of warmth, but then I heard her cry. I heard Mary Anne’s sobs, and every moment from the past few days flew through my mind. I saw her face. I felt her skin, her lips. I heard her voice begging for me. I couldn’t leave her behind.
I tried to push through the fog, but her voice only seemed farther away. The light got brighter and brighter until I knew I couldn’t hold it off. I tried to cry out to her. To let her know I didn’t want to leave, but my voice failed.
Just as I was ready to reach the light, I was hit by a searing pain like nothing I’d ever felt before. The light faded, and it was replaced by a darkness so complete it nearly overwhelmed me.
I tried to listen for Mary Anne, but I heard nothing. The only sensation was the pain pulsating through my body. It’s as though my blood was on fire. I tried to calm my body, to fight off the pain, but the intensity was like nothing I’d ever experienced before.
The pain finally began to subside, and I could hear, and almost feel, her heart beating. She had to be right next to me. I reached out, but my fingers only touched the frozen ground. I opened my eyes.
That’s when I saw her next to him. He had his hands on her. Hunter had his hands on my Mary Anne. Without a second to think, I jumped to my feet and growled.
I lost sense of everything as I prepared to lunge for Hunter, to push him away from the girl who was clearly mine. My body convulsed, and I lost all control. My vision deepened, and I leapt.

My Review
I’m going to try my best to keep this review as spoiler free as possible!! Here it goes…..Dusk picks up right where Dire left off. Mary Anne has gone to extreme lengths to keep Gage alive. She has promised to be Hunter’s mate, so long as he saves Gage. But promises are easier to be made than actually following through with and feelings are almost impossible to turn off. If there’s any hope for survival, Mary Anne will have to learn to put her past behind her and attempt to move on. She will quickly learn the sacrifices and choices one must make in the name of love……………..
Dusk was such an enjoyable sequel to Dire. This time around not only do we get Gage and Mary Anne’s pov, but we also get Hunter’s. I really liked getting to see Hunter’s point of view and why he felt so strongly about things.
Once again, Alyssa Rose Ivy has given me an amazing paranormal romance to read. It had everything that I was looking for: action, romance, light steam, and some wonderful angst and drama. I loved how the author was able to connect this story with the Crescent Chronicles. It was so seamless. Plus, anytime, I get to spend with Levi and Allie makes me one happy camper! But, I get the feeling that we will get to see more from them in the future; I’m hopeful anyways.
Dusk was an exciting, quick and easy read for me. I was completely captivated with the story and the characters. I wouldn’t really say that this book ends with a cliffhanger, but definitely a, I can’t wait to see how this will all end! I don’t know what else to say other than I really enjoyed this book and now I’m anxiously awaiting for Dawn to come out!

Don’t miss DIRE, the first book in The Dire Wolves Chronicles
About DIRE:
Gage was the first guy I ever wanted. He was my first crush and my first fantasy, but he wasn’t my first in any other way because he never saw me as anything more than a friend— at least not until the night that changed everything.
It was all Gage’s fault. He insisted we drive through the storm and take the back roads. By the time the storm hit full force we had no chance. One night of snowbound sex changed our relationship forever. The problem was at the same time I caught another guy’s attention. This other guy happened to be the alpha of a pack of shifter wolves. I thought the wolves were the worst of my problems, but I was wrong. When things went from bad to worse I had to make a lifelong sacrifice to save Gage, but what price is too much to save the one you love?
