Book Review – Stinger by Mia Sheridan

I enjoyed Leo and LOVED Archer’s Voice beyond reason, so one-clicking Stinger was a no brainer for me. Also, I’m a Scorpio. So, of course, I think it’s the best sign of all. Stinger started off pretty much the way you would expect a book that has a porn star as one of the lead characters to start off – boinking. Lots and lots of boinking.

Grace Hamilton was the girl with a plan. She knew exactly where her life was going and prided herself on always achieving her goals. It was who she was, and how she lived her life. She never stepped outside the lines, and never considered what she might desire and whom she was actually trying so hard to please. Until him…
Carson Stinger was a man who didn’t play by any rules except his own. Working in the adult entertainment industry, he didn’t care what others thought, and took each day as it came, no direction, no plan. He knew what women wanted from him and believed it was all he had to offer. Until her…
When circumstances forced them to spend several hours together, they walked away changed. But for two people who never should have meshed, overcoming the reality of their vastly different lives wasn’t possible. At least not yet…

I absoFREAKINlutely loved Grace and Carsons relationship. I loved how understanding they were of each other. When they came across a bump they quickly discussed things rationally and talked it out, without avoidance or dragging out the drama. This was probably partly because their time together, in the start, was so short. They had better things to do. These two were smoking hot!

“Sometimes, therapy takes years and years, and sometimes it can happen in one miraculous instant, a lifetime of doubt and self-hatred healed in a moment of astounding love.”

This was a long book. There were 3 parts to it and while the first 2 parts flowed seamlessly the third felt like a jump into something else entirely. This wasn’t a bad thing. I think a book of that length would need something to keep readers interested and the last part of the book definitely kept you reading.

The story touched on some serious issues and I found the resolving of those issues a bit abrupt. Like, I was reading it and thinking…”wait?! Is that it??” For such a huge part of the story it just wrapped up so quickly and neatly. But Stinger is more romance than action so it made more sense not to drag the action scenes out.

“You are far from nothing to me.”

Mia Sheridan has definitely cemented her place as one of my faves. Her stories are always enjoying so when you pick up a Mia Sheridan book you just KNOW you will be entertained from start to finish. Anything she writes in the future is going straight to the top of my TBR list!
